SoftTel and Citin Sukhumvit 11.

SoftTel is excellent hotel with full amenities and location. Expensive (at least for me because I am poor. No flow nor stack).

Citin Sukhumvit 11 is at my point. An even better location in my book. Serviceable room. I get award winning service because I tip well and often. No complaints.

Food

The Game American Sports Bar and Restaurant: Excellent but crowed as fuck during normal dinner hours.

Krua Khu Puk: Thai Food. Good Portions, good prices, excellent value.

Right in front of Krua Khu Puk is a stewed noodle cart. Great for a late night snack in my room.

Kinnery in the Grand Business Inn: A combination American Diner style with Thai Food offerings. Was excellent and reasonably priced. Open 24 hours. That is a plus for me.

Old German Beerhouse on Sukhumvit 11: Had the farmers breakfast and excellent coffee. Another meal that did not disappoint.

BKK Diner. American and Thai Comfort food: I went there for breakfast. Was a excellent value. I had a Thai / American breakfast mix that hit the spot.

Viva Sports Bar and Restaurant: Had pancake breakfast there. There is nothing wrong with the food. But they have changed their menu and I was not happy with it nor the pricing. So I will not be returning to eat. But you cannot beat their prices on draft beer 119 THB for a pint of Chang. Prices go up from there. I like the fact that I can have breakfast at 0800. Be finished by 0900 and hit Lolitas right around the corner.

Those who have a problem with Lolitas only need to take a few steps to explore other options with more lovely Thai prostitutes that you can pay to suck and fuck you. At least half a dozen right in the general area.

Transportation

Was provided by the transport service I use all the time. We left from Central Pattaya and was taken to the doorstep of our hotels. My crew and I were transported in a large luxury van. Cost 2500 THB one way.

I wouldn't worry too much about going during June - August. It's not much worse than that at some point during the day you can expect there to be a heavy rain shower, hopefully during the night, but in the worst case lasting a couple of hours during the day, and at that time I'll simply stay inside. If caught outside in the rain, I'll jump into a massage shop / coffee shop / restaurant / etc. for an hour or two until the rain stops.

Baht Bus is 10 THB and I can get almost anyplace I need under 200 THB using Bolt. Food delivery, package delivery and household services are all available at reasonable prices. Let me also add that you can get a room within 10 minutes walk of the beach for under 10,000 THB / month or with a view from 12,000 - 15,000 THB / month. Do that in Cockbang? Oh no, you can't? Why? No beach!

Lower Sukhumvit? Haven't mongered there in well over a decade, 15 years is more like it. The only reason I go did that area is to eat Middle Eastern food which is fantastic. Oilies or online have been the way to go for ages.

Do you pay more for things in Bangkok? Well, that depends on where you live. If you live in a tourist area of course you do. But I question the sanity if any long-term resident who chooses to live in a tourist area. I live 15 minute BTS ride from Asoke. Neighborhood is fantastic, it's not a tourist area, great local food at normal prices, excellent supermarkets, an easy access to highways.

And when you're talking about the gals, there is absolutely no contest. Again, if you're hunting so for you're going to see the same dark Isaan gals that you see in Pattaya, and yes they will be more expensive. But, start exploring the oilies and you'll see prettier, thinner, lighter skinned gals and behave in a bit more refined manner.

Learn to speak the language and things will really open up for you.

Bangkok is truly one of the world's great cities. An unbelievable food scene, fantastic coffee shops, bakeries, craft beer bars, etc. aside from just so so Mexican food, Bangkok offers incredible examples of cuisine from the world over. And in many cases at a price less than you would pay at origin. My one complaint would be that wine in good craft beer are definitely over taxed and overpriced. We have also developed an incredibly excellent coffee scene here. One other thing that was lacking when I arrived a couple of decades ago was good bakeries, and that has been remedied. It's world class and it has the benefit of available girls for a reasonable price.

The value for money in Bangkok as opposed to other world-class cities is still quite incredible. Is it as affordable as it was 25 years ago when I moved here? Well of course not, but nowhere else is.

Was in Bangkok last week for 4 days and 3 nights.

1. Getting your dick sucked costs 800 - 1000 THB. It is 500 THB in Pattaya.

2. The lowest price quote I could get on Short Time was 1500 THB (Thai Friendly). I get Short Time routinely at 1000 THB plus taxi (I offer it) on (Thai Friendly). Hottest girls wanted quote 3000 THB initially for Short Time.

3. The girls were NOT more attractive. Of course this is my opinion.

4. The food is way better in Bangkok than it is in Pattaya. But it is also WAY more expensive. Fine Dining is 2000 - 3000 THB / per person; Regular Farang meals are 1000 THB / per person on average.

5. Foot massage starts at 350 THB / hour in Bangkok. Prices go up. Foot massages in Pattaya can start as low as 100 THB / hour. I got a 90 minute head, shoulder, foot massage for 300 THB TODAY on second road in Pattaya.

I've lived in Bangkok for well over two decades. I used to love going to party on for 2 or 3 days a month, but this was in the early to mid 00's during the low season especially. Made visits here and there during the 10's, and didn't go at all during covid. Had some old friends in country and we hadn't been together in well over a decade so we decided to meet in Pattaya in mid January. I lasted 23 and a half hours. Talent level was poor. And Lordy, Beach Rd in the evening was appalling. The one bright spot is good Western food at good prices. Otherwise, no. Way prefer Bangkok, where I'm not exposed to a constant parade of old alcoholic punters walking the streets in their cargo shorts and wife beaters. Pattaya used to be charmingly sleaze, now just yuck!

During my last trip to Bangkok I stayed in three different hotels:

Holiday Inn Sukhumvit by IHG

Highest quality of the three. Also the most expensive. Where I would take ATF if we went to vacation in Bangkok. Has a great location and every thing you want. Gym, pool, great restaurant for breakfast. Room laid out for a baller / shot caller!

Sukhumvit suites

Midlevel quality. Great location. Right next to train station: BTS? Great restaurant down stairs. Great value for the price. I have zero complaints.

Citin Sukhumvit 11

Lowest quality. All the basics you need to sleep, shit, shower. Lowest cost per night of the three. But, it is in the middle of the debauchery and if your are a early or light sleeper you are going to find the party noises disturbing. For me they were like a lullaby.

When I return, I will go to the Citin. I much prefer low places and this place sits right in the middle of the debauchery. Walk out the front door and there is debauchery on your right and debauchery on your left. It's my kind of place.

I agree Newt everyone should try to see more of Thailand. We have a poster here that brags about how long he has lived in Pattaya. The fool has only been there for a year or two and has never been anyplace else. And he says he lives in Thailand".

4. The food is way better in Bangkok than it is in Pattaya. But it is also WAY more expensive. Fine Dining is 2000 - 3000 THB / per person; Regular Farang meals are 1000 THB / per person on average.

5. Foot massage starts at 350 THB / hour in Bangkok. Prices go up. Foot massages in Pattaya can start as low as 100 THB / hour. I got a 90 minute head, shoulder, foot massage for 300 THB TODAY on second road in Pattaya.
