Posts: 1468When I travel the pan-Pacific route from the eastern USA, I usually arrive in BKK between 9:40 PM and 11:30 pm depending on the airline. Arriving at 11:30 pm means I am usually checked into my Sukhumvit neighborhood hotel, showered & shaved and ready to hit the street by 12:45 to 1 am. The Go Go's will be winding down by then, but there is still plenty of action on Sukhumvit between Soi 4 and Soi 11 and beyond up to a block or two past Thermae towards Asok). So, I recommend concentrating on those 2 sois (Soi 4 & Soi 11 and the distance between them). The SW's, the girly bars and the clubs that you will find on these 2 sois is amazing. Lots of late-night action! A ton of girls to choose from. And no matter how tired I am from the grueling 24-hour flight, the adrenalin kicks in and I am raring to have a good time. So, I think it's a great way to spend the 1st night back in Thailand.

Posts: 34Thanks for the good advice. I think I'll book a room in Bangkok near Asok for the night and hit up Soi Cowboy after I arrive. I checked my flight and I get to BKK at 11:15 pm With any luck I'll have enough time to get through immigration, take a car to the hotel, shower, and get to the Go-Gos before they close. Otherwise, there is always TF.

My main reason for continuing on to Pattaya right away was to avoid Bangkok city traffic during the day, however, I'll let the driver worry about that the next afternoon. Ha ha.

Posts: 2662The Dynasty Inn is on Soi 13, and there are at least three short time hotels on Soi 13/1. So that's very close. They are not really nice though, but also not dumps.

Nevertheless I agree with Axel Heyst that it's better to stay in Bangkok, and hit the streets or use Thai Friendly.

Arriving in BKK around midnight is NOT, I repeat is NOT, a bad thing. Just book a normal hotel room on Soi Sukhumvit and enjoy the rest of your night in Bangkok. The next day you can leisurely travel to Pattaya at your convenience.

Posts: 199Why not book an extra night at the Dynasty Inn so that your 3 am check-in is a late check-in, not an early check-in?

I'll be arriving in Pattaya at about 3 am On my next trip in November (after arriving at BKK at 12:15 am And taking a car). I'll be able to leave my bags at Dynasty Inn, but last time they would not give me an early check-in at that hour (normally a 2 pm Check-in). I am considering finding some action on Beach Road or TF at that hour and asking the woman where to go for a ST hotel. Any suggestions? I'll have a lot of time to kill at a late hour and will need to hangout somewhere. I have not stayed at a short-term hotel like this before, but understand they are plentiful and open at all hours.

Posts: 1468My Favorite Pattaya Beach Road Hotels and a few others
If cost is not a factor and Beach Road is the preferred location then I strongly recommend the Wave, the Avani (formerly the Marriott), or Holiday Inn (near soi 6) in the order given. I recently confirmed with management that the Avani has no guest fee, so it is technically girl friendly, but they indicated they don't want girl guests in the pool / garden area after 12 pm. This is the reason I rate the Wave #1. I strongly dislike the Hilton next door to the Wave. You can read my review in this thread if you want to know why.

I stayed there when it was the Tim and I had a good time. It has a pleasant rooftop pool. I never stayed at the Baraquda, but some BMs really like it, so it is worth consideration.
I can't quite recommend the Areca Lodge although it has a good location near LK Metro and is relatively inexpensive. But the pool areas are inadequate, the rooms are small, and they are fanatical about signing girls in.
So like I said, if money is not a concern and you want to stay on Beach Road, it's the Wave, the Avani Pattaya Resort, or the Holiday Inn.
Hey BB, you are the BM I was referring to in this quote, "I never stayed at the Baraquda, but some BMs (BB) really like it, so it is worth consideration". 555!

It has a great location, but for the money, their hotel pool should not be so fuckin' small and a total dick fest. The Holliday Inn has a much nicer pool and the Inn is roughly 40% cheaper. The Avani has a great pool garden area. The only Pattaya area Hotel with nicer grounds is the Intercontinental.

Posts: 6804On Beach Road between Soi 6 and Walking Street would be a choice between Wave, Hilton, and a suite at Hard Rock. On Second Road, would be Melia or Baraqada. My choice would be Melia or Wave cause they're newer.

Posts: 2883My bro wants to go to Pattaya. I told him to look here. He says he trusts me. I told him I don't go there and he should meet me in BKK. He insists I should help him.
He wants to stay a week, he wants to be near soi 6 and walking street, which I guess means near beach road.
Got hotel suggestions? One you have stayed at? Cost is not a factor.

Did any of you try the Siam at Siam design hotel in Pattaya? I noticed their guest house FAQ does mention them being guest friendly, but nothing about it for the boutique design hotel.
So do any of you know if it's allowed? Any small letters to know about?
