    Nakhon Ratchasima (aka Korat)

    Fargler.
Nakon Ratchasim is also known as Korat. It is the 3rd largest city in Thailand and home of a former military air base during the Vietnam War. Wide range of hotel accomodations availble. Not far from Pimai which has anciet Khmer ruins almost identical to those you would see in the Angkor sites in Cambodia. Not a mongering destination. Suggest you check YouTube for ideas of what there is to see or do there. I've been there twice, once by commerical plane out of BKK and once by private car from BKK.

    Last minute train travel

Same here. I hate making plans. I stay until I'm ready to go, then I leave. Looks like that's not going to work so well in Thailand.

I rode to Kanchanaburi on a windows-open coach. About 3. 5 hours? I wasn't miserable when I arrived, but I surely needed water. I didn't realize how much it took out of me until later than day. I didn't have energy for anything other than a 7-11 trip for dinner. Ugh. Might have been the 87 beers I had the night before.

I'm headed to Udon Thani, and purchased a plane ticket. Fuck that 8+ hour train ride. Too boring. However, I was thinking of stopping in several small towns on my way back. Like 2-3 days in each.

Random info for anyone making the trip from BKK to Hua Hin or back: On the way there I just showed up at Krung Thep Aphiwat train station. The coaches with air conditioning were all sold out and I had to wait an extra hour for the next available. No fucking way I am riding 3+ hours without A / see! On the way back (Sunday) I tried to book a seat on a full size bus (Roong Reuang coach) but the next 3 or 4 were sold out. I ended up on a minivan leaving out of Bluport. Minivan seats suck, there is no luggage storage so everyone has their backpack in their lap. Sucks.

    Hh tr #2

Ended up hooking up with the gal from Beavers Bar a couple times during the day. She told me she is leaving the bar and returning to her home in Isaan because, "Farang custormers don't like me". I'm guessing there is much more to the story.

The bar on Soi 80 that I had previously thought was called "Linda's Bar" is actually called Rindha's Bar. Not too many ladies working there. But the mamasan is nice. The lady who told me she was on her period the first time I dropped in said she was good to go now, so spent the past few evenings with her.

A couple days ago I dropped in Sabai Massage on Pook Suk road. A younger looking lady caught my eye so I took her up on a oil massage. She was very friendly. When I asked her name, she said something that sounded like "Bew". She did a nice job. I fell into a deep sleep laying on my stomach. I eventually awoke and she told me flip over on my back. Asked if I wanted a "special massage". I knew I was too tired for anything, but definitely would return to see her when I have more energy.

Regarding the drive to HH from the Samuk Sakon area, that overpass they have been working on for at least the last few years always looks the same to me. If they are making progress, I can't notice where the progress is. There was a section of the overpass under construction that collapsed a while back (maybe 8 months ago?

Lastly, I realize we all have our own preferences. I'm not one to tell anyone where they should go or what they should do in Thailand. But to be able to walk around Soi 80 and Soi Bintabaht and literally see there are so many ladies available and ready for you. It's a really nice thing for me. I sometimes wonder why people come here during the low season knowing HH is not a great "party" scene, then complain that nothing is going on here. For me to be able to walk into any bar and have the pick of the litter is quite special. And I have seen several ladies who appear to be in their young 20's and quite good looking and ready. So for those who need the rush of Bangkok and Pattaya and who stay away from HH. Thank you. I appreciate you opening up worlds of opportunities for me.

You're damn right. Roong Reuang has busses EVERY HOUR, and at 8 AM when I got online and checked, the next bookable bus was at 4 PM.

I couldn't buy ANY train ticket before 4 PM, and even that was in third class (open coach).

I thought it was slow season? I was sure that with all those options available, I didn't have to plan. Dumbass.

The minivan is half price but NOT WORTH IT. Stop start stop start stop start, random locals getting on and off between stops (can't really blame the bus driver, making a few extra bucks).

There is NO overhead storage for bags. There is NO underbus storage for bags.

Finally a youthful (24 years) massage provider near the corner of 94 and Soi Bon Gai rescued me. There are like 5 parlors in a row. I think the one I chose was called Goldfingers. Her smile and enthusiasm convinced me to step inside, and a soon as I saw the stairs going up I knew I had a chance at happiness. Standard fees for hour massage plus BBBJ. 3 floors up so we could "make some noise".

I kept looking for FS providers but ended up repeating with her two days later as I still hadn't found anything in the bars.

However I would like to say that Hua Hin has some great restaurants and a quiet, chill vibe. Nice change of pace from Soi 22. I recommend Green Onion for BBQ and Chili.

    Hua Hin TR #1

Went to Beaver Bar Sunday evening. It was dead. 6 or 8 ladies out front all bored. I wanted to look at the new extension of the place called Beavers Barn. The owner has put a lot of $$ into making this a good venue. Bought a drink for a 30 year old spinner who had just started working there. After purchasing a drink for her, she informed me that she is only there essentially to play pool with customers, but all of the ladies sitting out front were available for BF. Decided to leave after one drink. Don't know how bar owners in HH make any $$.

Went to Soi 80. Stumbled in to what I think is called Linda Bar, but now looking on Google Maps can't find a bar named Linda Bar. It is located close to Jimmy's. Bought two drinks for a 25 year old Isaan gal. She seemed very happy, touchy-feely, and was happy when I selected Isaan music on the bar music screen. After two drinks I asked if she would like to go with me. She said she was on her period. Glad I asked. Closed the bill and left.

Walked down to Nanny Bar. The selection last year was much better. But now, if GILF's are your thing, you will be very happy.

Next day returned to Beaver Bar. There were only 2 or three ladies working. One, a thick 22 year old greeted me right away. We played pool and had a few drinks. I brought her back to the hotel. We had some more drinks and some fun. Regular BF of 500.

Went to Pee Mai massage today. An older lady grabbed me right away. Good service toward the end. After I asked her how much, she said 300 to the owner. I asked her "how much for you? I received the typical reply "up to you". Probably gave her a little more than what she would have excepted. Been to Pee Mai twice and always had good service, though she gave the worst massage I've ever experienced.

    More to follow.

    2) If you turn right as soon as you cross the railway lines you can walk a couple of hundred yards and there is a rock bar on the left. Behind this there is another Wonderland style set up, but whenever I've been there half the bars are closed down.

    3) Carry straight on down Soi 94 and after Wonderland there are loads of bar on both sides of the road. According to Youtube there is a new Irish bar (Scruffy Murphy's) at the junction with Soi Mae Kep 2. (looks quite good).

Overall it's a bit hit and miss where any talent might be found. I'm certain if you look long enough you will find something of interest.
Just returned home from a trip Hua Hin and agree with your description of Soi 94. Hua Hin was as expected for this time of year. Lots of empty bars with girls sitting around looking bored. Did seem to be a few more young cuties scattered around than last year. I spent more time on Soi 80 this year than on Soi Bentabaht. Also went to Soi 94 a couple of times. The Irish bar you mentioned looked good but never made it inside.

I saw a video on youtube talking about Beaver's Bar, and it looked like a possibility.

    Thoughts?

    Keeping it 100!

This essay keeps it real! Very surprised the Mail got such detailed access and information. Everything I read (although specific to Hua Hin) was dead on point for Thailand.

    Thanks for sharing it!
