    Renewables? LOL. https://www.un.org/en/climatechange/...newable-energy

Renewable energy is energy derived from natural sources that are replenished at a higher rate than they are consumed. Sunlight and wind, for example, are such sources that are constantly being replenished. Renewable energy sources are plentiful and all around us.

And solar panels and batteries and windmills are part of the renewable scam? They do not need to be built or maintained? And they cost nothing?

I should not have. I had to learn. My AC uses 1000 watts per hour. My power station can take in 2600 watts of solar per hour, so that is no problem when the sun is shining. Of course, you have to buy $2000 of solar panels and have the space to set them up, but at least, the AC works.

If you want to run the AC at night, that is 12,000 watts of juice, and you have two choices, a $400 generator burning $5 of gasoline per night or $5000 in batteries. Your year of the battery bullshit completely misses that point with regards to cost.

And your dumb Earth 1 bullshit assumes all climates are the same. If you are in a desert like climate where there is a lot of sun and free space and temps plummet at night where you need little to possibly no night time AC, then the solar-battery combination might be a cost effective solution. But where it stays hot at night like where I am in Texas, the solar-battery combo makes no financial sense.

If I do not need the electricity and have time, slapping up a cheap solar panel to power up the batteries I bought might make sense too.

The problem with you though is you are literally making objective and mathematical issues political. What kind of horseshit phrasing is "renewable" energy?

The energy from ethanol and biodiesel comes from the sun too right? Are they "renewables"? What does the UN say about them?

"Fossil fuels. Coal, oil and gas. On the other hand, are non-renewable resources that take hundreds of millions of years to form. Fossil fuels, when burned to produce energy, cause harmful greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide. ".

And here we go with the lie of omission.

WTF does this mean? If I put a solar panel on my RV and I have filled up my batteries to the brim, does it count that I am still generating solar power? According to that Doomberg report, China is using only one in four of its solar panels.

The math on solar and wind only works when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing. It falls off a cliff when there is no sun or wind. How can this be the year of the battery when the cost of power from batteries is at least 10 X higher than the cost of fossil fuels?

The Dis United States of America could starve 100 million people worldwide

The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), QU Dongyu, emphasized today that the global fertilizer scarcity caused by disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz will lead to lower yields and tightening food supplies in the latter half of 2026 and into 2027.

If the Republicans are willing to do this, what makes anyone think they care about you as citizen of the Dis United States of America?

Thomas Massie (KY) on September 15,2026, who introduced eight articles accusing Hegseth of violating the War Powers Resolution, conducting extrajudicial killings, and illegally retaliating against critics.

Massie invoked House Rule IX to force a vote, though Speaker Mike Johnson adjourned Congress to delay it until after the midterms.

In my opinion, there is at least one (1) Republican trying to do the right thing.

Medias like CNN refused in White House by Trump. After Musk corruption, now 5000 USD corruption by Trump to try to save midterms, USA under him are not anymore a democracy, but a new dictator with ICE, like his friend he sucks, Putin who threaten to vote for him.

The highest Fed Funds rate in USA History was 20% in June 1981. The US Economy was in deep trouble. Carter was ineffective in dealing with the issue. Reagan solved it. Period.

And yes, Eih, Reagan and Volker's tight money cure was tough love and brought on the deep 1982 recession. It took a great leader to go ahead with this policy despite it's political risks, but strategy worked and wiped out the disease. The economy flourished after the recession, the stock market took off and never looked back, and inflation remained under control until the imbecile Joe Biden came into office with his "green new deal" BS.
Volcker was Carter's Fed Chair appointee. Volcker started his effective "tight money cure" in late 1979, almost a year and a half before Reagan took office. Carter knew what he would do to cure the stagflation that was well under way during the previous Repub administration and that's why he appointed him Fed Chair in 1979 despite his awareness that the pain of that "cure" would likely be felt all during the 1980 election year.

Reagan made no such difficult decision about that because Carter had already made that decision more than a year before he took the Oath of Office. Reagan had zero to do with Carter's Fed Chair's "tight money cure" that was already working to reduce the rate of inflation leading into and continuing into Reagan's first year in office.

Reagan's only contribution to "solving" the high Fed Funds rate "cure" Volcker was already effectively applying before he took office was his Great Repub Reagan Recession that NBER and all other data and evidence shows started no earlier than July 1981. And that's why Volcker could then further lower Fed Funds rates.

What on earth did Reagan say to Volcker in January 1981 or any time thereafter that had anything whatsoever to do with the "tight money cure" that Carter appointed Volcker to do in late 1979 and was already working? Bellow a heartfelt, "atta' boy! Keep it up! Sure glad I didn't have to make that decision. Now, somebody find my cowboy hat and pony"?

That is the classic Repub solution for lowering Fed Funds and inflation; cause a Great Recession, wipe out millions of jobs and skyrocket the unemployment rate.

The same reason the rate of inflation fell under Trump at the end of his 1st term with millions of jobs being wiped out and the unemployment rate skyrocketing to double digits.

The same reason the rate of inflation fell during Reagan's 2nd and 3rd year in office while the country was suffering through a whopping 10 consecutive months of 10%+ Unemployment Rates.

Yet Carter managed to preside over Volcker's "tight money cure" of higher Fed Funds rates without wiping out any jobs, with one of the shortest and least damaging mini Recessions on record and only a single month spike to 7. 8% in the unemployment rate in July 1980 whereupon it immediately began to trend downward month after month before Reagan took office, when Reagan took office and after Reagan took office.

Biden managed to do it without a Recession at all, lowering the employment rate and, instead of wiping out any jobs, by recovering the millions of jobs Trump's presidency wiped out and then going on to creating millions more jobs than all three previous (and current) Repub presidents combined.

In fact, Biden and Carter each created as many private-sector jobs in just 4 years as Reagan did in 8 while Reagan tripled the National Debt and each of those Dems' policies created more private-sector jobs than Trump, GW Bush and GHW Bush combined with no indication whatever that record will change by the blessed and merciful end of Trump's 2nd full term as so-called president.

You sure about that. The following article speaks to the plight of productive black men in the Dis United States of America way more than Republican propaganda.

John Boyd Jr., president of the National Black Farmers Association and a fourth-generation Virginia farmer, is coping with record diesel prices by reallocating funds from other farm expenses to cover fuel costs, a strategy he describes as "robbing Peter to pay Paul." With diesel costing him approximately $7 per gallonnearly double the price from a year agoBoyd spends roughly $1,000 to fill his tractor, while simultaneously harvesting corn that sells for only $5 per bushel

The crisis is deepening as more than 400 Black farmers face the risk of losing their farms due to these soaring operational costs.

Real world beats MAGA world due to science. Physics cannot be spun!

Rooftop solar allows my fellow citizens in the Dis United States of America to begin to take back their independence. That is priceless. It is not subject to cost benefit analysis. Now, when I looked the cost of connecting to the grid for my land in the Dominican Republic, it was more economical to build an off grid system that generates power using solar panels. Plus no monthly electrical bill for 30 years. ROTFLMAO! I am still trying to figure out integrate wind into the installation.

Frankly, I'm surprised that your Ecoflow power station and two (2) spare batteries worked at all on Earth #2 in MAGA World, due to the fact you, it wasn't long ago, you were complaining vociferously in a recent post, about "how fucking expensive batteries and power stations were" and your solution was just to go with a propane (or diesel?) generator, which did the trick for your Airstreamer RV Camper. So why the fuck, are you now buying and using power stations and batteries at all?.

Look, I didn't expect renewables (SWB) to work much at all in Trumpland on Earth #2, as they are harmful, "ugly" and are an economic disaster, on Earth #2. But, but, but...

But meanwhile... back on Earth #1, (1) global solar generation increased by a record 636 terawatt-hours (TWh) in 2025, and crossed the 3 TW installed capacity threshold, the fastest in world energy electrical grid history. Solar generated more electricity than coal in the U.S. for the first time in May 2026 (12.8% vs 12.2%) and (2) wind power supplied more than 53.5% of Britain's total electricity during the record-setting window of growth in 2026, helping drive gas-fired generation down to a multi-year low of just 2. 3% of the power mix. (3) The world installed a record 112 GW of battery storage capacity in 2025 (nearly 10 x 2021 levels), with the U.S. at new highs, adding a record 20.2 gigawatt-hours of new capacity Q2 2026.

So while renewables don't work on Earth #2, here on Earth #1, they work just fine!

    Ranking USA Recessions

All recessions are bad. But the one very brief mini recession under Carter was ranked among the "least bad" in USA history.

Meanwhile, count the number of Recessions started under Repubs vs Dems since the bill came due for WWII in the late 1940's. All of them started under Repubs except for that one very brief, least bad mini recession under Carter for the 6 months from January 1980 to July 1980.

There are only data and facts here in this link. Don't look for partisan commentary making up stuff that didn't happen. This list was compiled in 2019 so the recession during Repub Trump's 1st term is not included:

All U.S. Recessions Ranked From Bad to Downright Ugly.

    ..........
    Early 1980s Recession
    Start: January 1980

    End: July 1980

    Length (in months): 6

As inflation hit more than 14%, the Federal Reserve had to increase interest rates as a countermeasure and when combined with the energy crisis it resulted in the economy contracting for the first half of the year.
    ..........
    1981-1982 Recession
    Start: July 1981

    End: November 1982

    Length (in months): 16

The term "Stagflation" was coined to describe this era when inflation was at record highs even while the economy struggled to grow. Monetary restrictions put in place to combat inflation played a major role in causing this notorious recession.

Democratic supports continue to be silent about why they don't support crypto

Democrats oppose crypto because it can make you financially independent. No, Democrats want you to continue to sucking on the government teat so you will be consistently dependent upon the government.

Yep. On that issue, neither you nor that Cato commentator knows what he's talking about.

    NBER does though.

Interesting that the commentator knows there is such a thing as the NBER. Yet he totally misstates its officially stated timeline for those TWO DIFFERENT Recessions.

    From your link:

The private National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) has served as an authority for defining recessions in the United States.
Which strongly suggests he is flat out lying about it rather than just making a lazy mistake. Also, he gets too many other things that are just plain wrong in that commentary, too, such as the direction the rate of inflation was going when Reagan took office. He is flat out, provably wrong about it.

    Here's how it went:

July 1980. The one and only mini recession under Carter ended after 6 months.

    August 1980. No recession.

    September 1980. No recession.

    October 1980. No recession.

    November 1980. No recession.

    December 1980. No recession.

January 1981. Carter leaves office and Reagan takes office.

    January 1981. No recession.

    February 1981. No recession.

    March 1981. No recession.

    April 1981. No recession.

    May 1981. No recession.

    June 1981. No recession.

July 1981. A year after Carter's mini recession ended, Reagan's Great Repub Recession begins and continues for 1 year and 4 months.

I hope that helps. Please send this to that Cato commentator with the link I provided previously for the NBER Recession timelines.

    Thanks.

Our Registered Democrat International trick from Bangkok Thailand is right about this

Yes, every USA Republican president over the last 100 years has had a recession occur during their tenure, though the specific causes and the party in power when the downturn began vary. However, 10 of the 11 recessions since 1953 began under Republican administrations, with the notable exception being the 1980 recession, which started under Democrat Jimmy Carter.

Irrelevant to the discussion. Sample size is statistically insignificant.

    Correlation does not prove causation

Why? Because a statistical association between two variables merely indicates they change together, not that one directly causes the other.

    Neither party is mine

I continue to fight the good fight against disinformation coming from registered democrats who are International Tricks/Sexpats in Bangkok, Thailand.

At the end of World War II, from 1945 to 1946, there was a very sharp drop in U.S. output (12.1 percent) as the war economy began its transition to a civilian economy. The deepest and longest-lasting recession the United States has experienced since then began in 1980, when Jimmy Carter was president (the gross domestic product dropped 9.6 percent in the second quarter of that year) and did not end until fourth-quarter 1982, almost two years into the Reagan presidency. There were positive quarters during this almost three-year period, resulting in what is known as a double-dip recession, but GDP did not return to the 1979 level until well into 2003. Unemployment peaked at 10.6 percent in the fall of 1982.

Both President Reagan and President Obama inherited an economy suffering from a year of no growth, along with rising unemployment. (The numbers are almost identical.) But Mr. Reagan faced a far direr situation in that inflation was in the double digits and the prime interest rate was at 20 percent. In contrast, Mr. Obama inherited an economy in which inflation was falling (in fact, inflation has been close to zero for this year) and interest rates were very low.

Finally looking at economic issues here

One of ISG's most observant and skilled reading and comprehension members kindly pointed out that I "completely ignore" economic issues.

So I decided to look into it for a change and I'll be damned if I didn't discover the remarkable fact that Republicans have produced and presided over every Great Depression, Great Recession, stock market crash, housing value crash, financial crash and massive historic jobs destruction of the past 100 years and none of the great economic recoveries, great economic expansions and historic jobs gains while Democrats have produced and presided over every great economic recovery, great economic expansion and historic jobs gains and none of the Great Depressions, Great Recessions, stock market crashes, housing value crashes, financial crashes and massive historic jobs destruction of the past 100 years.

    I don't think I've ever noticed that.

In addition to which it turns out this current and two previous Repub presidents produced and presided over some of the worst jobs creation and economic results in USA history while the previous three Democratic presidents produced and presided over some of the very best. With a special nod to the fourth previous Democratic president ranking right up there with the best of them as well.

I was amazed to discover such a thing. So I thought I would mention it in one of my rare if not first and only, according to that ISG member, economic issue posts.

Oh, and there is also this:

Its awful: How tariffs, soaring fuel and higher rates are squeezing businesses

    https://www.cnbc.com/2026/09/20/tari...ndroidappshare

Tariffs are raising the cost of materials and goods, higher fuel prices are increasing production and transportation costs, and higher interest rates are making inventory more expensive to finance.

Auto suppliers, chemical companies, and other industrial businesses are seeing margins squeezed as they struggle to absorb higher costs.

Companies that can pass higher costs to customers are better positioned, while businesses facing price-sensitive consumers risk losing demand if they raise prices too much.
I'll try to submit more of these economy-related posts in the future.
