Not everyone would agree with this, but I do. Long gone are my days of arriving at (any) airport 45 minutes prior to departure, racing thru to the security line with my online boarding pass and just a backpack, hoping I didn't miss a flight (I did). I always go to Manila the night before any flight out of NAIA, and I try to plan my departure flights on weekends, specifically Sundays. Previously Saturdays and Sundays, the traffic was light. But since the covid re-opening, Saturday traffic can be just as crappy as Monday-Friday.

Newb or not, any number of traffic-related items can stop a caravan in its tracks in Phils. Not only in Manila, but anywhere. Traffic is light, but a particular surface street is torn up due to construction (for months on end), another street in the area is flooded, and yet another street has a large lorry or delivery truck that tried to make a left turn but couldn't make it, can not back up (or tried to), and is completely blocking all lanes of traffic. A dozen ways to find a traffic cluster-f*ck just driving around Phils. Your bus (or private taxi) is not immune.

I think it was last year, about June / July, that a number of us here reported that due to a tropical storm over more than a week, an ongoing flood happened across the expressway, causing 8-9-10 hour drives from AC to Manila for an entire week. See pic. At the time, the normal 10 minute ride from my hotel near WS to the freeway took an hour (blue line), the normal 35-45 minute ride from the AC freeway entrance to San Fernando (red line) took about 6 hours (highway parking lot), and just past SF on the freeway we finally hit the flooded area. Traffic had slowed at the flooded area to just a few KM / H, gumming up the southbound traffic to the north behind us all the way past AC. The water was flowing across the highway at a 90 degree angle, moving slowly, and it was only about 30 meters to go thru. After that, we all accelerated to highway speed, and the rest of the trip to Makati (green line) took less than an hour. I was in a private taxi. The driver had to drop me at my hotel, then head to NAIA to pick up a waiting passenger to take him back to AC.

One never knows.

A year ago I was on a flight from a province city to Manila. The takeoff was delayed for 2 hours due to weather. Once the skies cleared the flight was delayed again for hours as the Manila runway and gates were overloaded. As a foreigner I was recognized by another foreign and he started to complain excessively to me as he had departing flight later that evening to back to the home country.

As it turned out he missed his flight home that evening. He had to pay big time for a new flight the next day. He complained that he had to get back to work after landing and that he could lose his job if he was late by a day. I thought the guy was going to have a heart attack. It was stressful just to listen to him. Why he didn't plan for an extra day was beyond me.

Me on the other hand was spending the night in Manila and flying home the next day. I always stay the night before in a hotel near T3. I always have one of my proven AC performers spend the night with me before my flight out. In the morning we go to T3, I check in for my flight and she hops on the Genesis bus to AC. One girl will go to visit her family in Manila. I had girls that I paid the barfine and we rode the bus to Manila together in the afternoon and they were back to work the next day. FYI Savoy and Holiday Inn Express do not ask for the girl's ID's. You can book a room for 2 and only check in with your ID. Savoy's breakfast is better than Holiday Inn. Holiday Inn's room and bathroom is better than Savoy's.

Club Atlantis used to be so busy, that you couldn't even enter, forget about finding a seat. Here are some pics from the old times when they were doing blowjob contests on stage, and the place was packed, and yes cameras were allowed. I cannot understand how some idiot that put lots of money into it to buy it can ruin it like it is now, unless it's all used as a front for some big money laundering scheme.

Thanks for the photos of atlantis bar, I was at the opening night some 20 years ago, for many years atlantis held the number 1 spot with over 200 slim young great looking girls, most nights one could close his eyes reach out and any girl he happened to touch would have been a high quality bar fine, I remember bar fines all night were 1,200 peso from atlantis bar and can't think of a visit when I did not leave with a few girls in tow.

Atlantis bar, dead, a handful of below average plumpers and two customers (Asians).

Carousel bar, 3 fat old expats sitting outside at the barrel tables, no other customers, no lookers (girls).

Dollhouse bar, 2 fat older greeter girls outside, popped our heads in but never stayed because girls inside were worse than outside.

Hera bar, one cubby greeter girls outside, half a dozen girls inside playing on their phones, moved on.

Geckos bar, a very over weight door girl in grey dress sitting on stool outside, very quiet inside for girls and punters.

Lollipop bar, an even fatter door girl than geckos bar sitting on a stool outside in a black dress, in truth she needed two stool to park that huge bum, thought bars were meant to put the pretties and slimmer girls outside to attract punters to go inside, guess lollipop must be having a hard time employing slim girls because it was not much better inside,1 drink and got the hell out.

Disclaimer: I am writing this while still somewhat drunk from the night. Please excuse any typos or incoherencies.

My last night in Angeles City and the Philippines. I message fellow ISG member Jusride, a solid wingman who I recommend to anyone else on this board, who is going to barfine one of his favorite girls from dollhouse and take her to dinner. We plan on meeting for barhopping later. I decide to go out at around 7:30, a bit early in my opinion but I wanted to see if I could get a girl early. To my surprise I see a number of guys, mainly Koreans, with some very nice eye candy on my trike ride to walking street. In my mind, I think that there must be something special about tonight with so many attractive girls available. Even as I get to walking street I see a number of attractive girls with guys. As I walk into some of the bars, my opinion quickly changes. It was rather bad. Perhaps one of the worst nights I have seen since I have come to AC. I stop by a number of bars, some just to see the selection and some where I have a drink (San Mig Light). Though I don't find anything I particularly like. In my travels I learn that 10 girls have been barfined from XS (an hour after they opened) and 5 girls have been barfined from Avalon in a similar timeframe which explains some of the attractive girls I saw during my entrance to walking street. My final stop is Avalon which I have posted on before. I sit down with a beer and ask for A, my previous multiple time barfine. I am told that she isn't feeling well and is not available and that she will be performing but will likely go home after her performances. Perhaps this is true, perhaps I pissed her off the last time we met, I don't know but it appears I would not be having A for my last night. I sit to watch some performances and in the mean time Jusride finds me in Avalon and sits with me with his girl. I call another girl from the stage over and we talk for a bit. She finishes her drink and she tells me she is going to the bathroom. She goes to the bathroom but then immediately goes back on stage. To me this is unacceptable. I would have considered barfining her but this kind of behavior to me indicates and negative experiences in the future. After the third show I am told there will be a fourth and final show for the night after which the dancers will come on stage and be available either for drinks or barfine, depending on the girl. I decide I have had enough. There were some pretty dancers but at this point I have had enough alcohol to be ok with not taking a girl home. I was pretty close to falling asleep and frankly I preferred saving my pesos rather than risk a negative experience. I visited Jusride in dollhouse where his girl tried to hook me up with a girl there. I passed and quickly left to go back to my hotel where I now lie on my bed to write this report. I messaged A on facebook to get some closure on my side as I hoped to at least say a goodbye to her today. Honestly, I write this report as my own personal catharsis rather than trying to add any sort of value to the forum. Though I hope some others may find some useful information from here.

In the end, in AC there are good days and there are bad days. There seems to be some debate between forum users on how good it is in AC and I can understand both sides of it. Some days there are tons of pretty girls and you have a great experience with one of them. Some days you take a pretty girl out, think you did all the right things, only for the experience to be bad once you hit the bedroom. Some days you realize that all the good talent was scooped up by 7 PM and you have little to work with. Depending on the trip and your luck, you may find that some or all of these things happen to you. I wish I had better closure to the trip but in the end I think this was the push I needed to explore other places. I will be travelling to HK tomorrow and potentially to Thailand after that. I have heard from many that Pattaya is better than AC and Bangkok than Manila so I hope to see for myself.

Hey all, I'm from the USA I haven't gone trans-pacific yet as my sole previous mongering trip was to sao paolo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina. (if anyone is heading to those areas ID be happy to provide general info / contacts as well). Looking to expand with a trip to SEA, still a few months out but trying to get some good leads.

If you find yourself in T3 early after checking in and before passport control you can take the escalator up to the 4th floor for plenty of restaurants. BTW, a little opposite of Kenny Rogers is a foot / body massage place, a great way to kill some time.

There is also the Wings capsule hotel upstairs at T3. It's great for a rest or simply to get away from he crowds before take off. Note it is on the public side so you can check in but still need to go through immigration.

Damn, had no idea that Clark was an international airport, just assumed it was a relic of Clark Air Field from WW11. I've already bought a ticket on Thai Air leaving MNL on a Tuesday at 1:10 pm. Don't know what terminal it leaves from, my trip is more than a month away. Anyway, if it leaves from T3 with this 1:10 pm departure time what time should I board the Genesis bus in AC Tuesday morning to safely get me there in plenty of time to make my flight?

Using the standard "Arrive 3 hours prior to an international flight" thing:

1) Departure NAIA 1:10 pm, arrive NAIA 10:10 am.

2) Depart SM Clark on the 8 am bus for the 2-hour trip, to arrive about 10 am NAIA.

3) Some might say that weekday traffic can be bad in Manila, so depart SM Clark an hour earlier on the 7 am bus to be safe. Arriving late for any reason and you're effed.

Thai Airways flys out of NAIA Terminal 3. Genesis buses leave SM Mall, 6:30 am, 7:30 am, 8:30 am and 9:00 am for your purpose. The bus ride can be anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours depending on the traffic and day of the week. Sundays being the less traffic day.

The morning buses tend to be more full. Sometimes maxed out. I suggest you are there at least 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled departure time. The Thai plane is a big bird and probably a long check in line. Some times it can take 30-45 minutes to get through the T3 passport control and security.

With all that said, I suggest the 7:30 am bus in case it is full you can catch the 8:30 am bus and not stress out over it. BTW, there might be a man there manning the kiosk and if it is crowded he will take down names on the reservation list. The thin baldheaded man will do this. The other guys are worthless.

Why not go to Thailand instead? Walk into any of the well known BJ bars or MPs and you will 100% get the swallow. GS will also be possible in places known for PSE like Tulip. Plus girls are prettier and there are a lot more of them. Cost is about the same anyway and there is other things like culture, great food and beaches in Thailand. If you are flying all the way from the US, don't go some third world shit hole which is long long past its hey day.
