The street is fair game. Besides, I walk down the street and get the contact of 10 chicks. I am not going to walk into the bars and buy 10 drinks. But then bar and mamasan managers should be able to let girls give their Line if they want to meet customers outside of bar hours.

I always get the girls Line in the bars and no one ever stopped me from doing so. I'm not trying to do anything tricky I just want to keep track of the girl in case she is good and move bars, also good if I'm planning to come down and make sure she is there. Never had any problems with managers / mamasans.

Not sure what hotels, clubs, or locations where these girls would be. I know I'm in Thailand to get with Thai women, but I enjoy variety when I know its available.

Nightwish bars are ruthless about letting girls go LT and many other bars are the same, once a girl leaves a bar then they are not bringing in revenue and when you lose too many girls then the bar loses customers for the rest of the night.

I know girls who left bars and who only work freelance thanks to networks. Why bother with a boss, impossible hours to drink alcohol and endanger their health when they can find customers whenether they want from home? As for customers, I read a lot of testimonies in this thread of customers who only go through Thaifriendly or their own network.

It would be too ugly IMO, even for Thailand, if there was such a brutal differentiation that some girls are "too ugly" to even require a barfine, and everyone in the bar knows that.

There's already a ranking established among the girls, it is based on their salary. The more a girl is performant, the higher her salary. Many girls can't reach their drink quota, nobody would feel hurted based on a ranking that already exist.

Secondly it is very naive to think that in a bar environnement, the management is worried to not hurt some of the girls feelings.

Also, while my knowledge of bargirl economics is rather outdated now, as I have no Thai friends working or running bars anymore, 10 years ago it was still the case that the girl got roughly half the barfine herself back from the bar later.

As of a few months ago, the girl got 200 baht out of a 2500 baht barfine paid by the customer. That does not even make 10 percent of the amount, which equals to almost nothing in other words.

We all know that not every girl can attract customers in and make them spend. Only a handfull of girls are able to do this in each of these bars. You walk past some bars and see the same girls standing or sitting there without a customer every night because they are passive and don't want (or don't know how) to play the game. Nobody want to spend on these girls (except for the room fee maybe). So when these girls are not there, the bar loses nothing. Yet the price of the barfine is the same for each one of them. If what you described was true, the barfine should be expensive only for the girls that brings in the cash, and every others should have a lower priced barfine which is not the case.

Not really. Go to higher-end massage parlours, and yes, there is a difference in price for prettier (for some subjective definition of prettier) girls. Thai girls usually know pretty well themselves where they rank on the beauty scale, so there's no need to rub it in with salt like that.

I also agree that perhaps the whole concept of barfines and lady drinks is not entirely absurd but rather getting charged for something that was served or consumed (such as in the case of the guy being charged for 6 lady drinks that were never even served)​ is absurd. It's like being charged for something you didn't buy.

That damn lady drink game is brutal. It went from paying for a real drink for the girl, to paying for a real drink but the girl drinking apple juice mixed with water, to fuck it, just give us the money and act like you bought a drink for someone.
