Here's news for you: August and September are very quiet in Pattaya. Every year. Things start picking up in October, and by December, no one will be texting you.

No gloom and doom, simply being prepared for whatever transpires in the world.

And yes, I only go to Thailand in low season, there's a few months of high season and then the same girls will be sexting again. Rinse wash and repeat.

For what it's worth, I still anticipate this happening, no one can predict when a crash will happen, but happen it will as all economic cycles are cyclical. I'm American, most Americans are now paycheck to paycheck. The US just cut interest rates which signals their concern over the economy and we are close to all out war in the middle east and Ukraine and America is at the center of both those wars. Shit can ugly out of nowhere and fast. And don't forget, markets started crashing on August 5th due to Japan and it's policy of zero interest. Once Japan decides to start raising interest rates, all economies will crash, August 5th is proof of that.

Enough economics, I spent a good portion of August and September in Pattaya and BKK. The girls in Pattaya were desperate and the girls I would meet would constantly text me to repeat, at a level I never experienced before. It's a sign of things to come in the future..

Pro tip: don't come to Pattaya between December 20 and January 8, unless you like big crowds and high prices.

I wouldn't if I didn't have to, but I have had to leave my holiday until late this year and there is the bonus of extra time in Thailand due to Christmas and New Years Bank Holidays.

The next trip will be better, I arrive just after Songkran.

As my travel date to land of the smiles nears, random questions have been popping into my mind. The latest is about lady drinks. I've got a few questions surrounding this topic. I know nothing is a given, but as a general rule, when you purchase a lady drink is there legit alcohol in it or is it just BS? These women truly enjoy drinking with you getting a little loose maybe a party atmosphere or they just pouring some soda or colored water into a glass for them? LOL also, is there a difference at the gentlemen clubs versus the gogo bars, I've always viewed the idea of purchasing lady drinks as an opportunity to gauge how the girl might be in your room with you. If she's flirty and playful and just seemingly having a fun open personality, then the lady drink would seem like it's totally worth it to spend a few just to feel her out. What are the chances you can get into some heavy petting in the bar going both directions if you purchased a few lady drinks? Is this common? I've read that it happens on this forum, but I wonder how common it is for her to get a little feel in and you get feel her up a little well before you take her out. And last question surrounding this topic, assuming you get a date like maybe off a tie friendly what are the chances that some of these girls are down for like having drinks getting loose, more of a party type atmosphere rather than just wham Bam and leaving? These are hookers. They do not need to be drinking to get a little loose. The purpose of a lady drink is for the bar to make money and the girl to make money. Many girls live off lady drinks and are not there to fuck. Are you going there to fuck or to find a drinking buddy? If option 1 then I suggest you ask about fucking before you start buying drinks. My guess for why last high season was packed and high tourists numbers was the pent up demand from people not being able to travel due to Covid. We're well over a year now since the world reopened so to speak and travel across the globe has seen record numbers. But I think that post Covid demand starts to fizzle soon and places like Thailand won't see as busy high seasons for a while.

Global recession incoming, people's savings from Covid and government stimulus checks are about exhausted. Saw a stat that almost half Americans only have $1,000 or less in savings. I think that is likely indicative of the rest of the world.

Pattaya currently is pretty dead, especially compared to this time last year. I took a walk down Soi Pothole the other night and no customer in sight but a crap ton of ladies working and hollering for handsome man to buy drink. Honestly the ladyboys were better looking than the ladies on Soi Pothole.

I get multiple massages a day and all the ladies complain about a lack of customers and how slow it is..

Well, High Season last year was so crowded, I bailed from Pattaya in early January and didn't come back for two months. And it was still crowded in late March.

There was no global recession. Plus, the US stock market is skyrocketing, so lots of people have disposable income.

I would look forward to another crowded High Season.

For example when I was a visitor: My food costs were all over the place. Insanely high for Farang food. Next to nothing for Thai Food.

Example: Ribeye from Australia - 890 THB; Khao Man Gai - 50 THB;.

Question is still on the table if anyone is consistently paying less than 1000 THB for Short Time. If not, should I increase my price point to 1200 THB and pay for Long Time?

Still amazes me on how many ladies insist on 1,500-2,500 for ST with so little customers. They're in for a rude awakening once the global economy really starts to melt, they'll be begging for 800 baht ST soon enough. Just my humble prediction.

I read your lengthy post about experience in Pattaya. I am a fellow Indian, average built and decent looking. This has been my experience too.

I have been to Pattaya back when I was 24 yrs old, then later when I was 28,32, 35 and early this year when I am in my early 40's. This has always been my experience. I am usually dressed decently, but not flashy. I leave my gold chain, ring, watch etc back in my room when I am mongering.

It does not matter how you look, these establishments are racists and don't want Indians there. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you Know that you have the money to spend and you would usually spend more than any average customer, but they just won't let you in.

Mostly the girls in soi 6 bars also ignore you.

The best bet is Thai Friendly, but it takes a lot of work to get the type of girls you like. I like young slim and petite girls. I usually message all the girls I like and be very upfront about my requirements. Like I want long time, BJ etc. It takes effort, but atleast you won't get rejected.

Also, in my experience, having a Thai girl with you, gets you entry to some places. I have never tried taking a girl to a go go bar, but clubs which deny you entry usually let you in if you are with a girl.

First time visitor please note my posts in the Pattaya Hotels thread from the last time I was in visitor mode: First Place I stayed was View Talay 6.

View Talay 6 remains my recommended choice for a first trip to Pattaya.

Finished up visitor mode in View Talay 5 (17,000 THB / month).

A 49 m2 room that was completely remodeled with a full kitchen complete with oven. There was a breakfast nook where ATF would share our morning tea and meals she prepared for me. It had an ocean view, King Size Bed, 65" Television, Bathroom with rain shower, and shower massage wand. The room was completed with a couch, coffee table and a chase.

The building had 24 hours security, Laundry Shop, Massage shop, Law Firm, Travel Agency, and a fully stocked grocery store. The building sits right on a Baht bus route. Has an exit to the rear of the complex that it puts you right on the street. Cross it and you are on Jomtiem beach. Now I actually stayed there for more than a month. Did not see a single roach inside my building or my room. LOL!.

For those of little faith and less knowledge my independently google the reviews of View Talay 5. There is a full report on my perceptions of View Talay 5 for all who are interested. I got tired of the 20 minute Baht Bus ride into Central Pattaya. So that is why I would not recommend it for a first time visitor or anyone who wants to be in the middle of the action.

I was phasing out of visitor mode, easing myself off of the tourist economy and adjusting my lifestyle to one of continuous living. The distance did not prevent any girls off to Thai Friendly from visiting me nor did the charge extra. Even if it was 0200 they were there in 20 minutes +plus time for hair clothes and make up.

I have been here in Pattaya uninterrupted by trips to other countries with Thai girls for over a month. That gives me 365+ RONs. I'll put that number up against the RON count from any visitor currently posting. Holla!
