To be clear, I am not American. To say wages are higher in the rest of world is a rather ignorant inaccurate statement as most waiters would be on minimum wage or under in large tracts of the World. I respect your point about culture in Japan but it definitely doesn't travel with Japanese emigrants working, studying and living in my Country, they tip very generously.
