This is a news item for those who don't know what bargirls in Pattaya do when they get off work. The context is that there is a surplus of young women in Pattaya, so young Thai men are a scarce and valuable commodity. So, bargirls often go to host bars like these when their bars close, where they buy drinks for young Thai men, and go home with them after business hours (usually 7 am).
In the news story, 4 bars were raided, but there are dozens in Pattaya. When the story mentions "customers", they are referring to women.
Don't get me started on tomboy bars.
My point is that there are not many horny bargirls. Even after a Soi 6 girls fucks a handful of customers, she will take her money to a host bar after work and blow it on a Thai man.

Posts: 2883My problem with girlfriends is a shallow one. I'm almost 70 and will not, under any circumstances, blast my loathsome spew of reproduction into any girl older than 30, and she better look younger. I'm not going to live with someone that young tho.

Posts: 5457The discussion about buying a condo as a rental investment is theoretical, since pitfalls of that business are many.
I bought a condo in Pattaya as a place to live, nothing more.

Because so many lonely guys come to Thailand to find a wife or GF, run into a lady who provides amazing sex, settle down into a committed relationship, and then the Thai lady announces she cannot have sex anymore. So, the lonely guy goes to a local bar and strikes up a relationship with a bargirl. Good for the wife / GF, since when he is gone, she can play with her Thai man.
It's a trap!

You have not factored in your Thai taxes, and boy, will you have a paper trail with having to report renters' information to immigration. You'the be paying at least 25% not counting any money brought over. And maintenance? Of course, for 10 years that would be a tidy sum.

Are you saying "age appropriate" women are not eager sex partners in Thailand? That issue is a critical so intel is most welcome.

NOT seeking a tute, ex bar girl. I'm a well dressed average looking gentleman, never abusive or unkind, but am firm on keeping to agreements. I'm working with SKI money (Spending Kids Inheritance) so can afford high end. But I have been around. I have seen & am wary.
Having just been widowed it will be awhile before I"m ready but I will be ready within 12 months. Your help is truly appreciated.

In any case, nobody is giving you an advice as nobody has any information on your situation.
People are telling you to be cautious with these kind of investment, and what they are saying does not sound silly.
People looking for a place to stay on long term in Pattaya can easily find a good place for under 8000 baht (all included), which is half the price you used in your explanation.
Besides, if you were really cashing in as much as you're saying, you wouldn't be looking for such investments. Just saying.

You won't have any trouble finding your choice of lovely companions. And you don't need to go to Hua Hin, as someone else suggested. If you're not in country yet, or even if you are, you can start by talking to the ladies on thaiflirting.com and thaifriendly.com . Also, there are many groups on Facebook that exist solely for the purpose of pairing up Thai ladies with Western gentlemen. Good luck!

It's common for the 51% of the units to remain unfinished, unless a Thai citizen buys one. That's one of the reason you see so many empty condo buildings at night.
