Meh. I've been going to Pattaya for 16 years, they've changed the visa policies countless times and will change it right back when they don't like the annual tourist numbers.

Border Runs via land are more difficult because the border crossings with Cambodia are closed. Only two were allowed in a 12 month period anyway before the change. Those making border runs via the Airlines are going to come under increased scrutiny. Thai Immigration has been randomly asking visitors to show proof of financial ability in cash. Make a lot of border runs and you are going get questioned as to why. You have always had to give a reason for an extension and they have NEVER been automatic.

The 60 days Free visa has been reduced to 30 days and its automatic renewal canceled. You now need to justify why you want to stay longer. Thailand finally did what needed to be done, and I'm all for it.

Most people posting or commenting on immigration policies in Thailand have very little actually experience other than entering in order to engage in International Trickin activities. I have extensive experience working with the Immigration in Thailand both DIY and using VISA agencies to represent my interests. Plus I have an Law Firm on retainer to keep my abreast of changes that might affect me and my immigration status.

For me it pays to have people to handle stuff!

I can't speak for Pattaya but whenever there are no or much fewer customers in Bangkok the hotter girls and especially those who also provide service worth a damn don't bother to show up for work. They go visit their family in their home province.

Bangkok right. But, there is disadvantages for me when it comes to Low Season. It is my favorite.
