It's standard practice for American Airlines on Colombia. USA routes. They roll out privacy partitions and on I'm not sure what basis call a bunch of names for secondary inspection. It happened to me once. They went through my luggage and checked documents, no big deal.

Leaving Bogota on an international flight last year, AFTER passing through security, I was called at the gate (along with about 5 or 6 other individuals) for undisclosed reasons (maybe the flight attendant said "passport check" I don't remember). Might just have been some random check they were doing, since other people got selected at the same time. Maybe it was just revenge bs for what the US was doing to Colombian citizens. It was a bit scary and nerve-wracking, some of us were afraid we were going to miss the flight, since it was while the plane was boarding. Don't think it had anything to do with anything while going through security before that point. This happened to me twice last year, first while boarding a flight from Bogota to Rio de Janeiro, and then again a few months later boarding a flight back to the US.

If you still have your boarding pass you should see "SSSS" on it. It's Secondary Screening and in most cases it's random. It's pretty common not only in Colombia but also in other countries for US bound flights.

Remember that Colombia is the number one cocaine exporting country in the world. There is a TV show just about customs in Bogota airport and all the smugglers they catch.

I had this happen to me leaving Tijuana, MX airport. Everything you wrote happened to me too and same timing, etc. It was scary and a bit nerve-wracking. I thought I was going to miss the flight too as it was during boarding. Only time it has happened to me and not sure what triggers it, but like 5 others went through it too so it isn't isolated to just one person.

One doesn't even talk to an immigration officer when leaving now; you just go through the electronic turnstile. What kind of problem did you run into trying to leave that actually had you talk to a customs officer? The electronic machinery rejected you?

Iv'e been to Medellin dozens of times and have only had 1 minor issue with Immigration while leaving. An officer thought he was Colombo but nothing came of it.

95% of this thread is just chit chat so here's some boots on the ground reporting.

On WhatsApp, I propose BBFS and give my offer. I get rejected right off the bat maybe 50% of the time. For the remaining half, half of that ask for too much, so about a quarter will take BBFS in between the 350 to 400 range for an hour. I stick to 350 including transportation. If she asks for transportation and I really want to see her, I'll pay for their return trip. One girl was quite hot and I gave her 400. With the exchange rate as it is, anything beyond 400 is not worth it
I already sessioned twice with Tinder girls with two more scheduled for the upcoming days. It's way easier than FB's current limitations, but probably more risky since there's no established profile, so just make sure you guys protect yourself. Most importantly, do not drink with the girl, ever, even after you've met her once or twice. I might have avoided a scope queen when she asked if I've been to Meddy before and I said yes and she went silent.

I have received some messages about my last post. I usually post a full report but had some problems uploading and it might be redundant considering past posts that I have made.

1) Iv'e been to Medellin dozens of times and have only had 1 minor issue with Immigration while leaving. An officer thought he was Colombo but nothing came of it.

2) I did not feel targeted at the Airbnb. They have preregistration that is different than other Airbnb's. I think that has to do with the location; it's next to a police station.

2) I don't go to Lleras anymore. They have too many kids hanging out there and nothing was being done about it. Not worth it!

3) El Centro is safe place. You are not being hassled or get side-eye. I hang out there when I can. Daylight hours only.
