We have more important issues than what type of plane wants to fly. The reason why it's taken so long is that Trump wants to change the color of the plane that screwed things up because the darker colors would cause the plane to heat up.

Even Ferdinand Marcos did not have the nerve to steal as brazenly from his country as Trump has. Here's what going to happen: he's going to get a stripped down plane and it be at his own expense. So, someone needs wake him up during one those cabinet meetings and remind that his mug won't be on our money and there will be no take home plane.

Indignant? You lost me when you made that leap. I asked a simple question: Would you be ok if Barack Obama used the presidency to dodge his taxes? There's nothing "legal" about what Trump is doing yet you make excuses for him as if you a spokespersons.

Oh, BTW, yes of course there is a direct NYT link for this Real News report. But it is blocked from freely reading it behind a paywall. So this link is a better one to post on message boards. As would be one for The Guardian. Just FYI.
5 takeaways from NY Times report on Trump's tax returns.

Gee, if I were the "successful, smart businesman" and blatantly obvious con man Trump is and owed one hell of a lot more than I ever earned, what would be the next slick move I might make to con 70 - 77 million dumb Repub hillbillies into putting me in a position to make someone else pay back all of my business loss debts? You know, like the American working men and women tax-payers.WASHINGTON AP A New York Times report that President Donald Trump paid just $750 in federal income tax the year he entered the White House - and, thanks to colossal losses, no income tax at all in 11 of the 18 years that the Times reviewed - served to raise doubts about Trump's self-image as a shrewd and successful businessman.
..........
TRUMP HAS FINANCED AN EXTRAVAGANT LIFESTYLE WITH THE USE OF BUSINESS EXPENSES.
..........
MANY OF HIS BEST-KNOWN BUSINESSES ARE MONEY-LOSERS
..........
FOREIGN VISITORS HAVE HELPED SUPPORT TRUMP'S PROPERTIES
..........
TRUMP WILL FACE FINANCIAL PRESSURE AS DEBTS COME DUE
Trump seems sure to face heavy financial pressures from the enormous pile of debt he has absorbed. The Times said the president appears to be responsible for $421 million in loans, most of which will come due within four years. On top of that, a $100 million mortgage on Trump Tower in New York will come due in 2022.
Lolol.
Yeah, you and Canada would be much better off staying miles away from any links to support your usual utterly made up horseshit excuses for your historic deadbeat know nothing, do nothing Repub heros.

He wasn't capable, especially in his last two years, given his dementia.
It's too bad Republican primary voters in 2020 didn't learn from watching Biden when they picked Trump. America's supposed to be a Democracy, not a Gerontocracy.

Posts: 2560I don't understand why you keep directing indignant, self-righteous posts at me that I agree with. Give my money to Trump? I've said more than once here that I would not do business with him, as a vendor, customer, investor, banker or in any other capacity.

Posts: 4832Are you fucking serious? Clinton was probably the second best president in my lifetime. Outside of his questionable morals, he was the total package: smart, funny, likeable, shrewd. Clinton was so good that he forced Republicans to up their game and Gingrich and his contact with America was the best Congressional campaign I have ever seen. It was government and its finest, and we all benefitted.

The great mystery of the Biden administration was who was actually operating the White House.
In fact, one of the only acts Biden did himself was the act of a petulant child. He endoresed Harris because he knew she was such a shit candidate and wanted to fuck over the Democratic party for abandoning him. The sacking of Biden was just further proof that you dumb Dems could give a shit about who won the vote. All that mattered was that you hold onto power. Once it looked like Biden had no chance after the debate, the lies of Biden being sharp as a tack went full mute.
Of course, when you call Trump voters stupid, you speak at an even louder volume about yourselves. If Biden was so fucking great for the economy and he won the primaries, how was sacking Biden not the stupidest move in the history of the Democratic party? Why did you Democrats deprive the country of four more years of the great Joe Biden? Hmmm?
When you are a cult member without principles, you cannot answer the question and so you won't. So do us all a favor and stop with your tired partisan drivel and grab a megaphone and find a street corner to go yell on. That is the profession that you are best suited for.

I guess that would partially explain why he filed a 10 billion dollar junk lawsuit against the US Taxpayer and was on both sides. You are free to sell all of your belongings and give your money to Trump if you please. The rest of us do not want to give our hard earned money away to someone who does not need it.

The returns are available for all the world to see, from 2015 to 2020, on Axios' web site. The NYT has seen returns for about 25 more years and reported on them. I'm not giving you links. You'll learn more if you do your own work.

That said, someone just looking at his returns would come away with a very unrealistic picture of the billionaire class and tax fairness. Most billionaires pay far more than their fair share. Trump, maybe not, at the federal level at least.

How do you know he had so much a $1 more than he owed in debts before he squeaked out a razor-thin election victory and immediately launched into trading political and government contract favors for Billions in bribes for the Trump Crime Family?

His handlers are working furiously to prevent anyone from ever seeing or auditing his tax returns going all the way back to the times when his daddy gave him $1 million, he lost that in a nanosecond and then his daddy plowed through a seemingless endless series of million dollar bailouts here, million dolar bailouts there, some illegal, some questionable until the day his daddy died and the million dollar bailouts came to a halt.
As boastful as Trump is about things he had nothing whatsoever to do with, why wouldn't he want the world to see what a brilliant businessman he was all those decades before and during his time as the most corrupt, grifting president in history?
My god. How horrible must it be for Trump to desperately hide his tax returns for ever and ever?

He didn't beg for the plane. It was offered to the USA government because the new air force one was delayed at least 7 years. The plane would have had a 2-3 year refurbishment so Trump would never ever fly in it. It would be for future presidents. Not a bad deal for America. Turning a million into billions still takes an extraordinary businessman. I would bet that very few in the world could do it. I know I couldn't turn a million into a billion. I was a successful businessman and did not make a billion but I suppose you did the way you discount Trump business sense.

Posts: 7973Elvis, Tiny and 77 million other Americans also voted for this:
As not voting for Clinton in 2016 was clearly a vote "for" the utterly predictable Great Repub / Trump Economic Disaster that followed as night follows day, not voting for Harris in 2024 was definitely a vote "for" whatever opportunistic Pandemic Trump can once again usher in by any means available to him. Only time will tell if or when this one will mutate into a much more virulent air-borne infection soread to humans. But there is no doubt Trump and his MAGAs will not be satisfied until it does.
FDA Approves Emergency Screwworm TreatmentAs Cases Rise To 7 In Texas, New Mexico.
June 11, 2026
https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroe...?streamIndex=0
As even the most devoted Repub MAGA can clearly see, Trump's methods and game plan to make some kind of deadly, economy-destroying Pandemic happen wherever and whenever possible contrary to all expert warnings for him not to do something so dangerous and stupid has not changed one iota since he did the exact same thing to usher in and exacerbate Trump"s (first) Pandemic in his first term. The return of screwworm comes after the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency, launched by the Trump administration, last year cut funding for a project dedicated to monitoring and containing New World screwworm in Central America.
The funding was axed days before the U.S. ended a temporary suspension of cattle imports from Mexico, meaning livestock was allowed to cross the border without any of the monitoring previously funded by the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID).
Agriculture officials and cattle industry leaders raised alarm about the cuts at the time and, for the last several months, pleaded with the government to step in as they monitored screwworm infections moving north through Mexicobut they were ignored, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller told NBC News.
It simply turns out people like Elvis, Tiny, Canada if he had his wish, and 77 million other Americans who could have but did not vote for Clinton, Biden and Harris are four square in favor of Great Economic Disasters, historic jobs destruction, thousands of school and business closures, global hyper-inflation on the heels of global supply-chain collapse and mass murdering at least a million Americans and millions more people around the world and now they have revealed a special love for higher beef prices, higher gas prices, higher grocery prices and rates of inflation all around while purchasing power for most Americans declines and for blood-thirsty Repub quagmire, counterproductive, forever Wars of Choice based on Repub lies.
And it isn't as though there hasn't been a 100 year consistent pattern of the these kind of catastrophes and disasters being the outcome whenever a Dem is not in the White House. The unavoidable awareness of it has been right there in front of them all their lives and more available to them for research over the past few decades than ever before.
Oh well.
We tried.

Posts: 2560Yes, the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board does tend to make excuses for Trump when it can do so without appearing ridiculous, and where it would not compromise the EB's strong convictions. You mentioned an exception, taking the administration's word for it, that Trump's in good health. That doesn't compromise their principles but it is ridiculous. They will pillory the President on occasion, and disagree with him more frequently.

While I may have said otherwise, the analogy between a couple of our esteemed board members and members of cults isn't true. They're more like fundamentalist Christians who believe every word in the Bible is true. Only instead of the Bible they're reading the Guardian, the NYT, et cetera.
I am not referring to Canada who said he thinks Trump is wrong about 25% of the time. Like you and me I suspect he takes Trump's side from time to time when he doesn't feel passionately about an issue, because otherwise the thread would be ridiculously one sided.

You conveniently leave out that Trump was given 1 million dollars by his daddy in 1969. Since that time he has been trading off on the family name. This includes the 6 bankruptcies (I lost count) like who runs businesses like that and brag about being successful in business?
