Doxycycline sounds like a good idea.

HOW ABOUT PrEP? Is that available in pharmacies in Pattaya? I think preventing HIV has to be priority number 1.

One other option I found on my last trip was to use doxycycline. It's used to prevent most STDs, but not HIV. You take 1 pill after the deed. Most street pharmacies sell it by the pill or by packs. I think 5 cost me 200 baht. Twice when a girl asked for condom I showed her the doxy and told her what it was and both agreed BBFS. One even asked for a pill for herself!

However, as SubCommander says, if the girl asks for cover anyway, I always obey. Make the girl happy and she'll make you happy.

There are many posters who make claims about about doing this or that. Negotiating something is not closing the deal. Someone says I paid 2000 THB. I don't believe it. And that's not me saying it's the US CDC, there are ongoing studies but the ones so far have shown no correlation between use of preventive doxycycline and microbial resistance.

I read where doxycycline may cause antibiotic resistance. This means that your infection won't respond to doxycycline or other antibiotics in the future.
