I don't drink nor bar hop very much at all. Maybe binge one night for the whole trip.

I know the lay of the land and have an extensive Contacts list so my $/ shot is pretty low. Having said that, multiple girls per day isn't a rarity.

I travel around a lot while in country. This adds to my travel expenses and nightly accommodation costs.

    Another Cheap Charlie here G.

I don't need five star but can eat locally as opposed to Western. Except maybe street vendors.

I don't do the girly bars, but I do drink on the cheap. 7-11's in The Phils get raided of SML and Tanduay for when I want to relax with a bevvy at the hotel, or treat the girls to about three Red Horses. Any more than that can be problematic from experience.

Because my trips are business orientated to begin with, I need to have things planned in advance. So there's not a chance to make decisions on the run, like I used to when I was a fair bit younger. Therefore I have to sort an itinerary and hotels upfront.

I too had an extensive contact list. But I've trimmed it right back. Every now and then you need fresh talent, and even the ones you block on WhatsApp, still find a way of trying to contact you. The great thing about having the contact list is, you know you can get results immediately whilst looking for other options.

Great call from you a while back to keep a different phone just for The Phils.

Everyone has different personal expenses to consider. So it's hard to say how much money anyone would need to live or stay long-term.

If I didn't take the profitable FL route I'm experienced with, and started paying unreasonable bar fines, budgets would dramatically change for me.

I do not need top notch condo just a decent one which can be found 500 to 750 a month, got buddies in those, they are fine. I figure 2 to 2500 will be fine probably more than enough, its just a matter of pace. Buddies on pension have no problem with this amount. Throw in some cheap province girls as when your there you'll have time to look around and meet. They all tell me you got 3 k you'll have plenty of fun, again its pace, balls to the wall will not be necessary anymore.

Most financial advisors peg a basic retirement at $30 k per year. Anything above subsistence living will be closer to $50 k at least. Again, no financial planners seem to include fucking 19 yo students in their spreadsheets.

I enjoy the Philippines but living there full time would drive me nuts. I've also got commitments back home. Hence, I fall into the category above the two week warrior but short of the full time resident. A 58 day stay cost me about US $5 k per month inclusive of everything:

    $1000 International travel & visas.

$250 Domestic travel (P100/ day taxis and P1000/ week for bus or flights).

$2000 Hotels (2 star but good location).

$2000 Food & Drinks (P1500 per day for Western meals for me plus the occasional guest. I'm not a big drinker nor barfly).

$2000 Girls (P2000/ day province babe + 15 k Makati / Burgos blow out before leaving).

$1000 Sourcing costs (first dates, meals for her friends, finders fees, internet subscriptions etc).

$1000 Entertainment & Non mongering (P4000/ day diving plus tourist trips etc).

    $500 Data & Incidentals.

Generally, I travel light, live simply but move around a lot. Relocating has its costs as I don't get cheaper monthly rentals but has the advantage of if I like somewhere, I stay, if I don't, then I move elsewhere.

As a comparison, a domestic holiday would cost the same weekly, not monthly and there would be no pussy included. Certainly no 20 yo pussy.

    Enjoy. G.

I would like to rent a comfortable apartment, often cook because it is a passion of mine and get a GF experience. Is this possible in Indonesia? In which city? How easy is it?

However, I always give some gifts and money before we part ways.

If all this isn't easy I'd go elsewhere. Thank you.
Well, from Phils to Madagascar to Indonesia. He's baaaaaack. Jones, give us a FR of your Mindanao honey. Or the Malate honey. Did you find (temporary) true gastro-love?

Becoming too familiar with the currencies, thinking everything is cheap and disregarding the USD equivalent cost are the dangers. In USD, I've seen some crazy prices: $100 k for a flatscreen Tv when they first came out, $10 for a lettuce, $20 for a small box of Kellogs Cornflakes, $15 for an ice-cream.

I've also had a dinner for $1 per head, a beach side room for $15, kept taxis for days at $2 per hour. There are also slanderous rumours that I paid girls $7 for the weekend (in the good 'ol days) or $40 for a 24 HR LT (now) but those are totally unfounded. 😜.

    As always, YMMV. G.
At my age pussy is the prime factor in the equation, everything else is irrelevant. All other expenses can be adjusted, and lifestyle reinvented.

When I first moved here I was living like a Spartan (filipino) 100 P or less can fill you up at the local carinderia, but that was for experimental purposes, and after the experiment ended I reverted to "normality"
I always report to the US prices, because that's where my money comes from, and that's my reference, but I do that both ways: up and down. In the end it doesn't make much sense, the only thing I'm getting out of it is that the system is rigged in such a way for regular shmucks like me, regardless of the country, to get all your money, while keeping you alive to produce some more, only the level of comfort differs. Once you stop working, and don't need to be physically present to produce it, you have the freedom of taking the money allocated to keep you alive in an expensive place, and spend it in another where certain commodities that you're interested into, like "pork belies" or pussy are cheaper. Or maybe the weather is to your liking. And that's exactly what I'm doing.

    Deadbeat dad?

Expats relocate to the Philippines to enjoy an enhanced quality of life. I'm here for the tropical weather, low cost of living, and the easy poon harpooning.

But I'm sure there are more than a few here to escape nefarious aspects of their past lives.

If you know of an American who is in arrears in unpaid court-ordered child support payments, they soon could be in for a rude surprise, courtesy of the passport division of the USA State Department.

Old overdue threshold was $100,000. Looks like it's soon being dropped to a mere $2,500. The article says if the holder is outside the USA, they will have to apply for an emergency travel document to return to the States and face the music.

I've seen more than my share of foreign beggars on the streets here. I wonder how many of them have decided that living like a bum in paradise is preferable to returning home to face legal justice.

Your last paragraph is spot on, couldn't have said it better. I've tried to explain this to the local's but those type of women they have no idea what I'm talking about.

The Philippines is tooling up against China, but it is too little, too late. They did little to stop the early stages of the Chinese incursion, and now they are entrenched. Chinese fishing fleets are rapidly depleting Philippine fishing grounds, while their navy is driving off Filipino fishing boats from their traditional fisheries. The Chinese navy is also preventing the Philippines from exploring oil and gas resources within its own Exclusive Economic Zone, leaving it heavily dependent on energy imports for the foreseeable future.

The Philippines faces the challenge of ramping up defense spending during a period of high inflation, weakened growth, and slowing investment. At the same time, it must contend with energy shocks and natural disasters. With high odds of a global recession, remittances are likely to dry up further pressuring Filipino consumers.

Historically, economic downturns in the Philippines often lead to an increase in "acquisitive" crimes like theft and robbery. So, a breakdown of law and order will certainly send even the horniest of expats scampering back to the relative safety of their homelands across the waters. However, many will run into the economic repatriation barrier, unable to return home and restart life at current Western costs. Their options will be remaining in the Philippines as economic exiles or fleeing to a neighboring Southeast Asian country with better conditions.

There are numerous expats in the Philippines who live in remote provincial areas. Some live in nipa huts with a native Pinay to suck their marshmallow, and a few mangy mongrels to drive off thieves. Sometimes, they appear in YouTube videos boasting about living like kings. To them, living like a coconut farmer and rooting their country bumpkin beats jerking off in their condo in Miami or bumping raw raisins with the lovely old hens at their Florida nursing home.

Yeah despite the hate, Indian BPO operators are the biggest spenders in ph.

And Chinese host a lot of Pinoys and import PH banana and fruits.

BTW unrelated, does anybody know the cheapest dating site?

I used Facebook, loaded with Freelancers and scammers.

Looking for some casual connections if ever.

Got my plate Half full in Baguio though.
