Posts: 2740See it once in your life.
Yes, it's worth it and yes, it's overrated. You need to visit it once, and put the been there done that stamp on it. It's more than just high prices and tourist trap. The electricity is real and palpable. Mr. E compared it to Mardi Gras, I think the comparison is fair (it celebrates the same occasion, LOL), but Rio celebrations add their own carioca-infused insanity.

That was nearly 20 years ago, so no Airbnb yet. Next day I rented an apartment from a local broker for everyday, not Carnival-inflated price, but it all depends on your risk tolerance level. There will be a reality check for many landlords and rental managers, 2-3 days after the Carnival starts.
Push comes to shove, there are love motels to get a roof over your head.
Of course, programas cost more, but not crazy more from what I remember, and termas stay open too, kkkk.

Posts: 2190From what I remember, the Salvador t-shirts were essentially your entrance into the various street parties.

Posts: 3129Very true. Optimal time to come to Rio is right after carnival, when prices go down 50% or more.

Posts: 3129Hoar ISG Kiosk. American Kiosk.
So yesterday, Vagabundo, aka, AK to G3 a fellow German, had a regular girl over for 1. 7 hours of fucking (out of a weekly goal of 4 hours minimum per week), as part of a overall health plan that, yes, I am doing in AI.
Following that I went across the street to this place, the American Kiosk, which may as well be the Hoaring ISG Kiosk with the girl as the owner is hoar (and 420) friendly, and speaks proper Texas English.

Or basically posto 3.

Then after this cool kiosk, we went to temekeria, which is the best sushi rodizio at olegario maciel 373. I paid the girl 300 r plus uber back.
So, now hoar wants to come back on Friday and do the kiosk, so I take that as a thumbs up. Basiically the crowd is the windsor, which has a lot of hot girls, and I shoot an miss but sometimes hit the Windsor hot girls.
I paid 375 r for the sushi, but since I like sushi, well, I don't really count that.
Oh, yeah, as for emporio, well, sure, some of the faces may not be at your image of a perfect 9, but the faciltities and the performance are good, but what do I know. It is just my opinion. The real calculation is.
CPF PM A.
Cost Per Fuck Per Minute Annualized.
Most mongers are in town for 1 to 5 weeks at a time, but I live here. So the Annualized matters. To me. Locals are paying 200 r per hour. At emporio, they have a nice waiting area, and they have water and coffee, and they let you use the bathroom if you are waiting for a friend, and good wifi. Those things matter at least to me selling crypto vol. As in volatility, as in option volatility.
Now in the passport brothers economist article, the CPFPMA is the big mac index for sex. And there are passport sisters, rich world women coming to the beach for penises that they forgot to castrate back in Lugano (where Lugano in vagabundo's universe stands for everywhere from LAX to JFK, for you airport code types).
OK, why does this matter? Well, I don't know. Fuck. Regular pussy like Generation Kill noted is the key to world peace. Now hot Finnish women say they want to come to rio, and my dick says, I am getting 4 or 8 hours of bare pussy per week, so baby, what are you going to do to top that? Fly your tight little blond pussy here and sit on my dick, with no cost to me like my rio women.
Anyway, you have to check out Czech in effect's youtube -- he is right, but you have to keep walking down the beach from posto 2 (where he films his video) and get to posto 3. And I would avoid leblon airbnb's it is now a trend that airbnb landlords will totally try to fuck gringos. My experience (gavea), the experience of at least two other ISG members.
Not sayin, just sayin. Import your women from centro prives, to barra. And now there are at least 3 barra prives with similar talent to centro prives.

Posts: 2018Tons of us on here are Spanish speakers who try to get by in Brazil. I've never tried to seriously study it, but it's gotten easier for me over the years just from so much exposure.

Posts: 18757To me it is extremely overrated. Just a bunch of people out in the street drinking. Something I was really surprised by is that there are no souvenirs to be purchased. You go to New Orleans and they have everything under the sun to buy that says Mardi Gras. In Brazil, nothing. I was lucky that the hotel I stayed in in Salvador was giving out tshirts to the guests for a party they were having. I got mine framed as it was the only carnaval souvenir available between both Salvador and Rio.

This has been discussed so, so many times on this site over the years. You really should use the search function and RTFF for answers to well-discussed topics like this.

Posts: 2Thanks! Also, One Last Question About Trip Timing
Thanks for your comments, everyone. I think you're all right. Spanish is my real interest and learning it is my biggest hobby, so I'll keep going with that. I'll check out Rio without trying too hard to learn Portuguese and then (if I really like Brazil), I'll make the time commitment to learn Portuguese as well for future trips.

One last question for you guys. Is it worth it to go to Rio during Carnaval for the first trip, or is it overrated? And do the prices for the girls go up significantly during Carnaval as well?

Posts: 3129The prime areas to actually rent IMHO are between av de pepe 600 and Lucio costa 2916, which puts you in less than 10,000 steps of metro jardim oceanico, and within 10,000 steps of olegario, perola negra. That entire area is one big scandallo meat market. You may be going to SP to scandallo to shoot big game in a zoo but the hottest real Paulistano women (and usually their boyfriends are coming to barra and the beach in Rio, and they prefer barra in the area that I outlined, and if they surf and they know what they are doing, they go to praia macumba.
At the bottom of the p4 p scene is the street walkers at p5 or p9-11 (ask for casuarina, the best rich people restaurant at P10).
As I mentioned a good outpost, in fact, the vagabundo command post de facto at this time is the quiosque sunset, run by an American. At posto 3, just a little further towards posto 4, look for the american flag.
American and local sports, good american breakfast for 45 r with real hashbrowns. Instagram: at quiosquesunsetbarra.
I take my girls there after I bang them for 120 minutes, haha.

Posts: 129Small Report on FatalModel Escorts
Hi all,
I just got back from a recent trip to Rio a while back. I was in the area for work so I really didn't have time to stay out late or be adventurous so I stuck with FatalModel for screening a few girls. I wanted to highlight two girls that were interesting during my trip, that were on the pricey side. I like to sample up and down the spectrum so I tend to book some cheaper and some more expensive, and I do feel (AND THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION) that paying some premium is usually better for shorter-term travelers. I do frequent the termas when I get time so that's my go-to for nameless hookups. Overally, I can only say that most of the well reviewed termas here are good enough for that mid-range experience. If you don't know Portuguese and don't have time to really go out and search, the more expensive providers are a bit safer; their english is usually bad especially if you are going for girls who are under 24 years old, but they are more versed in working with foreigners.
The first was Rubi - https://fatalmodel.com/acompanhante/...-perez-2789817.
To me, she's a great companion for lunch / dinner / extended dates. She is early thirties (if I had to guess) and her pictures are extremely representative of her looks. Great english, likes to talk, sensual in bed. Her price is steep which I imagine is due to her marketing herself to tourists. I wanted to see if the price was worth the hype, and while I wouldn't go that far, I do think she is a great "safe" pick for someone who is looking for an easier date. She will be able to fully talk in English with you and is as advertised. I'd put her in the "mature guy" category since I think she shines best when you are looking to have a date.
The second was Yara - https://fatalmodel.com/acompanhante-...nauara-2229172.
I like the exotic look and was intrigued so I booked some time with her. She doesn't speak English at all, but I was able to talk well with her in spanish and she seemed to understand. We did have to do a bit of google translate tag if the conversation got too complex. Overall, don't expect a proper date unless you are versed in Portuguese or can speak fluent Spanish so you can at least partially understand her and don't have to be fully on the phone. She is definitely a proper 20 year old party girl, so you have to expect that vibe. I smoked up with her and drank a bit, but she isn't pushy if that's not your jam. Even with the language barrier, we clicked really well and I had a ton of fun (the MJ always helps). Nice girl, great service, and worth a shot if you are willing to live with the language barrier.
I did have some other good experience on FM so I would recommend the site since it seems more legitimate to what you should expect to see. Have fun.

Posts: 2190Everyone has their own language regimen so you will get a variety of takes. Either way, you will be fine. Just learn the numbers for stating pricing and learn the sex words. Anal sex is sexo anal. Half joking, you're half way there. Now learn blow job without condom and cum in your mouth.

However, the Portuguese language has very different sounds for a few letters. For instance, an O at the end is pronounce as "ooh". A letter T or the have a soft sound if followed by an I or an unstressed E with some variation.
Don't worry Brazilians know we mix up some of the sounds. It's not difficult in practice. You will hear the differences on the ground. This is what gives Portuguese it's soft sound.
As far as Pimsleur and other language programs, I think you need to spend months with these and even then your comprehension might be low. It's easier to say things then to hear Portuguese and respond. I would recommend something like Portuguese in Ten Minutes a Day focusing on what I would call Travel Portuguese. It will allow you to do basic travel things and have some simple back and forth with the ladies, the desk clerk, the waitress, et cetera.
Now if you plan to spend a lot of time in Brazil, then definitely go with an extensive language program.

You either will have a good time or you won't. Not everyone falls in love in Rio -- If you do, this is when you lean on studying Portuguese for repeat visits. Reserve the first trip for termas and easy prives, where GT or Chat GPT is all you need.

Posts: 3129When you live in barra, it becomes clear that there are addresses where the barravips girls live:
Av das americas 7897 -- barra worst (fucking terrible internet, which cost me in the six figures).
Av malibu 1355 -- across the street, much better internet, I figured out too late.
By the way, if the IDF or some military were to drop a few 2000 pound bombs on av das americas 7897, that would be a just outcome.
The previous hotel California, the infamous former resident of vagabundo.
Av gastao senges 395, transamerica, now known as mediteraneo flat.
It is all in my updated bubbaboy guide, PM me for a copy.

I am in the same boat as you on Spanish and never been to Brazil. I have watched youtube videos of Portuguese to learn it with flashcards and what not. I was surprised by how much easier it is to learn Portuguese after studying Spanish consistently and some words are similiar, then for the words that are different just remember the Portuguese version after saying the spanish version in your head then when you get stuck on a Portuguese word just try to think of what it is in Spanish to help you remember what it is in Portuguese. I say study Portuguese for like 2 weeks before you go to Brazil and you will be able to have easy short convos in Portuguese just like you can in Spanish. At least that is how I felt when I was studying Portuguese earlier this year. I am hoping to go to Brazil end of next year or in 2028 so don't need to study yet anymore for now.
