Posts: 74You haven't seen me? I always want to have a beer in peace and watch what's going on. I either go up to the girls myself or stand in front of them for a while and then the mom comes. Usually they all stand at the entrance to fish out the newbies. It's like a line of moms who come one after the other. The disadvantage of this approach is that one or the other cannot be found again because it has a customer.

Sorry but have to ask, why would you want to carry around that much cash? I certainly would not. I wouldn't spend that much in Jakarta in an entire week.

Posts: 17Use an ATM connected to a bank
For safety reasons, always use an ATM connected to a bank. There's security and if your card gets stuck in the ATM, security can have the ATM opened and return you your card right away.
Many ATMs have a sticker showing either 100 ks or 50 ks notes.
100's ATM will give more money than 50's.
Most 100's have a 20 million limit per day withdrawal when you withdraw multiple times.

Posts: 104Not sure which bank it was but there are two ATMs on the left corner as soon as you cross the Immigration and Customs at Jakarta Airport. Those ATMs were able to disperse 2. 5 M for me (not sure what was the limit). I have seen it in few countries where the ATMs don't show a limit and if the amount you try to withdraw is more than what can fit in the ATM's opening, it doesn't open the door but will still debit the money from your account. It will be annoying during travel to handle these situations at a bank in a non english speaking country. So my advice would be to withdraw twice.

I forgot my card (no forex fee debit card) in one of the ATMs. There is no way of getting it back and they just destroy it later. Thankfully I had another no forex fee backup card. I had to order a replacement card after coming back to my home country. So make sure to take your card after the transaction is done.

Posts: 189The high limit ones are HSBC. The others have been low and frankly gotten lower in the last 5 years. That being said, I usually hit the BNI for 2. 5 as it's the highest you can go. As per previous posts, decline the banks conversion because their rate builds in a hefty fee. Use an ATM card that reimburses you ATM fees back. If you need 5 M, draw the funds twice if you haven't hit your accounts day limit.

Posts: 74I traveled a lot in Jakarta and didn't find a single ATM where the limit was less than 1.5 million. I have two credit cards and withdraw 2.5 million every day. I've also read that if you withdraw twice, your card can be taken. I know Emporium, Club 1001, Classic, Travel all accept card payments. Maybe I'm too scared, but in a country with such strict legislation, paying with cards in such shops is not advisable.

Posts: 2125Most ATMs I used while there had a limit of 1.2 million IDR in 100 k bills or 1.25 million IDR in 50 k bills. Including BNI, BRI, Link, and the 2 ATMs at classic. There is however no limit to the amount of transactions you can do. So as long as your card issuer doesn't charge any fees you can just do back to back transactions (4 times of the 1.25 million) to get to thrle 5 million you want. That being said 5 million actually would be like a brick of cash especially if it was in 50 k notes. There is no reason to need that much cash all at once unless going to 1001 or emporium but they accept cards from what I understand. Most the time 1 million per day was sufficient during my stay and I would pref6 the blue 50 k notes as opposed to the red 100 k notes because when paying for a 30 k lunch at a cheap local restaurant or the street food tents, they wouldn't always have change for the 100 k note and then you are sitting around waiting for them to go get change, just like using a 100 k note in Colombia.

I asked ChatGPT which ATMs were best for foreigners in Jakarta.
According to ChatGPT, BNI, Bank Mandiri and BRI have transaction limits as high as 5 million. In this thread we have usually been complaining ATMs will give you no more than half that sum. Has anyone here here been lucky enough to get 5 million from these ATMs?
I stress more about money logistics these days than anything else as payment means often turn out the limiting factor, especially since getting replacement for credits cards is not as straightforward in my case as it is for some mongers who live in the same country as their issuing bank.

Posts: 63New Year's Day at Classic Terminal 2
Sugar Spa, Kimochi Mabes, Emporium were all closed for New Year's Day, so it was back to Terminal 2. This time I arrived around 7:00 PM. There were much less customers and it looked like the girls that were available were better looking. Maybe it is better to go earlier?
When you first enter, a mamasan always comes up to you but I like to go get a drink first. They will leave me alone after this but my problem is that when I am ready and I see a girl I am interested in, I am not sure which mamasan to go to or I have to go find the mamasan for that group. How do other guys handle this?
I selected a nice girl Rahma this time. She was in a black low-cut dress with spaghetti straps. I could tell she would have a nice rack and that's what did it for me. When we got to the room and showered. While we were on the bed, she asked me if I wanted to use a condom. I said no condom and she said she wanted a tip. I offered 200 k and she countered with 500 k. I countered with 300 k and she countered that with 400 k. I agreed to that to just get on with it. I know I probably paid too much but it's hard to bargain when you're both naked and I have a raging hard on.
The service was pretty standard, nothing special to note. I left satisfied. Compared to the girl from yesterday this girl was more attractive but less affectionate.
