To belabor the point as far as living I lived in Nairobi, Santo Domingo, Considered Medellin and choose Cali. Infrastructure is just as good as Medellin if not slightly better in regards to flooding Cheaper, More of the kind of girls I prefer. Jardin Plaza Mall is crawling with them. Less of the super transactional monger mentality than in Medellin. Less racial gatekeeping. . Cali runs neck and neck for one of the cheapest big cities in Colombia. Sex tourism or regular Tourism Prices have been jacked up for tourists especially in housing. I never heard of place not being guest friendly in Cali airbnb super hosts cannot afford to be that picky.

That's for living here as far as visiting I would say the crown goes to Nairobi with a close second runner up being Santo Domingo. Frankly there's no better place to meet women organically and fuck them. The only negative is finding a true big booty cutie that's not a fresh off the bus Haitian she knows she's a hot commodity and will charge accordingly.

I see Chris concurs with Afro Colombianas being more educated and better presenting than your average Dominicana Black or white again bigger economy better Human Development. To the casual visitor before the Parque crackdown Meddy was far superior for the traveling Monger because Lleras was a one stop shop for snatch even if more expensive. Still easier to navigate Fakebook for floozies that doesn't work as well in Cali. But also far far far more dating app deaths in Medellin.

If the crackdown holds then coming to Cali versus Medellin becomes a toss up. One thing is for certain It seems that the powers that be in Medellin would rather you visit other cities in Colombia because Medellin and to a certain extent Bogota are the only cities in Colombia where you can get hassled. You fly into CLO you could bring a rolling suitcase full of condoms for all they care.

Frankly, I see the old abuelas shuffling about the mall, and you can see the lack of melanin in how poorly they age.

For the most part, I don't really walk around with a race chip on my shoulder. By and large I tend to avoid large groups of black people, to be honest. Calling Cali the "Atlanta of Colombia" would turn me away more than anything, because I do not like Atlanta.

Cali was supposed to be part of this trip, and you and I have chatted about it in the past, but Meddy had more options for the specialists I needed to see, so I just spent the time here. Plus it was simpler logistically with the flights.

Next trip, I'll definitely head down there. And I'm 100% sure I'll have a great time, too, as I do anywhere. Regular, non-pro women are my jam. All day, every day. Even with my middling Spanish, I'm charming enough to get into plenty of panties.

The only question I have is whether there's areas similar to Laureles where I can just walk to whatever it is that I want. Walk-ability is a big deal for me when it comes to city living.

I will leave the large groups of Black People argument alone because it is hard to define large groups. As far as medical a lot of small Island people come to get health care at Belanova care in Cali and Valle Del Lilli Hosptal is one of the best in Latin America. What I meant by the Atlanta of Colombia is Black People have money in Cali. The owner of my apartment is Black and she actually lives in Atlanta. As far as the walkability Cali is just like Medellin but smaller and the Valley is wider. You can walk in Laureles and parts of Provenza But try walking in Sabeneta or Itagui. Hell walk to El Tesor mall and report back.

I will say that you can easily walk to any mall in Cali with no problem because it's actually in the valley not in the hills. There is hilly parts of Cali but you would not want to go there because that's the hood outside of one upscale neighborhood. I have gone over navigating the city of Cali a million times but north or south you can find anything you want.

The only thing is you happened to end up in Medellin so you like it, I ended up in Cali and I like it. I've spent a lot of time in Medellin and kind of don't really like it. I can see why people would like it but as a 5 year resident of Colombia I find that in Medellin prices are insane, traffic is bad it's pretty hilly outside of Laureles. But outside of that it's clean and orderly. One other thing that a resident would know that a tourist wouldn't is that it floods more medellin in the rainy season. because of the runoff from their hills. I do applaud you on your Internet skills because the other problem is most of the cute chicks from Choco I saw were scooped up by the Half pats and sexpats in Medellin. So not using the apps it's kinda hard to meet Afro Colombianas organically.

Cali is the one place that has not one but two majority Black Strip clubs if that appeals to you; no BBls. One last pro to Cali is the food It´s more like West Indian food. Almost as good as Costena food not as bland as the fare in Medellin if you're eating local. I would advise you to give Cali a look see either you'll like it or run back to Meddy. I ran back the other way.

I would say that the weather in Cali is maybe ten to 15 degrees hotter than Meddy in the summer. Frankly it's almost the same It is an elevated valley. If you had to compare it to Santo Domingo. I'the say Santo is hot way hotter than Cali with more humidity than Cali. I do not gatekeep Cali but I do not promote it because it's way less gringofied than Medellin. No hip Hop no hennessey. In the rainy season like right now in October ID say the weather was almost the same. Really the main difference is Cali is more of the real Colombia as opposed to Medellin much cheaper for everything much much less traditional prepago type of girls. Obvioulsy Like everywhere there's more prepagos than you can shake a stick at but much more likely to actually meet a college student or a barrio girl if you have some spanish and not a weirdo. I described it to my buddy Grown Man as the Atlanta of Colombia and that it is It has the most Black People in one place outside of maybe Buenaventura but Buena is way more Colombian than most people (including me) can stand. Again like I always say for the guy looking for a lowkey vacation and you don't need paisas (there's obvioulsy many here just not as many as in Medellin) Real asses real hair and real culture then Cali might be your jam.

One caveat, I have found that people are either meddy fans or Cali fans as much as I post here I wouldn't want to live in Medellin personally I find it too antiseptic too gringofied hard to justify prices charged too hilly and low key racist for me. Obviously a tourist will not see racism but I almost never seen a Afro Colombian without a gun or a mop in their hands whereas the guy who run the electric company in Cali (and front runner for mayor) Is Afro Colombian. So for the guys truly happy in Meddy it is probably best that you stay there.

I think 5 years ago my little head would have gotten me in big fucking trouble coming to Medellin. These days I'm more mellow. Maybe too mellow. Will still throw down in the bedroom, but just not as horned up as I was. Which is actually part of why I'm here. Had appointments with an endocrinologist to work through some issues I have.

I haven't been posting about any of my escapades mainly because I've been busy. I'm here for medical reasons, I've been working the whole time (including the 2 weeks I spent in Santo Domingo before flying over), so it's been mostly low-key. I haven't been to Parque Lleras. Also haven't been to El Centro. Not even once. I think I drove past the Parque on the way to an appointment, but I couldn't be sure.

I'd be a terrible guide for any man coming here to party it up. I haven't felt unsafe at any point, though I do practice common sense. With all the crazy shit that goes down, I don't really get the appeal of the party lifestyle. I've been out plenty, but I'm just past the age where loud music and alcohol are things that interest me. Rooftop bars / restaurants have been the most interesting places I've been. Good food, good company.

That's what I've been saying, but some people seem to think that medellin and Colombia is the epicenter of tourism in the americas. Exageration aside. Medellin does not really have much going for it for the average tourist.

Exactly It is kind of a Tropical Seattle. The weather is fine and when the Peso was low It made sense for digital nomads to stay here but now with prices gone sky high I fail to see the draw other than the chicas. The town thrived on vibes as word gets around that sex tourists are not welcome the relatively few high end tourists will leave too. The Parque Lleras clubs were focused on mongers and gringos. Get rid of that and it's all reggaeton. That's another thing with all the big Reggaeton artists they do not even promote concerts things. Cali promotes Salsa way more than Meddy promotes Reggaeton. Karol G should have a version of Dollywood in Meddy by now.

Goes back to the question why would a non monger go to Medellin? And why would they spend more than a weekend here? The only places they would want to be in is three rather compact neighborhoods.

I know there's Meddy addicts and if you know the city well you can have fun here but If I were considering a first trip I would wait to see how things shake out with the peso exploding in value and the Political posturing on this fake crackdown.

I assume victory will be declared no later than a year when the mall is constructed and maybe the mall itself will be a pick up area hard tp tell people to move along In a malls.

Agreed. I went to meddy from January 2025 to May 2026 a ton of times in that year and a half but since May (Memorial day weekend) I haven't returned and won't return until second half of 2027.

My overall assessment: Unless you have a few trips to Medellin and plethora of puta passarounds under your belt I would give Medellin and Colombia as a whole a miss for six month months to a year.

I'm not trying to gatekeep Colombia it's a wonderful place and although I'm not a personal fan Medellin a great city and with the new mall, beach / aquapark and tunnel it's going to greater later.

But prices are high because of the lower US Dollar, The strong Peso, More people moving in from Choco because of the earthquake, and the crackdown. You can't go to the Parque and I hear Centro is going through a Mini crackdown so for the meanwhile the sex shopping centers are basically dead. Again I think this is all about non accountability for their ¨excellent cadavers¨ I. E. High profile scopamine victims that they haven't gotten a handle on. Crime is way down in Medellin but so is Gentrification so I expect as less mongers come Medellin criminals will go back to drugging local rich people. Maybe the Airbnb superhosts who jacked up the rents to insane levels. So I would wait for the reset and them to declare victory and move on. The Mayor will probably make another run at the Presidency in two years and if there's a slow down then everyone will move on.
