We have more important issues than what type of plane wants to fly. The reason why it's taken so long is that Trump wants to change the color of the plane that screwed things up because the darker colors would cause the plane to heat up.

Let's be clear the White House, Air Force One do not belong to Donald Trump. The White House is a workplace he doesn't get to make into something tack like Mar A Lago. The plane from Qatar is bribe and wants the American taxpayer to foot the bill retrofitting it so it can be gifted to him when he leaves office. Who does that?

Even Ferdinand Marcos did not have the nerve to steal as brazenly from his country as Trump has. Here's what going to happen: he's going to get a stripped down plane and it be at his own expense. So, someone needs wake him up during one those cabinet meetings and remind that his mug won't be on our money and there will be no take home plane.

Indignant? You lost me when you made that leap. I asked a simple question: Would you be ok if Barack Obama used the presidency to dodge his taxes? There's nothing "legal" about what Trump is doing yet you make excuses for him as if you a spokespersons.

This is what gets me about Trumper's they can dish out but can't take incoming.

Trump would argue his tax losses, like his bankruptcies, are reflections of his genius. And he's got a point. If I were in his shoes I would have tried harder to repay my creditors. But I don't begrudge him legally avoiding taxes imposed by our wasteful federal government. That said, someone just looking at his returns would come away with a very unrealistic picture of the billionaire class and tax fairness. Most billionaires pay far more than their fair share. Trump, maybe not, at the federal level at least.
    Deadbeat Repub much?

Here, let me help you with that and thereby demonstrate along the way why I wouldn't have wanted to provide a link if I were arguing your and Canada's side either.

5 takeaways from NY Times report on Trump's tax returns.
    Sept. 28, 2020

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/5-takeawa...BaEvSqCX5GQcgc

WASHINGTON AP A New York Times report that President Donald Trump paid just $750 in federal income tax the year he entered the White House - and, thanks to colossal losses, no income tax at all in 11 of the 18 years that the Times reviewed - served to raise doubts about Trump's self-image as a shrewd and successful businessman.
    ..........
TRUMP HAS FINANCED AN EXTRAVAGANT LIFESTYLE WITH THE USE OF BUSINESS EXPENSES.
    ..........
MANY OF HIS BEST-KNOWN BUSINESSES ARE MONEY-LOSERS
    ..........
FOREIGN VISITORS HAVE HELPED SUPPORT TRUMP'S PROPERTIES
    ..........
TRUMP WILL FACE FINANCIAL PRESSURE AS DEBTS COME DUE

Trump seems sure to face heavy financial pressures from the enormous pile of debt he has absorbed. The Times said the president appears to be responsible for $421 million in loans, most of which will come due within four years. On top of that, a $100 million mortgage on Trump Tower in New York will come due in 2022.
Gee, if I were the "successful, smart businesman" and blatantly obvious con man Trump is and owed one hell of a lot more than I ever earned, what would be the next slick move I might make to con 70 - 77 million dumb Repub hillbillies into putting me in a position to make someone else pay back all of my business loss debts? You know, like the American working men and women tax-payers.

    Lolol.

Yeah, you and Canada would be much better off staying miles away from any links to support your usual utterly made up horseshit excuses for your historic deadbeat know nothing, do nothing Repub heros.

Good post. Maybe a little harsh but Tooms needs some tough love.

Yes Clinton, aided by a Republican Congress, did a great job in his second term. But Democrats are becoming more and more progressive (that is, borderline loony). The Biden of 30 years ago wasn't the man in the White House. Progressives, more than a few installed by Elizabeth Warren, called the shots. He wasn't capable, especially in his last two years, given his dementia.

It's too bad Republican primary voters in 2020 didn't learn from watching Biden when they picked Trump. America's supposed to be a Democracy, not a Gerontocracy.

Qatar give money to terrorists, so they can offer a boeing to Trump, quite same for my ethic. In my country, in my town, I don t support Paris soccer team owned by Qatar. I would have been happy if they left Paris after their slavery 2022 soccer worldcup, when big mistake to organize 2026 worldcup in USA of Trump, shameful for Iran team and Sudanian refereee, but this is USA of Trump and shameful Infantino suck him, when USA are nothing for soccer. Mexico is a real country for soccer, when probably best ever worldcup was in Mexico in 1970, when I was unfortunately too young.

Elvis, Tiny and 77 million other Americans also voted for this:

As not voting for Clinton in 2016 was clearly a vote "for" the utterly predictable Great Repub / Trump Economic Disaster that followed as night follows day, not voting for Harris in 2024 was definitely a vote "for" whatever opportunistic Pandemic Trump can once again usher in by any means available to him. Only time will tell if or when this one will mutate into a much more virulent air-borne infection soread to humans. But there is no doubt Trump and his MAGAs will not be satisfied until it does.

FDA Approves Emergency Screwworm TreatmentAs Cases Rise To 7 In Texas, New Mexico.
    June 11, 2026

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroe...?streamIndex=0

The return of screwworm comes after the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency, launched by the Trump administration, last year cut funding for a project dedicated to monitoring and containing New World screwworm in Central America.

The funding was axed days before the U.S. ended a temporary suspension of cattle imports from Mexico, meaning livestock was allowed to cross the border without any of the monitoring previously funded by the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID).

Agriculture officials and cattle industry leaders raised alarm about the cuts at the time and, for the last several months, pleaded with the government to step in as they monitored screwworm infections moving north through Mexicobut they were ignored, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller told NBC News.
As even the most devoted Repub MAGA can clearly see, Trump's methods and game plan to make some kind of deadly, economy-destroying Pandemic happen wherever and whenever possible contrary to all expert warnings for him not to do something so dangerous and stupid has not changed one iota since he did the exact same thing to usher in and exacerbate Trump"s (first) Pandemic in his first term.

It simply turns out people like Elvis, Tiny, Canada if he had his wish, and 77 million other Americans who could have but did not vote for Clinton, Biden and Harris are four square in favor of Great Economic Disasters, historic jobs destruction, thousands of school and business closures, global hyper-inflation on the heels of global supply-chain collapse and mass murdering at least a million Americans and millions more people around the world and now they have revealed a special love for higher beef prices, higher gas prices, higher grocery prices and rates of inflation all around while purchasing power for most Americans declines and for blood-thirsty Repub quagmire, counterproductive, forever Wars of Choice based on Repub lies.

And it isn't as though there hasn't been a 100 year consistent pattern of the these kind of catastrophes and disasters being the outcome whenever a Dem is not in the White House. The unavoidable awareness of it has been right there in front of them all their lives and more available to them for research over the past few decades than ever before.

Tooms says blue states and Dems are wonderful for the economy while their states keep losing corporation after corporation.

The latest debacle is the Chicago Bears moving to Indiana. It is like there is a story every week of some big company moving from a blue state to a red one.

I just kind of wonder what is up with these dumb Dems. They just buy every delusional word the traditional media puts out there, and no one except them is reading it. I read some of the pro-Republican crap the WSJ puts out it its editorial columns and I want to puke. They just did this fawning story on Trump's health and the most popular comment was, "Oh brother I cannot believe my eyes. What am I reading here? You decide to write this and publish it the day after your golden calf was seen having a nice snooze at an NBA finals game? You take at face value the results of the exam conducted by his own doctor? The doctor who lists Donald Trump as 6'3" and 210 LBS?

You people have lost your gosh darn minds and I need to cancel my subscription to this paper. North Korean media would blush at the flattering portrayal of Donald Trump. They'd think it's a bit over the top."

And I agreed with every word the guy wrote and chuckled at it. The WSJ EB should get knee pads if they keep going down on Trump this badly. They are starting to rival what Kamala did with Willie Brown.
Yes, the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board does tend to make excuses for Trump when it can do so without appearing ridiculous, and where it would not compromise the EB's strong convictions. You mentioned an exception, taking the administration's word for it, that Trump's in good health. That doesn't compromise their principles but it is ridiculous. They will pillory the President on occasion, and disagree with him more frequently.

Still their opinion page is head and shoulders above the drivel that comes out in the NYT and Financial Times which I also subscribe too. And for straight news, the WSJ and Reuters are the only major unbiased sources out there.

While I may have said otherwise, the analogy between a couple of our esteemed board members and members of cults isn't true. They're more like fundamentalist Christians who believe every word in the Bible is true. Only instead of the Bible they're reading the Guardian, the NYT, et cetera.

I am not referring to Canada who said he thinks Trump is wrong about 25% of the time. Like you and me I suspect he takes Trump's side from time to time when he doesn't feel passionately about an issue, because otherwise the thread would be ridiculously one sided.
