Just spent a week and a half in Bangkok and it was awesome. Girlfriend was here for first 4 days and then I had a week by myself. While she was here we had a couples massage at Aya massage. They won't. It's been pretty poor since Covid. You get the odd peach but they are rare. A waste of your time when you have other much better options (1) Suk 24 massage shops with some superb girls for less than Thermae and (2) Thaniya Road (I prefer Silom to Suk these days).

It's definitely a completely different place than it was 25 years ago. It's also a very different demographic when it comes to the customer base. Thermae had very few if any Asian customers in 1999. And the girls were there to party and have fun for the most part. Pretty much every girl had a drink in her hand and there would always be girls dancing by the jukebox. And as I said in my previous post they were quite aggressive, which I think for the most part Western guys prefer. You'd do a lap, get propositioned, and at least three or four girls would grab your unit. I thought it was wonderful. But when the coffee shop at the Siam City hotel on Petchaburi Rd closed, it was the Asian Thermae for those of you who don't know, the Asian punter crowd migrated to Thermae and if I became significantly more subdued, and in my opinion nowhere near as fun. And there began to be gals that wouldn't go with Western guys. Funny there were some that would but they didn't want their friends or the Asian punters to see them doing it, so they would meet you outside. The main Asian demographic at that time with Japanese and of course that has changed significantly. But I will throw this out there, I don't think Asian punters prefer girls to be incredibly slutty and aggressive like many of us Western guys do. They prefer a more demure wallflower, which I find incredibly boring. Always like gals that are aggressive and can talk dirty, and I used to find copious amounts of them in Thermae.

Rent was always do on the 5th of the month, and if you went on the weekend before you'd find scads of office girls and other semi pros who were looking to make a little more for rent. And most of these girls were selective and were a lot of fun. Of course I was a young early 30's guy then and was one of the youngest guys in the scene at that time, so I had an incredibly good time with the part-timers. There were several occasions when a girl would drive us to the short time hotel in the car she was trying to get money to make payments on. It was truly a wonderful scene and a wonderful era. 1. Got myself a monthly stay in a university dorm that is coed.

2. 1 km away walk to a 5 star gym where celebrities work out for less than $25 a month. Pool / Sauna / Yoga / Dance / Gym / Boxing and more. All coed. And I go everyday.

3. Gym located in a 8+ floor mall full of university students and food galore.

4. Cheaper street food still everywhere at student prices.

5. Hotels that some these students bang out of is all within walking distance. Price less than 1000.

The coed university dorm is the difference maker. They trust me LOL. Big cities can be fun.

I agree with you 100% on what you said about Thermae. Check out my previous posts (I only have 2) for my thoughts on the current status of Thermae. The girls' attitude is 100% the problem.

These girls are not there to hook up with guys, go out, and have fun. They are solely there for the money. In their eyes, us guys are just ATM machines, nothing more. They charge extremely high prices (3000 baht for short time), and you are not even guaranteed the full hour. Many girls do not even do "long time" anymore because short time is so much more lucrative. Also, their service sucks. Lots of no's. Many of the girls that I inquired with said they don't do kissing. I started asking myself: Why TF am I paying them so much money for shitty service?

If you're a first time traveler to BKK, I'd treat Thermae like the red light windows in Amsterdam: fun to look at once, but not worth paying the money for the shitty service.

You've got to remember Thermae has a lot of girls who are not pros, that's the whole idea. They are just doing it on the side and maybe they do it for a short while. Well aware that I'm not going to be meeting the love of my life. Like most guys who visit Thailand, I'm just there to have a good time. Nothing more, nothing less. To me, a quick 10-minute fuck is not a good time. I guess when it comes to women, I'm also looking for personal connection / chemistry / good vibes. If it's not there, it feels like a big waste of time / money. Another poster before me said it best: the ones that felt less transactional were the most enjoyable.

Being with a mannequin is a great way to put it. That's how most Thermae girls are: they put in zero effort, relying instead on their youth / good looks. Yes, some girls at Thermae do charge higher prices. One girl with a really cute face quoted me 4000 baht for ST. Dude, I first went to Thermae in 99, the year moved to Bangkok. And I've been posting on this forum for well over two decades. During my first 10 years here I probably took well over 200 girls from Thermae. So yes, I've been there. Believe it or not one's eyes tend to change the longer one has been here. What I found attractive 25 years ago is not what I find attractive now. And one of the most unattractive things about the ladies in Thermae now is the attitudes. It used to be a very interactive place. You'd walk around once and numerous girls would grab your unit, look you straight in the eye, and say go with you. They were aggressive and fun and like to party. Now it's a bunch of wallflowers. And overall I don't think the performance is in any way what it used to be.
