You probably would not want to have your family in a centro hotel, so you probably should decide on the hotel first, probably Poblado or possibly Laureles areas. Then work from there. Most of the casas in the centro area are not close to nice hotels, or family style hotels, at least none that I know of. Overall, not being moralistic or anything like that, but it doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Why not just enjoy the time with family, not sure if you have children with you, but anyway. Whatever you do be careful.
