I don't think one should ever pay before the deed is done with a SG. I'm mostly interested in hearing what other guys recent experiences are in SF, and if there is a trend in girls demanding payment upfront. Overall, there is good advice in this post. However there are for sure some exceptions to the North-South rule.

A few:

+ One of the most dangerous areas overall is SantaFe, which of course sits in the center north-south.

+ Parque LOS Hippies area & to the west across Carracas can be sketchy yet many consider it in the "North".

+ Some people consider the north to start around 72 (Ave Chile / Calle 72) in the center Chapinero. Others consider it around Zona T or El Virrey. Others consider the north to be Usaquen and above. So, it's relative. In general, all of those places are safe. But as you mention things happen everywhere and that's not unique to Colombia.

+ There are a few barrios peligroso in the north like cerro norte, santa cecilia, el castilo. But you're not likely to accidentally stumble into them.

+ Some not so great areas in Engativa, but you aren't likely to go there as a destination, but might travel through there on way to / from airport.

+ There really aren't any "gentrified" neighborhoods in the south that I am aware of. But there are some conjuntos or apartment buildings which for sure are safer than others.

Best advice of all is to not automatically think someone is trustworthy because they say they are from the north, nor to think someone is not a good person because they live in the south.

Nice info more precise than I went into but good advice all the same. When I said north I was basically referring to Chico Norte area but as you say in each area has pockets to the contrary. The south area has many many wonderful people. My girls family lives in Soacha, a Hard working family, dads a taxi driver and mom cleans offices, no one ever committed a crime but have been victims of quite a few Phone robbers. But her dad was shot in the leg and head and spent over a month in a coma. They have lived in the south area for years and years and know the dangers all too well of Bogota and are street savvy and yet they have suffered in different areas of the city so as a newbee best you take extreme caution. Use taxis why Ubers especially at night even if it's only a few blocks. I love Colombia and Bogota has been my go to place for years but be safe and enjoy it.

There are 2 nice, slim girls in Tantras at the moment that I've been having fun with. Since you never know the girls names up front it seems pointless to say their names. There are other reviews here of Tantras as well as my own but I'll write details for those that may be new to this.

Search google maps for Tantras spa. It's on Carrera 20 a just north of Calle 72 (south of Calle 72 Carrera 20 a becomes Carrera 17 which may confuse you if you don't zoom in on maps and wondering if that's the place). There are 2 Tantras. On the corner of Carrera 20 a and Calle 72 is the tantras bar. I haven't been in there as I'm mostly visiting during the day but I imagine in the evening it may be good but I believe the girls all move around between the bar and the spa depending on what's busier. From a prior report it appears that if you take a girl up from the bar the girls in the spa get priority on the rooms if all the rooms are busy. That was from a few months ago so not sure if that's still the case just FYI.

The spa location is a white door in between 2 shops (ferre pinturas and apicultura). On my 1st visit to the spa there was a guy in a tantras jacket outside the bar and I asked him "chicas en spa" and he walked me over, buzzed the door and let me in. I think best practice though is to probably go there with the exact amount to give the girl behind the counter.

From here it depends. Sometimes the girl will confirm what you want before going into the room or leave to get freshened up. The general service included with the time paid with the girl at the counter is BBBJ and sex multiple positions with 1 shot. Not really something that's exactly like either one. Nothing like a FKK place here. Of course the Gogo bars are just essentially girls up on stage that you can invite down for a drink and so that's basically what the SF clubs are just that the girls aren't all up on the stage. It's more like a conventional strip club in the States. Every so often a girl will be up on the stage dancing naked and the other girls are just standing / wandering around.
