As Jose said, the only five stars in town is the Castro's Park www.castrospark.com.br, and definitely the best alternative, even if it's far from western 5 stars standarts ; i had a 160 reals/day/net, Sat and Sun lunches buffets included, for a two weeks-and-something stay. The staff is friendly, there's sometimes some cuties around the swimming-pool and the saturday afternoon feijoada is THE place to be for the Goiania's upper-class community. You will definitaly impress your potential victims by staying there. I personnaly found that Castros Park was a cool place.

I must say that Goiania is my one of fav city in Brasil, even if it lacks that 'tropical' atmosphere you find in Nordeste or Amazonia.

It's a clean, modern, wealthy and undervisited city with an incredible ratio of model-type girlies and a highly pleasant country and western atmosphere. There's a lot of Texas imitation in the Goias state,(sertaneja country music, rodeos, guys wearing Stetsons, ect). There's also VERY nice timeless old gold-mining towns, like Goias Velho or Pirenopolis, but also many parks with waterfalls and natural swimming pools and others natural reserves throughout the State.

There's plenty of nightlife/clubs, and a lot of mongering options, yet IMO no really need to use them. I visited only two high end P4P clubs, but I heard about a place named 'Elite' which seems also worth the visit. There's also plenty of cheaper places that I didn'd visit. All costs in Goiania are anyway about half of Sao Paulo's prices.

P4P clubs I visited :

- Real Prive : The most famous upscale club in town, a kind of Playboy Mansion in a huge mexican style 'hacienda'. The place has constantly around 30 or more girls inside, whose level is 6/8 with a few 9's. Good strip shows with some famous strippers, most from Sao Paulo and southern states, live music, DJs, restaurant (excellent picanha), dance floor where the guests dance with the girls between the shows, outdoor swimming pool, ect. Everytime I've been there I found a good party atmosphere. Only take-out, prices around 150/200 reals "a noite inteira", even for the strippers.

- Platinnum : Also a famous place, the second best choice in town, in the airport area. Very good strip shows as well. The price levels are as Real Prive, yet the level of the girls is slightly lower.

Regular bars/discos. There's a GREAT non-pro potential, yet in Goiania, you MUST speak portugese :

- Hit's
- Swingers
- Cafe Cancun disco (in the Mall Flamboyant). Sundays are 'forro nights" with lots of beautiful people and stunning girls.
- Cafe Cancun bar/restaurant (near the Castro's Park hotel) : very good atmosphere and food, it was my headquarters in Goiania.
- Eclipse : my favorite place, an immense forro/sertaneja place with live music, packed on weekends with tons of sexy "country girls", many eager to meet gringos. A bit far out of town, but really worth the visit.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'm flying from Belem so a bit expensive to bring company. Then flying out from the Argentina side. Seems like a fun way to do the cross rather than buses thru Uruguay again (although that can be fun too). Never been to Foz b4 and don't usually do Indie Jones (much to Prosal's disappointment). Always planned to go there with a nice girlie from RJ but maybe next time eh (unless I can get one to rendevous). Sorry to hear there's no real Temple of Poon, but I will try to have fun anyway

Don't miss the Argentinian side of the falls. I stayed on the Brasilian side and only visited Argentinian side during the day. I found Puerto Iguasu to be much nicer with lots of bars and restaurants. If I ever go again I'll stay on that side.

Use the local buses to get to both sides. Very convienient and well organised.

Make sure you have your passport with you when visiting Argentinian side. They stamp it good for 90 days stay. Also have AR pesos when going to the falls on that side. It is the only currency they accept for the entrance fee.

Good luck. It is truly well worth it. Very nice experience.

Belem's currently my fave city and looking forward to returning. Yep, it's a hard choice between pros and non-pros there. My last trip there was also my first, so am just prodding away to see if anyone has any breaking news lol!

You're absolutely right that Iguacu is not worth much mongering wise. This is mainly a place to BYOG, really. Also, while there, even for nightlife, the majority of the locals there told me to go to the Argentinian side as it's more lively with way more options and also a lot cheaper too.

However, when I was there, quite a few people told me not to waste time/money in Iguacu, instead hop on a cab and go to Ciudad del Este in Paraguay, where you can have chicas of good quality for dirt cheap (think Rio Centro's budget options). And apparently, the Paraguayanas are hot and sexy. There's also a casa de show whose name I don't really recall (perhaps Crystal) situated on the way to the Falls. Expect to pay around 300+Reais for a programma, there.

For Belem, haven't been there yet but I have met in here quite a few very hot non pros who are from there. Belem/and Para in general is filled with beautiful, sexy and easy going non pros. Depending on how long you'll be there, give this a try.

I wasn recently in Belem(last week). What I can tell you about is there is an area called the Docas (Docks). This is a waterfront area with a couple of nice restaurants and; and a "boardwalk along the Rio Negra". The goratas walk up and down along the borad walk trying to get the attention of the customters.

Also, there is the world famos Locomotive entertainment complex. Interestingly, this place is located in a normal neirborhood. The qualily is veriable, but is you goto Belem, you must go becuase this is an instiutions.

I also went to a couple of the Boite in central; which are like Rio $1/minute spots. I think the address that been previouly posted. So if you want to go, then read throught the tread for addresses.

One other note: in city like Belem, Manaus, they are on Brasilian time: meaning things don;t really get started to around 8pm at night. Although a coulpe of the Boites open early, only the uglier garoatas are there.

As for sight seeing; I wasn't really impressed with Belem.

I ran into this wonderful forum not so long ago. It’s great, wonderful reports! After wandering the streets of Natal and some other smaller cities in the Brazilian Nordeste and the interior for over ten years, with some short breaks to Rio as well, I’m heading for Bahia next week. Planning to do some profound exploration of Salvador, after that want to head for Maceió. Salvador wouldn’t be a problem, since it’s a bigger city, I’ll normally find my way there or the meninas will find me ☺.

On Maceió I’ve read the great reports, so I have a basic idea of where to go and how it is. But the reports date from 2007 and earlier, and might be somewhat outdated. Is there somebody around here with recent information on Maceió? And how about the accommodation? Are the hotels GF? Normally, I would prefer an apartment, I’m looking for some on www.aluguetemporada.com.br, normally that works fine for me, but if somebody has an interesting suggestion?

I’ll post and update any relevant information after I arrive next week.

I can only remember three times that a BF/husband has been around. The BFs have not been welcoming me with a big joyful smile, but after some chatting they have been very calm, well-mannered and even showed nice hospitality. I doubt that they had any harder feelings towards the wifey after I left.

I saw some beautiful girls in Boa Vista. The problem is that the city is so extremely boring. Night-life etc is among the worst in Brazil.

The first day I wandered around in the city several hours and thought there must be something interesting to see. Absolutely nothing exciting at all. A 30 minutes-walk from the centro and you're out in the bush.
