Maybe you have not seen the recent news about China. The stock market there took a huge dive and many people lost everything. Factories closing left right and center and rich Chinese have lost everything. For me I agree but exclude China.

My regular vendors (non-sexual) are telling me things are slow and are hoping for a late start of high season next month. They tell me things are slower than they were this time last year. Anecdotal evidence for sure, but I don't see what this guy sees:

Quite the opposite. I am on the Baht (did I spell that right) Bus traveling from Jomtien to Central Pattya all the time. The usual crowds that fill the Baht Bus are not there. I am still having to wait for the Baht Bus to fill up on Second Street for the return trip. Even during the business hours. I am not seeing a crush of tourists in my favorite eating spots nor in the mall. But hey, what do I know. I'm a new poster.

I agree as US and Europe is under recession less travellers will come. But Japan, China, Korea and India tourist will come in large numbers. So impact will be less.

My prediction for Pattaya is that the place is rammed right now with girls and there are still not enough punters to go around. The top girls will still make money, but alas, the rest will just get by or dare I say it, even won't be able to survive. Look at Soi 6 bars right now. Look at the gents clubs, such as Club Fate. Look at the go go bars. The bar owners are stacking up on girls for high season, but there still won't be enough punters to go around. This high season, only the top go go bars, only the top freelancers, only the consistent gents clubs, only the good beer bars will survive. Another indication of a disappointing high season in Pattaya is the amount of live streams that are going on. The girls and bar owners alike are using these live streams to subsidize their incomes because there are more girls in preparation for high season, but not enough punters. I have even seen some freelancers open their own live streams because of this. This high season will be shorter, as it will start later and finish earlier. OK, I've seen the video twice.

The video shows that the cost of living in Thailand has increased by 17% in 12 years. This corresponds to an average inflation of exactly 1. 5% per year. The video shows the living situation of a single Thai woman. Relating this to the overall situation of an entire country is not serious. The fact is that prosperity in Thailand has improved enormously in the last 15 years. Incomes rose by more than 1. 5% during this period. Even if this single woman in the video says otherwise. Maybe she's doing something wrong.

If a fu** on Soi 6 cost 700 baht 15 years ago (equivalent to 2 days of hard work for a normal worker) then with inflation at 1. 5% it should now cost 837 baht. Today a girl gets a worker's weekly wage for half an hour of boum boum. And the service is worse.

This has nothing to do with inflation. This is a tourist rip-off.

Let me spell it out for you. If you watched the whole video, you would see that all Thai girls who earn a similar Baht actually experience more inflation than what your numbers reflect. Your issue is you seem to think this is an isolated incident and this girl in the video is just a one off example that is not the norm. If you lived here, you would know that thousands and thousands of girls live under the same conditions and experience the same issues with inflation as the girl in the video. If you understood this, then you would understand why the Pattaya working girls charge what they charge, which can be different day by day depending on the punter, their need for funds and so on.

Now to say that Pattaya is a tourist rip off? Well all over the world tourist areas charge more. However, we expats have proven that you do not need to partake in it and there is a huge menu to choose from in Pattaya. On that menu there are prices of all denominations. You as the punter choose to go where you want to go and spend what you want to spend. So, while you complain about the tourist trap and raising prices that are not justified because the amount of inflation is not matching the price increases, we expats are going to venues where the prices are actually not so high. Your problem is you want to go to a walking street go go bar and play with the big boys, but you don't want to spend the money or you can't and that makes you angry and that's why you complain about prices.

Look at Explorer. He is a guy that has money. He chooses not to go to these areas. Instead, he goes to other areas and sees other girls that don't work in the walking street bars. Do the same. use Thai Friendly. Meet freelancers in bars and clubs. Go to beer bars. Go to Gents clubs. The point is that if you want to find that 1000 Baht ST, you can easily find it. Guess what else he does, he actually meets up with the girls working on walking street after they finish work and fucks them for less than half the price. Instead of complaining, do the same. Sub does a lot of these same strategies as well. Don't blame the tourist trap, blame yourself. You want to play with the big boys, but you don't want to spend the money. It kills you to see some of the best looking girls charging high prices. Why do they work in these tourist areas? It's for a reason. Duh!!! They want to earn more money.

One last point. If you hate Pattaya so much, you do not need to come here. You do not need to post here. You are free to find another area to spend your money. What is clear is that you can't play with the big boys and you choose not to go outside of those tourist areas to find what you want. You have only yourself to blame for that and not the Pattaya tourist trap. The big difference is there are guys that have money because they are careful and smart, but when they want to go to walking street and pay, they can. Then there are other guys that don't have the money and they complain about raising prices because of that. Which guy are you? If I were you, I would focus on becoming guy number 1. Interestingly enough I have not visited any of the clubs on this list. In no particular order: Kinnaree Place, Kings Club, Lips Lounge, Passions, KitCat Lounge and one of my favorites that will remain unnamed here have all provided venues where I enjoyed myself and blown splooge. Maggie Mays (Jomtien) I have blown splooge up in there but do not like the set up of the club itself.

I went to Maggie Mays Darkside last night, it just opened last week.
