Posts: 159If you are looking for a GF hotel without joiner fee in the Nana / Soi 11 area which is in a similar price range as your Travelodge you could book the Ibis Styles in Soi 4, 200 m from Nana Plaza.

Posts: 2201Thanks, you might have a point regarding price. I took a taxi from Nana Plaza one time and it was frustrating getting in and moving. The driver refused to use the meter and insisted on a fixed price that shocked me as too high, I never did the taxi again. Tuk tuks don't seem to ever get stopped for traffic, they do a lot of weaving in and out of traffic. I'm afraid of motorcycles, so I simply don't get on them.

Posts: 471You give good advise and I normally agree with you but this statement is not true. You can take a taxi for the exact same price and it's air conditioned. The Tuk Tuk can't weave in and out of traffic like a motorbike can. Also a Bolt or Grab will probably be cheaper but you would have to wait.

Posts: 2201Hotel Solitaire is far down Soi 11 (or Soi 13), it's quite a walk for Soi 4 girls. I used to stay at Mercure, which is a bit closer on Soi 11, and had a couple Soi 4 girls refuse to walk that far. The solution is to pick whatever girl you like from anywhere along Soi 4 and take a tuk tuk to your hotel. Walk across Sukhumvit and there are normally a few tuk tuks waiting for you. I offer 100 baht, they counter 200 baht, we settle at 150 baht. Tuk tuk is easier, faster, and cheaper than taxi/grab/bolt. I've never had a girl refuse to get in a tuk tuk with me.

Posts: 133GF hotels around Soi 11
Greetings fellow Mongers,
I have preparing for my forthcoming trip to LOS after long time almost 12 years since I am on a budget this trip been searching for nice hotel around SOI 11 unfortunately my favorite Travel Lodge is not GF as the popular believe I drop them e-mail they said they charge 550 THB for each visitor.
I came across Galleria Sukhumvit 12 Bangkok by compass hospitality seems nice and according to their website they are GF if anyone stayed this hotel please share your experience also if you have any other recommendations for hotels within the same range and next to SOI 11 would be highly appreciated.
Cheers!

Posts: 65First Timer on International Trip. Hotel Question.
I may have asked a variation of this question before on a totally different thread, but sometimes when you phrase the question slightly differently and make it more open ended, you get totally different, and lot of times much better responses. So bear with me as I try to formulate my thoughts.
When choosing hotel of your choice, how close should I try and book close to where the action is, or it doesn't matter? Initially, I was trying to book Hotel Maison on Soi 2 and 4, which is as close to Nana Plaza for a good quality hotel, but there is some real value to be had if you go a little further out. And by further out I don't mean on the outskirts of the city or anything, but just a few Soi over. Another good hotel that caught my eye was Hotel Solitaire which is on Soi 13 . Not only it's a better price point but also I am told it's quieter.
Would it make a difference for GoGo girls or FLs to jump in Grab / Bolt with me and come as far as Soi 13, or would I get turned down a lot knowing how far it is for them to get back to where the action is. I will always give them more cash to get a return Bolt for them.

Posts: 235In this case I know the girl very well since many years back. But as you advice, it feels better to meet up in the reception.

What if the girl is not as advertised? Fat? Old? Ugly? Ladyboy? Always meet in the lobby, never in your room. A confrontation could be unpleasant in the lobby, but it could get truly ugly in your room. You might get stuck paying the full price for no services just to get her to leave.

Posts: 514Most hotels (not all) make the girls leave the ID at reception on arrival (the girls know this) so in such cases the reception will then phone your room to check you booked it and then either bring them up to you, send them up to you or ask you to come down and meet them.

If you are knew to it, I'd recommend maybe telling them to wait at the entrance or downstairs in the lobby, you to meet them there. At least that way you can check them out, make sure they are as advertised etc before you let them in!

Posts: 568Share your room number and name, she will then inform the reception. The reception will most probably take her ID. In a way it's kind safer for you in case things go sideways.

I'm checking in to a hotel tomorrow and my plan is to book an outcall, say at 9 pm. Should I wait for the the girl in reception or just tell her my name and room number and the staff help her to my room?
I'm new to outcall so any advice would be appreciated.

Posts: 79It is the Dynasty Grande; bar opened up a couple of weeks ago. But sound does not reach that far up if you are on the higher floors.

Posts: 1217Very likely if you are put in a room facing Soi 6. I passed by last night. Even when the band isn't playing, they have loud music. If you prefer any of these venues and need quiet, suggest to demand a room that is far as possible from facing Soi 6. AR.

I can recommend DoubleTree in Phrom Phong. Not the greatest, and not the cheapest, but the location is hard to beat.
