Crap service being doled out secretly behind closed doors and unreported by us that she is never made aware of takes money out of her pocket and the pockets of the girls in her venue who do deliver good service and want customers to spread the good news and return for more rather than lose money and go out of business.

Great buffet there and reasonably priced using eatigo.

With the 50% eatigo discount, that Sukhumvit Soi 2 J. W. Marriott buffet is a very good deal, IMO. With that discount the final total per person is about 1,350 baht. I can justify that cost with just the amount I eat of their peeled shrimp a la old-school Las Vegas resort hotel buffets, a rare offering in Bangkok, with the American style seafood cocktail sauce, the various cheese, olives and deli meats offerings even before I get to the steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, veggies and desserts.

I don't think anyone involved in reserving the rooms thought about that. This hotel was based on 1) it's a JW Marriott so should be a nice hotel, and 2) it's close to our office (1 km). Of course I looked it up and realized it's close to Nana, but that's all good with me!

I've never stayed at the JW Marriott myself (too expensive, and too noisy area for me), but according to some board members who stayed there, the girls do not have to "check in", as you call it. They are only visiting, so they don't have to check in anyway, but in most hotels the front desk will take their ID. But the JW Marriott doesn't seem to care who you invite to your room, and does not take ID's.
However, you will still have to accompany them, because the elevators require a key card.

I can't answer directly because I've never stayed at that hotel. Most places you must come to reception to greet your guest and give reception her ID.

But since you have associates with you, it would seem safer to go to a short time hotel, which probably costs less than 600 baht.
