Posts: 147Thanks for your help Mogwai HorseTrader, Banana Boi, 11 Bravo. I think mostly the hotel's safe locker is not touched by the staff. Also please let me know how is the scene there now. I had visited in Summer of 2022 and it was a low season that time too, due to the outbreak of virus. I enjoyed the low prices that time, 1000 baht for ST girls in soi 6, with 300 for room upstairs and a ladydrink and 1 normal beer for me. I would count it a total of 1500 for a ST girl that time. But now I read that there are minimum Lady drinks now and high prices. This leaves me vulnerable to go to the beach road standing hookers for 1000 baht.
In 2021 I had seen a line-up of girls in a small shop at a corner of LK Metro or near LK Metro, they were not asking any drinks, as there were no tables, no drinks, no rooms at all, but around 30 girls sitting in a huge you shape that were asking 1500 to 2000 for ST all available for takeaway. The girls line-up was too good to miss. They had all types of girls. The Sleek ones, fat ones, fair ones, big boob girls. I mean I had found a jackpot that time, but sadly it was almost my last day there, so I did not explore it much. I had to just pass on that shop as I was finished for the day. Does that type of shop exist now in some part of LK Metro or Pattaya?
I had tried 4 to 5 of the beach girls. Some were good while some girls were time watchers and starfishes combined. All in all, not a good experience from Beach road hookers as most of them were too pro in it and a bit rude.
Where can I find low budget good options of low age (new girls to this sex scene) now? I tried ThaiFriendly in 2021 but I got 3 Ladyboys at 3 different days at that time. 1 was clearly identified as ladyboy and rejected, but the other 2 were successful in deceiving me. I thought they are girls. After sex, one was laughing a little on my doubt of ladyboy or not. While the other was not ready to turn on the lights, and would not let me touch the pussy area. I got him out of the room, although his / her boobs were real and had a good heavy bounce to them (never seen such natural bounce in normal girls). The boob felt too heavy and natural, was too good. I do not know though if he was a he or she. (was dropped by her father till the hotel entrance). Then I stopped using Thaifriendly.

Posts: 2659I have been coming to Thailand for more than 20 years now, and I never had anything stolen from the safe in my hotel room. Of course I'm staying in respectable hotels, not in dumps.

Posts: 2659These cards are only available to US citizens, as far as I know.

Posts: 2201The Fidelity card does the same as the Schwab card. I've been using mine for about 10 years in Thailand, it has never failed me.

The only room safe problem I've ever had was when the safe battery failed while locked. It was a real pain in the neck getting the authorized hotel technician to open the safe. Even after the safe was opened, he insisted that I prove the contents belonged to me (passport picture/signature, and unlock my computer using fingerprint).

Posts: 6803Like many countries, technically you're supposed to carry your passport on your body at all times. Whether you do or don't is up to you. We've all travelled the world enough to know the right choice for us.

Posts: 18757Means nothing. 99% of safes of that caliber can be opened with a magnet, or hitting it hard on top. Never had anything stolen out of a hotel safe anywhere though.

Well, I used to carry cash and travelers checks. But since the proliferation of internationally connected ATM's, I use an ATM card to get cash. You can find some that allow you to avoid foreign currency transaction fees, non-member bank ATM fees, ATM fees in general, etc. I use a Schwab card. I understand that Wise has similar functionality.

As to safes:
1. Room safes: there's a master key. Should be accessible by TOP management only, but that's a BIG should.
2. Front Desk safes: perhaps a bit safer: you put your cash in an envelope, sign and seal with tape, and it goes in the safe. Should be more secure as it's easy to see if it's been tampered with (most likely). But then it's a hassle to get money as you have to request the envelope, open it, take what you need, then repeat the signing, sealing with a new envelope. (Been a long time, do they even have these now?)
Money belt: well, you might try stapling it to your body, but all too easy to lose sight of, as say, in an AMP while you're busy. More useful against pickpockets.
My MEAGER suggestion is to look into plastic, usable at ATM's. Thai ATM's do charge a fee for each "non-account" use, but Schwab reimburses that.
Best I can do.

Posts: 147Are hotel safe lockers actually safe?
I am planning to carry lots of cash. I think many visitors bring in US dollars so it is easy to convert to Thai baht and then use in pattaya. Where do you guys keep all this cash? Is the hotel safe locker actually safe? Do usually they get stolen or opened by the hotel staff? OR should I use a money belt to carry the dollars always on body?
Experts please reply.

Posts: 5456Yes, it's Low Season. Which means that Pattaya is quiet. Which means that bargirls are mostly broke and hungry for customers.

There are quite a lot of visitors in Pattaya now, and the traffic is heavy, but most of those visitors are Bangkok, or from India. Either case, not much business for the ladies.

Posts: 63Just came back from a week in Pattaya. The last time I went to Pattaya was 15 years ago over New Year's Eve. I couldn't believe how empty the town felt. The only places that I saw in town that had a lot of tourists were Central Pattaya mall and Terminal 21 mall. Everything else was pretty quiet. I was talking to some guy that lived in Pattaya and he was telling me that in high season the place is packed.

I think if you can can go during low season, it is a great option because it is definitely a buyer's market. It was still hot during the day but it didn't even rain that much. In the week I was there, I think I only got caught out in the rain twice and it was for less than 15 minutes each time.

Posts: 63I like Bell Services also because their airport bus is in a 1x2 layout so it is more roomy that a regular bus. You can book your tickets online but they cut off the online ticketing 6 hours before departure.
