In these operations, arrested individuals were typically fined 1,000 baht, had their visas revoked, and were detained pending deportation. Authorities cite complaints from tourists and locals regarding public nuisance and the negative impact on Pattaya's family-friendly tourism image as the primary justification for these crackdowns.

They must weed through pages of dribble on prostitution legal arguments between people without any legal background in Thailand.

Section 5. Any person who, for the purpose of prostitution, solicits, induces, introduces herself or himself to, follows or importunes a person in a street, public place or any other place, which is committed openly and shamelessly or causes nuisance to the public, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand Baht.

Example foreign man walks up to a lady on beach road or walking street or soi Bukao and asks how much for sex ST. The Thai girl replies with 1000ST. They agree. Even if no one is considered a nuisance, it's considered shameless in Thai culture. The fact this happened and someone may have witnessed it makes it shameless. They both consented. Boom! Everything that paricular poster assured us over and over again about prostitution being "illegal" in Thailand was roundly and soundly refuted with the facts presented by several of us other posters at the time. Here are the facts again.

The ACT he and you referenced here only reiterates the same addendum and qualifiers clearly stated in the Thai Penal Code and repeated by some of us here regarding crimes related to sexuality with not one word, repeat, not one word indicating that exchanging money for sex or sex for money between or among consenting adults over the age of 18 is illegal, a crime or carries any fine of so much as a single baht or incarceration for so much as a single minute.

That ACT is available in pdf form online. But below is the A. I. Overview for it, including any possible unsupported "opinions" published trying but failing to refute what the ACT and the Thai Penal Code clearly state about the topic as though it or they "officially" declare prostitution to be illegal in Thailand as a private exchange between or among consenting adults, which it most certainly does not.

BTW, notice the words PREVENTION and SUPPRESSION in the title of that ACT? I assume they would kinda' sorta' like to "prevent" and "suppress" it for the sake of Face or are hoping people around the world will see they are at least doing something to "prevent" or "suppress" it in the culture. But they didn't use the words "make illegal" or "criminalize" for the obvious reasons; because it does not criminalize prostitution or make it illegal "officially" or "unofficially" in Thailand.

And if anyone wants to read every word of the Thai Penal Code position regarding sexuality, it isn't even that much to read. Maybe it would take you 10 minutes to read the whole thing. And no where in that or in the ACT referenced above will you see the blissfully easy words, terms and sentence that could be placed in them but are nowhere to be found. You know, something like, "Any and all exchanges of money for sex or sex for money, otherwise known as Prostitution, is illegal in Thailand for anyone of any age under any circumstances consentual or not and is punishable by a fine of not less than a Trillion baht and a mandatory prison sentence of 100 years without the possibility of parole. This is not a problem for me. I get into non-traditional relationships with Prostitutes all the time.
