Hit Bangkok for a few days before heading north for trekking. Hit four spots -.

Started with Yu at Aries. Figured I'd splurge as she has my preferred figure, and wanted to see if it was worth the hype. I can say as far as Nuru experiences go, it was definitely top shelf. I was in Bangkok earlier this week and I stopped in at the Wood Bar for a quick one. They have a dual pricing scheme, which the girls in white dresses charging 800 THB and the girls in black dresses charging 1000. However, out of the 20+ girls working on a Monday at 4 pm, only one was wearing a white dress and all the rest were wearing black. Ideally, price categories would correspond with service quality, but that's never the case. As for looks, I can judge that on my own, and don't need a certificate that someone was a model, as she sure won't be doing any modeling in the room.

What is true for one shop is not for another, I can give you some places in Bangkok where there is strict scrutiny and to be a "model" class (20 K / session) the girl will have to have proof (that they also show the customer).

Who knows? I suppose the class assigned a particular girl is based on supposed looks as perceived by northern Asian stereotypes or more probably it is based on a girl's popularity (demand). I could never figure it out because sometimes a lower ranked (less expensive) girl is more attractive to my farang eyes than any of the sideline girls and sometimes a soapy has two or 3 sideline girls that are simply gorgeous. So, my advice is simply go to one of the top 3 soapies (Black Caviar, Maria Massage, La Belle) and select the most attractive girl that you find there providing that she is smiling at you or at least showing some interest and most importantly do not allow a girl's assigned class to influence your decision. Sure, my approach can cost you a pretty baht, but this comes with the venue. I say, don't even go if you are concerned about the cost. Just bring your credit card and have a great time. It's old news, and not a rumor any more. They're going up with either a hotel / serviced apartment or a condo complex, I think they're still not 100% sure.

Most shops have moved, except ANGELS, they just cold-closed, no word about relocation.

What I'll miss most is the Jack-in-the-box massage shop. You'd be walking along Soi 26, opposite side of Snow White, when suddenly, right in front of you, a door would pop open and 2 masseuses would be standing there, sometimes in formal dresses, other times mini, encouraging you to enter.
