Don't introduce American silly behaviors that a tip is a duty. A tip is a great compliment and a way of saying thank you. When it becomes mandatory, it somehow loses its value as honest feedback for the service staff.

I visit regularly in May and November. The rain has never bothered me; you still get plenty of time by the pool. One thing that can be a bit of a hassle is ordering taxis. It gets difficult when it rains, and you have to wait for a car since the motorbike taxis aren't running. It costs more then, too, though still very cheap by Western standards. As for visiting the clubs, the month doesn't matter at all—except during Ramadan.

I really like V Four, this is one of the first few bars I started in Jakarta and also where I've taken most girls after Classic. The setup here is nice, they have two floors, upstairs from 4-8 pm, and downstairs with DJ dance floor after 8 pm. The girls are spread out in small groups, so it is much easier to look around and see who is there. At night, you will also see some freelancers besides bar girls, coming in to hang out and get picked up.

The other bars, New Sari Ayu, Mega Ayu, Royal, Laras Ayu, and MTR have everyone seated almost like rows of salmon, one right behind the other. It's hard to get a good look at the girls hiding and sitting farther back. I have taken a few girls from here when I was able to get a clear view.

I am an admitted Classic T2 lover. But want to try KI this round. Venues I have on the agenda based on the forum:

Once you get there, you will see they are all so close together that you can walk past all the venues in 3-4 minutes if you don't enter any of them. It's a small rectangular area.

In around 10 visits I can't say I've noticed any one bar having better quality than others myself. They all seem the same to me, so I wouldn't have an agenda myself. Some days the prettiest girl was in this bar, other days in that bar, so I just walk through them all until I find one I like, and then restart if I didn't find anyone.

Seating / viewing arrangements suck, but eventually I've gotten used to it, and it's become less of a problem than the first time, when I thought it really sucked compared to Classic.
