My Line account is based in a country where phone numbers and user IDs are no longer accepted for much of anything, that is new since about August 2024. When I set up Line a decade ago, I registered with only my phone number and one of my secondary personal email addresses. A few days ago I had Line problems and I decided to back up my Line (using the Line back up system), delete Line, reinstall Line, and use my Line backup to link to my account. That didn't work because my registration phone and my registration email address were no longer accepted forms of account verification. To recover my Line account, I had to completely wipe my smartphone and restore my smartphone from my normal backups, which was a 2-hour job.

I have two recommendations for Line users who have Line accounts that no longer accept phone numbers and user IDs to add new contacts:

(1) Back up your Line account using the Line back up system (From primary device: Home. Settings - Chat History Backup).

(2) Link your Line account to either an Apple or Google account (From primary device: Home. Settings - Account).

This process should allow you to recover your Line chat history and contact list in the event you need to reinstall Line on your device. Probably also works for replacing your existing device.

Actually, Chinese sponsors are different because many of them export Thai ladies to China on a long term basis, either as wives or mistresses.

Thank you for your report but when you report please provide accurate information. Obviously which is better El Gaucho vs El Toro is a personal preference. In my opinion both are overpriced with Super Tuesday at El Gaucho being a good value. El Toro is a piss poor excuse of a Brazilian Churrascaria. If you've ever been to one in Brazil I think you would agree.

Broccoli is 290 baht It's too expensive but it's not 900 baht. Baked potato is the best priced side at 250 baht and the sauteed mushrooms are good.

The carmelized vodka shots are free and never added to the bill. As a regular Super Tuesday visitor they generall leave the bottle to enjoy as many as we want.

Do you work for them or something? Tender Stem Broccoli ("advertised from Europe") was a so-called special this week at 890. Yes you can probably get frozen shite for 290 if who wants that. So 3 or 4 sides an you have added another 1,000 to the main course price before you know it. No sauteed onions on the menu, only steak house in the world probably without onions!

In El Toro you have unlimited sides / salads if you choose the buffet option.

Also maybe read into your bills better, Nothing is free, I observe they hard sell the shots at the end to tourists at EL Gaucho, for one and one reason only.

Also I am in Bangkok not Brazil so yes giving a review of two steak houses in Bangkok that members might like to visit. I am not comparing them to the standards of others in other Countries. I visit steak houses all over the world and the steak in my own Country is regarded as some of the best in the world. I am sitting here looking out my window at home at cattle grazing as I type.

What I said and I stand over it is El Toro's steak is superior to El Gaucho and you'll get a better customer experience, friendly, welcoming, warmer and more attentive.

It depends on whether the sponsor wants the bargirl to stop working bar. In that case, he's got to make up the equivalent of 4 contracts a month, easily 30,000 baht. Some guys just send small amounts, though.

I am no expert but I've a few friends in BKK that will go with guys for a month for 20,000. That's for pocket money, they expect accommodation, food etc to be paid for as well.

That's of course the start of it, if they get their claws into a guy they'll hit him for all sorts of presents (clothes, trainers, bags, phones, makeup, you name it).

I don't get the concept from either perspective really to be honest.

One friend in particular has never lasted a month, I think the longest she has put up with it is 3 weeks before she ran LOL.

I only go to El Gaucho Asoke for the lunch menu and get the tenderloin with the side salad. I will also order their ribs for takeout and have that for dinner. If I want a steak in the evening, I walk 50 m up Sukhimvit to Coal's Steakhouse, where the dinner menu is reasonably priced and very good quality tenderloin. Enjoy, AR.

Is it just me or does anyone think the El Gaucho chain of steakhouses is way overpriced and not actually that good!

They always seem packed however and some are now open 24 hours and for breakfast too (Soi 20 BKK).

I thought it was overpriced the first time I went on my first ever first to BKK but I had converted money in my head wrong, so only realized the real price when I got home.

They do a special promotion the first Tuesday of the month when all steaks are half price, so stupid old me books yesterday, goes on down and then of course cop's on that yesterday was 30th June not the first Tuesday in July, duh!!

Anyway I stayed, only had a main course and 1 beer. T-bone steak, no crust, average size, average taste. All sides are extra and not even a great selection. They wanted 900 baht for broccoli for example.

Anyway they all automatically add a 10% tip, so it eas 4,500 baht just for that. They also try and fleece you at the end with vodka shots. They give you the impression it's on the house, but they actually charge you which I realized on my first visit after necking 3 of them. I also passed on desert this time.

Personally I think EL Toro is a much better option, for under 3,000 baht you can have an all you can eat buffet of different steak pieces and unlimited salad bar. Must better quality and taste in my opinion.

BTW its 1 k bar fine, 3 k short time.

Even at 3000 for short time it would make me feel like I am cheating on my six regulars here in Pattaya who do Short Time 1500 and Long Time for 3000.

Sponsorship means sending money to a bargirl after you go home.

The standard scenario is when a guy comes to Thailand for a short visit, falls in love with a bargirl, and then supports her after he goes home.

I would guess that the average sponsorship lasts about 3 months.
