I'm planning a trip to Jakarta in Feb 17-25 and leave before Ramadan begins on Feb 28th. Checking if anyone knows whether businesses and activities will be operating as usual till a few days before the city quiets down for Ramadan.

I actually appreciate the info and the posts. I'm not above occasionally slumming to find gems, although now I'm more inclined to pay premiums for guaranteed hot girls with good service. Terminal 5 I had to pay before with cash same as terminal 2.

Do you feel comfortable using credit card at these type of places.

Either your not having visa master card? Or your charged as a hotel type business service on your card by classic?

Visa master do block your card if they have issues with grey area business or back home country banks ethics or get flagged or even staff could swipe your card to be charged later and you end up with cancelled card.

If you stay only a week or two versus these staying months maybe better not use cards at these type of places?

BTW you should calculate total cost not just $23 per one.

I have a capital one venture x which is a visa card. Just shows up as "NEW CLS. Other Services - $23.66". Nothing really to worry about. If it doesn't work I have cash on hand. If I get random charges I dispute pretty easily. If you don't care about BBFS then you're giving the girl a 100 k tip at most. Which is like another $6 I guess. There's not really any other costs.

We ended up each pulling our girls at the fishbowl place that charges 350 k. I picked the smallest prettiest girl I saw there but in the room her service was bad. Glad you posted your experience. In the past, I thought I saw references of the old alleyways on the same Jalan as New Wijaya 77, but further north on Jl Gedong Panjang just past the railroad tracks near Jl Rw Bebek Selatan. I'm not sure if that place was demolished by government order or if it survived demolition and may have reopened. Sounds like your Train Tracks was actually a different place, along the same train tracks, but further west just a few hundred meters. The alley wasn't at the Train Track grade level, I heard it was underneath it. But yeah, I don't know if it's permanently closed or not.

As for bored or cheap, sometimes I wonder if it's either. Probably just stupid and adventurous. That's how I felt walking the alleys near Gajah Mada and Mangga Besar. The alleys are dirty dirty dirty, and old women try to pull you inside to show you who's available. Inside the apartments, where each room is totally lived in, are the rejects of the business. Looks in the 6 to 7 range, questionable cleanliness, environment not pleasant to be in at all, but I guess it beats a plywood free standing box.
