Posts: 62Oishi has good, healthy food, but I'd like to recommend the 250 g Nebraska Tenderloin at Patrick's in the Kiss Arcade, 1250 baht.

Posts: 2926Sure, a few hundred baht may not be a big deal for most of us. However, I think becoming numb to an extra few hundred baht here and there is a mistake. In fact, it can be downright dangerous. The Aussie who murdered young Thai sex worker, Cake, and stuffed her into his oversized suitcase did it because she refused to service him for 500 baht instead of the 1,000 baht that he had promised her on Beach Rd. Clearly, 500 baht was a big deal for Cake and her murderer. It was a meager $15.07 USD, not enough to park your car for a day on a Manhattan parking lot. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cd0my5zy821o

He almost met the Reaper over a grand total of $6.03 USD, an amount that would not buy him a McDonald's Big Mac Meal in the USA. https://www.pattayamail.com/news/fin...pattaya-556153
So, keep in mind what a few hundred baht means to a Thai.

Posts: 7745Places to eat better than Pier 21
If you find yourself in Central Mall. Food Court 5th Floor closest to the movie theater: Oishi Ramen Highly recommended if you like that sort of food. Extensive menu. Combo specials, attentive staff. I liked the food. But I like Ramen.

Because for same price I can have 2 or 3 girls for 2 or 3 hours which will then make me real happy.

Posts: 7745The Cmdrs view on sharing information
What is not important is the prices themselves. What is important is sharing them in order to build a base of knowledge that can be referred to later. There are individuals who claim to get long time for 1200 THB. I've never paid less than 1500. That only happens because I'm doing a short time and the girl decides she would like to sleep over instead of hit the streets again.
I happen to think my man has a point. 300 THB is 7. 90 Euro; 500 is 13.17 Euro. The difference is 200 so 5. 27 Euro. The take way from Pokler's post for me is that maybe if you have flown half way around the world on your vacation then maybe you shouldn't be concerned with spending 5. 27 Euros more to get what it is you want. Of course 200 THB will get you a 1 hour foot massage. If you budget is tight then you need to pay attention to such things.

So it pays for those of use who are actively International Trickin to share our experiences with different venues. Some venues allow the girls who work in there to charge different amounts for their social / sexual services or not provide them at all. It is ALWAYS the choice of the provider you are dealing with. Other venues have set price menus that all the girls follow. Then you can pay them more to go above and beyond basic services. That is where you get additional charges for swallowing, BBFS, BBFSCIP, analingus, BDSM, Bondage and any other activities that a International Trick might want to engage in.
I was just at the Monkey House and they charge 300 THB for curtain and 400 THB for a room. And the girl I was talking to preferred the room because of the bed and shower. But where she provides the social / sexual activities she engages in was up to me.

Posts: 2926Plus, if one is happy paying New York prices, why bother flying to Thailand for services?

Posts: 18757Because it is Thailand, not New York. You think Filipinos go to Thailand and think about what stuff costs in New York? What stuff costs in New York has absolutely nothing to do with what stuff costs in Thailand.

Posts: 185On my last trip I stayed at Best Beach Villa. It's well within stumbling distance of beach road, soi 6, and the market. No problems with guests. Could hardly hear the noise from soi 6, even from a south-facing room (it's on soi 5). I didn't use their gym or pool, but breakfast was decent if you want an egg and meat.

Posts: 7745The Cmdr does not have alligator arms. Just reporting the facts
My brother please do not confuse my reporting of amounts quoted and actually paid with caring about the numbers. I don't. If someone cannot afford the difference between 300 - 500 baht, I have no dog in that fight. I am just reporting what I know about the current market. Things can always change. But usually prices go up, not down.

On the other hand, individual tastes vary. So, if some think Pier 21 is the best I have no problem with that. They have the eat the food there not I. If they like it then I am happy for them. I think the: The Airplane Food court next to Soi 6 is better than Pier 21.We all have different financial limitations. NYC prices are irrelevant in Thailand. An India man made a social media post complaining about the requirement to have 20,000 baht on-hand when entering Thailand, he claims that many India people enjoy their entire 2-week Thai vacation without spending 20,000 baht. To many people, 300 versus 500 baht makes a big difference.
Are the prices for things dirt cheap in Pattaya, Thailand after you factor in: 1. Cost of the airline ticket 2. Cost of the hotel room 3. Cost of food.

Posts: 430Yes, I was shocked myself as standard rates are between 700-800 but gave in as I found the lady good enough. Have been regular in Wood Bar in Bangkok so aware of the rates. Have only ventured in Soi Bongkot BJ Bars / GCs till now. Will explore other areas as well. Thanks.

I scratch my head as to why anyone would care whether a service or a room is 300 TBH vs 500 TBH or 800 vs 1000 TBH. Hell it all so dirt cheap. In NYC for BJ it's the equivalent of 7000 BHT. And a room another 7000.

Posts: 7745The Cmdr adds some perspective on eating options other than Pier 21 in Terminal 21
During my entire time posted up in Pattaya, Thailand, I have never had a local Thai person suggest Pier 21 as a regular dining option beyond my second month visiting Pattaya!
"While Terminal 21 in Pattaya hosts a highly rated food court with affordable options (typically 3060 THB per dish), several other locations offer superior variety, quality, or value depending on your preferences.
Alternative Mall Food Courts If you prefer the air-conditioned, predictable environment of a mall food court but want different styles or prices, consider:
Central Festival Pattaya: The basement-level food court offers a similar format to Terminal 21 but with slightly higher prices (60120 THB per dish) and a wider selection of standalone restaurants like Fuji and MK Suki.
Avenue Mall: Located near Pattaya Central, this food court is noted for being extremely cheap, with filling dishes available for around 50 THB, and it maintains clean facilities.
Higher Quality or Unique Dining Experiences For meals that exceed the standard food court fare in quality or ambiance:
Edge at Hilton Pattaya: Offers a full dinner menu with ocean views and a slightly less formal setting than the adjacent Horizon Bar, providing better quality than typical mall eateries.
Jomtien Beach Road: Features several night markets and local Thai restaurants that provide fresh seafood and traditional dishes at lower costs than central Pattaya malls.
Soi Buakhao: This area has the highest concentration of mid-range restaurants in Pattaya, offering better value and quality for those willing to dine outside of mall complexes.
Terminal 21 Internal Restaurants: Within Terminal 21 itself, restaurants like Arno's (steakhouse) and Hachicken Ramen (Japanese chain, starting at 99 THB) offer higher quality options than the food court stalls."
I've personally eaten a most of the locations above and they are FAR superior to Pier 21 in my opinion.

Posts: 7745The Cmdr presents: Options other then Pier 21 Food Court
The Airplane market next to Soi 6 is a better food option if you are looking for an authentic street food environment.
Many venders show up in from of Central Marina in the late afternoon / evening.
Zaab High is a restaurant that specializes in ISAN cuisine.
The Cmdr shares a story.
I am not getting down on anyone. I am speaking from personal experience. When I was wheels down in Pattaya and everyone was calling me a tourist. I was. I was in Terminal 21 so much a solid month it was like a lived there. It was close to where I stated and my girl would take me to eat there (Pier 21) because it was easy. But then later on in our relationship she started cooking for me. Then she started to show me other Thai Food restaurants, Street Venders and night markets. That is when I learned what real Thai Food tasted like. The occasion came where we found ourselves in Terminal 21 and we went to Pier 21 again. I ordered the same favorite dishes I had always order. Ed But this time it had absolutely no taste. It did not taste like the dishes that I ordered or she would be prepared for me.
So, if Pier 21 is your only option because you are hungry, just realize your are eating the farang version of Thai Food. Not real Thai Food. The advantages are that is, right there in Terminal 21, sanitary and cheap. But tasty? Not so much for the more refined pallet of The Cmdr.
