I completely disagree with your negotiating strategy. I always ask: How much?.

The problem with guys that talking about and accepting the higher rates is because that's what they are settling for. I never ask a girl How much? That's a rookie mistake that even some so called veterans make. I always approach a girl with my rate first and negotiate from there. If you ask the girl "How much?" then of course she is going to shoot high. It's a no brainer and some guys don't get that. If you make your offer first your chances are better.
