You are living in the past. The new regulations address remitted funds into Thailand. Which is a new thing.

What I don't know is whether the new regulations will be enforced, but I won't take a chance, and will limit my time in Thailand this year. Next year, I will see if the regulations are enforced.

Probably the enforcement mechanism would be visa renewal, so I will know sometime after next April if Farang visa holders are required to present a tax return to renew their visa.
