I'd like to ask you again if the "Travelodge" is girlfriendly or not. I know that the question has already been asked here but unfortunately I didn't find an answer here.

I have the same question about the new "eleven hotel".

Can one of the gentlemen here help me?

Can anyone confirm this hotel is Green. Also is there any pathway directly the their club XS from inside the hotel.Hi,

I had stayed in this hotel. It is always green. In fact all the hotels in Sukhumvit area especially star hotels are green.

Bhaskar.

Better not to use strange euphemisms. Pullman does not have much vegetation in my memory. I was there with GF when it was called Grand Millenium.

Club XS appears to be inside the Hotel (6th floor).

There are two hotels on Soi 11 with similar names. One is called Eleven Avenue Suites and it has been there for some years. It is close to Sukhumvit. There is a new hotel being built with a sign that says Eleven Hotel. The new hotel is actually a complete renovation of the old Grand President Tower 3. The new hotel is across the street from the old and still functioning Grand President. It is on top of the German restaurant.

Based on what I saw in August, Eleven Hotel would not be open yet. The term green means it is good to go. On this forum it would mean that it is good to take girls back to the hotel.

I agree it would be nice to avoid using slang. The same goes for initials / abbreviations. There are many times reports have initials I don't understand.

"Green" is the term used in the Dubai and middle east threads for girl friendly. I. E. Green light = good to go. I picked up on this reading the dubai thread recently for an upcoming trip.

Almost every hotel in Bangkok along sukhumvit between soi 1 - 100 is girl friendly, book for double occupancy and should be fine.

I mean the new hotel which is across the "Grand President".

I am personal totally fine with the "green", "yellow", "red" terms. I know this already from the Dubai threat.

Sorry to correct you. OYO (On Your Own) is budget hotel room booking website similar to booking dot com or agoda or hotels dot com etc.

OYO is a Hotel chain I think.

Sorry to correct you. OYO (On Your Own) is budget hotel room booking website similar to booking dot com or agoda or hotels dot com etc. Thanks was only a wild guess on my part. Just thought it was a not a hotel when the guy mentioned staying at the OYO. I guess (note guess) that several Hotels are linking up with this term OYO somehow. I see Agoda and Booking.com etc. Are advertising certain "OYO" Hotels, so that makes it look like a chain or franchise system, more so than a web site, to the casual observer. However I don't claim to know any details really.

Never saw it before, not mongering in Middle East. Here the standard term is "girl friendly". Its best to use standard terms and abbreviations unless the intention is to baffle some of the readers.

Even some American slang can be almost unheard of in other countries, (normally the type to crude to appear on TV). Same for slang specific to any other countries. Most of my American buddies don't use particularly crude language. They are generally quite polite, so I don't hear all the slang terms. English guys love crude language though. Not sure why.

Hotel prices for Bangkok seem high for next few days, e. G. Nearly 50% higher than expected for some Hotels. Is something special happening?

Sorry to correct you. OYO (On Your Own) is budget hotel room booking website similar to booking dot com or agoda or hotels dot com etc.Pity you don't really know either, when you want to correct.

OYOrooms website claims to be a Hotel chain and many Hotels are adding OYO to their name: OYO 118 Ruamchit Plaza just one example.

"OYO is the world's fastest growing company & world's 6th largest chain of operated hotels, homes, managed living and workspaces. Our portfolio comprises more than 23,000+ hotels in 800+ cities in 18 countries around the World".

Could be some sort of franchise (at a guess). Maybe a little more than a booking site. OYO Hotels can be booked from Agoda, Booking.com, etc. Too.

It appears that OYO booking site can offer reduced prices, over Booking.com etc., but only for budget Hotels affiliated.
OYO website seems to be under devel. Response time was poor and not all functions seemed to work, e.g. Map View.

Of my recent stay in Bangkok this is the favourite of the three hotels I stayed in.

It's girl-friendly, of course. One of the girls left her ID, the other just walked right in with me, past reception. Variable enforcement of security controls.

The room- nice walk-in shower with rainfall shower head and wall mounted hose.

It has good sound proofing. The bed and pillows are good.

Bed not too hard, just firm enough.

Facilities Nice little rooftop pool with numerous lounge chair options. Small gym, consistent with size of hotel, I'd say.

Massage rooms. Which offers extras. Wasn't in the mood to partake, but the massage was good. But the friendliness of the staff is the noticeable standout. Smiles and helpfulness all the way.

Good buffet breakfast for 199 Baht. Decent egg station and bread and pastry options, fruit, several Asian options. (compared to the breakfast at Grand Swiss most of whose options I wouldn't ever partake of for breakfast many Asian dishes of curry, spicy noodles, congee et al, - the price differential isn't worth it for me, Grand Swiss breakfast being 350 baht. The price point here is just about OK for what I usually eat, comes to around 6).

The top floor bar and restaurant also good for the hotel class.

I stayed 21-25 August and paid 8700 Baht for 4 nights inc 3 breakfasts at 199.

I probably prefer this over my previous favourite, Citadines on Soi 11. The apartment rooms at Citadines are great, and spacious but the breakfast 'room' I didn't like- in the adjacent pub area. Also Citadines room didn't have a walk-in shower.

I like the fact that it's just off the beaten track, down Soi 10.

WIR? Definitely.

Grand Swiss Soi 11.

Super good location for shops and restaurants.

The reception was efficient but a bit snooty at check in.

Excellent buffet breakfast with many many options, from hot and spicy Asian dishes to typical western staples such as pastries, sliced bread and toast and jam. Good egg station. Many juices and fruit slices etc. Really something for all tastes. Only thing to improve for me would have been a dedicated coffee bar, maybe a barista offering fresh espresso, cappucino etc. And Nutella for the breads. LOL.

The pool on floor 7 was quite nice too. Gym I didn't use but seems OK for size of hotel. Just one guy in every time I went past.

The room. This was OK. One of the ceiling lights was out; the bed was comfy but there were only 2 very deep pillows. A call to housekeeping remedied this. There were no small (hand) towels so these too had to be requested. The ceiling was rather low (room 508). Maybe other floors are different. Another fail for me was having the air con located directly over the bed. Again, may be this particular class of room. It was rather too noisy also. Walk in Shower was OK, with a window separating the shower from the bedroom and Venetian blinds to open or close to view one's partner. The TV had no BBC World News nor France 24, maybe CNN.

Being on a lower floor, one can enter up the ramp to the left of the main entrance and avoid reception entirely. So I walked in with women without registering.

Despite the (350 B /€10.50) excellent breakfast I'd take Galleria 10 over this place. WIR? Not sure.

On8, nana.

During the day one can enter via the entrance on Suhkumvit which is shared with Raja tailors shop. Bit strange. There's also an entrance at the back, which is the only one during night and early morning.

I used this just for the daytime before my late flight. Strange smell in reception and corridors. Room was OK. Nice big mirror on wall and in bathroom. Again, no hand towels here. Had to request. And they brought something resembling a face flannel, about 8 inches square. Bed was comfy and pillows OK. Again, room rather dark due to 2 ceiling lights above the desk and tv being out (room 210). Good illumination around bed. Nice spacious walk-in shower. WIR? No.

Hotels affiliated with Oyo are usually budget properties. Oyo is based out of India where it took many by surprise in it's growth. They are now expanding and adding hotels across the world. I remember seeing one in London during my last visit.

Hello all,

The review is a little late but I thought it may help. I visited back in May and going again in Oct. Stayed in Hilton for 5 days. I am a gold member so they upgraded me to the honors floor which required a key in the elevator. Also, the breakfast was free. I met two girls from Thai friendly in the lobby and brought them back to my room with no issue (one of them stayed overnight and had breakfast and stayed through the afternoon and no one checked her ID or anything) and also met a girl from smoochi who came directly to the room.

Nice clean hotel and good location with plenty of massage places nearby. Also, the Doubletree is right behind and could be accessed from the back of the Hilton.

I think most middle level Hotel don't provide hand towels, only two large towels for shower and a shower mat. They probably believe small hand towels is a bit pretentious. I could be wrong since I don't particularly notice such details.

Sure the more classy Hotels provide a bigger range for breakfast, and makes it more expensive. I like a big range since I don't eat typical stuff, no bread, no pastries, no cereal unless is oats, no congee (rice porridge). Omelette with salad or other veg O.K. I am on a low carbs diet which many Hotels do not provide for. The again I don't like to pay a lot extra for B/F so usually I don't even take a Hotel breakfast which would rarely be value for money. I can buy stuff for my be / F the day before and make coffee in the room.

Sounds like your minimum standard is a bit higher than a budget Hotel. So you might have to pay more sometimes. Great though if Galleria 10 is good enough for you, but not a really cheap option.

Suppose I was basing my expectation (of hand towels) on previous visits to Citadines and Sawasadee hotels where they were provided (and at K Hotel in Phuket). Not sure how these classify in quality rankings. Now I am in Laos. Hotel has no hand towels, two body towels very artistically folded like swans (big deal) and a shower mat. No elevator (lift) (Only floors 1 and 2), no refrigerator (could be common to not provide in Laos), coffee packets provided and electric jug, but coffee is fucking "3 in 1 Instant" Nescafe. Can't stand sugar in my coffee. Ha ha. Fortunately the bed mattress is quite soft, softer than many Bangkok Hotels. However these days I tolerate quite firm. Sort of got semi used to it.

Will be interesting to see if breakfast has anything worth eating for a low Carbs person. Hotel just does the basics. Outside of the building looks grubby like needs a good scrub clean or paint job. They probably can't afford it.

Room and bathroom is large. Its not a top class Hotel clearly but very close to airport. Fortunately my stay is short. here is the funny part. The bathroom is so long, that the wardrobe with safe inside it, is in the bathroom. Ha ha. Yes it is a separate room with door. I suppose it is a dressing room/bathroom.

There are some high class very beautiful Hotels in Bangkok and fab apartments by the river too. I prefer to save money and spend it on girls. So always compromising about something for rooms. Main function is a nice bed to sleep in, a bathroom, aircon, reasonable desk with power points, and very important is quiet and lack of stinks. Unfortunately it gets hard to avoid odoriferous guests in the elevator. Therefore avoid Hotels in some areas.

Shouldn't that be on the Vientiane Board? And what use is it over there without the name of the Hotel?

Or do you think folks are just interested in your opinion of what a proper hotel should be?

Right on the corner of Sukhumvit and Soi 21, above the Indulge restaurant. The rooms are ok and the amenities are ok, but the breakfast deal with the Indulge Restaurant is a joke.

The breakfast deals are ala carte and there is a list of what you can order by complete meals. You get 2 cups of coffee on #1, only 1 cup of coffee on all the others, but she will give you a deal of 45 baht per cup. I tried to get her, the owner, to realize that all hotel breakfast included situations, are buffet and the coffee is free. She said her coffee is expensive and special and she is loosing money at 45 baht a cup.

I also complained about the, no juice, no cereal, no fruit situation. She's middle eastern or Armenian and refused to discuss it with me. So be it. Don't stay at this hotel, so many others that have great service and breakfast.

This is to bad as I enjoyed some of their dinner dishes. But over priced and small portions.

RL.

All organic and delicious, bicycles for use and NO rain or flooding.

Next time you go to Laos do some research, I'm really surprised that you of all people would not set your itinerary at high standards, like you profess you do for the ladies you take.

If only I had been staying in Luang Prabang. Next time. Booking.com shows 2900 Baht for a single night in middle of next week .

Yes I did minimal research (like find hotels close to airport) and done in a rush without reading any forums etc. Ha ha.

Not sure what you mean by "Organic", since does not really exist in Laos and Thailand. You have no clues what insecticides and weedicides were used and if soil was contaminated by heavy metals etc. Maybe you mean a good vegetables selection. Did they have fucking good coffee and real milk? That is a great start for me. No cheap Robusta bean coffee that tastes like brewed iron filings for me. One always suspects in Laos they will try to provide the cheapest option they can find, but perhaps some Hotels can be different. If a Hotel states they use organic, I always consider that to be bullshit sales talk. Cancer rates in Thai and Laos villages are very high, I think there are reasons, and is not caused by real organic food production, I am sure. At my own farm we try to be as organic as possible, but we can easily be polluted by neighbouring farms and smoke from burning off rice fields. I will aim to measure the heavy metals in the soil and underground water soon. We have to use some chemicals to control ants and termites invading the house. Are they safe chemicals? Permethrin, RCA, etc. ? Hard to say. Ants invading the chicken house is another problem. Is the chicken and fish feed totally organic? I doubt it. Its is extremely tough to do real "organic" if no body else is doing it.

Thailand is low on banning hazardous chemicals. Asbestos still widely used here as example for insulation, brake pads etc. One would have thought these are things known to be very harmful and should be banned. A relative was an electrician in working house roofs (not in Thailand) and he succumbed to an asbestos related lung disease. Some pesticides are very dangerous, but I am not expert.

Just tried two budget Hotels in Sukhumvit Soi 37. Adagio and Retro 39. Both had faults so can't recommend, even though very low priced.

Adagio faults:

Small room, no wardrobe (a pipe is there can be used to hang clothes), no phone in the room, some rooms have no window to outside. Otherwise okay Best to take the Superior room (not basic one) with window. Strange priorities, all rooms have a sofa but no wardrobe.

Retro 39 faults:

Bed very hard mattress, desk has no chair only low stool unusable, without putting a pillow on it. Otherwise good. Ha ha. But faults are serious ones. Good bathroom with walk in shower.

Adagio would be my preference due to comfortable bed, even though Retro room is bigger. Sakura Sky (Soi 33) is okay For a budget Hotel and for extreme low price, EM33 (El Majestic) is a possible. It is now in the OYO chain so book on their web site for low price.

I used to stay only 4 stars or 5 stars on special price, but tried some budget Hotels recently. One problem is budget Hotels can have noisy groups of Indians staying there. I had to ask one group to please close their door and tone it down, while I was still trying to sleep. Sound carried too well in that Hotel from neighbouring room.

One never gets perfection if stingy on the Hotel! You get what you pay for, hopefully.

Been in and out of Thailand for 10 years. Stayed at many hotels, Hilton, Four Seasons, Lebua, Centre Points, Banyan Tree, Hansar, Muse, Sheraton, Sukosol, St Regis and Westin.

All very comparable in service and amenities. You do however get a butler at St Regis. Italian restaurant at Muse is great and the whole theme of the hotel is great. Grand Centre points have multiple and good locations. May be the best value when considering room sizes vs total cost. Sheraton has a great pool. Hansar is nice but dull. Sukosol is a great value if you need to stay in that part of Bangkok. Lebua is over rated. The Westin is consistent. Good location, good pricing but the pool isn't the best. Hotel becomes crowded during pool party's.

Hi babies. Tried the search engine unsuccesfully;.

Have booked this hotel for 15 nights, total cost 520 Euro. Cost actually not so important, location more mucho importante. Is it a ok place? Because at evenings it's obviously a gathering place for street girls. Not my target actually, I do my shit outside and sleep alone. Reviews on Expedia seems ok. More worried for the possibility of annoying hassling during entering and exits.

Thanks.

Most of the girls on the street right outside are not girls. Although that's important to know, they do not constitute a problem.

Thanks.Location is good, in some ways. Many ladyboys outside as other guy mentioned. Price is very good. 15 nights is a lot. I would prefer to have a flexible booking so could change my mind at some point, move to a different location, or better Hotel, or go to Pattaya, whatever.

You might want to take girls to your room especially if you use the Thermae to get a girl. Not sure why you have ruled out that possibility. I probably would prefer to stay somewhere quieter in terms of nightlife action outside. Some of use short time Hotels when we cannot take a girl to our room, but that does not seem applicable in this case.

Always good to be flexible till you know what you like. Just my opinion.

Search engine could find Ruamchit, I am sure. OYO108 is not very meaningful.

Hi guys,

This is my tenth hotel that I have stayed in Bangkok and location wise, it is hands down the best for the purpose we are all here for. Although it is a bit expensive but usually offers good deals especially prepaid ones on booking.com and agoda. It is accessible to BTS and MRT and is across the street from Soi Cowboy. It also provides access to Terminal 21 mall which is one of the better shopping places. Also to confirm its 100 percent green. When you bring someone, the security guards discretely and very politely takes your "guest's" ID and gives it back when they are leaving. It is also five minutes walk to Thermae and ten minutes walk to Doki. Definitely worth trying.

Thanks.15 nights here is too much probably. I wouldn't stay here for more than a couple of nights if at all. As has been suggested, maybe consider staying in more than one location for some variety and changed experiences.

It is quite basic, although officially seems to have 3 stars. Location is good, if a bit full-on. I prefer a bit quieter and off the main Sukhumvit street. If cost is not so much of an issue I would look elsewhere. Others will disagree.

4. th visit to BKK, already tried several locations in the city, and I always end up in Nana. Probably caused by my filthy soul. 15 days ok to me, I could stay 15 years. Didn't know about The Thermae, so what I get is actually home delivery, or even better, they are already there! Thanks for all help. I will probably end up over fucking.

Pattaya is not for me. Maybe visit Hua Hin for a couple of days when in serious recovery mode.

Hotel becomes crowded during pool party's.After staying in many hotels in various parts of BKK, I choose this crazy simple small boutique hotel in sukhumvit 24 at the corner IE Ambassador suite with 2 bedrooms on both ends nice separate shower and bath tub and an extremely quiet place. The best part of it is was there was a sauna steam and jacuzzi right in the middle of the living room. So which ever girl I brought back from Any club or dating site or even soi 4 from the road the moment she entered the room her jaw used to drop. Have done crazy stuff in this room you name it I've done it and with girls calling there friends over and what not. Plus right in the front of the hotel was an amazing middle eastern Lebanese restaurant which satisfied my taste buds, Starbucks on the ground floor and then 2 massage parlors and the laundry lady bang opposite. It was a dream staying there on every fuck trip in the last 7 years. On my last trip in 2017 end almost 2 years ago I've not been in BKK now it had started to run down, service went low, prices went suddenly high and the staff at reception became unnecessary rude.

So looking for a crazy place like this, penthouse or loft or any classy hotel top of the line room with in-house pool or jacuzzi. I tried searching online but couldn't find anything.

I hope the BKK veterans would help me choose a new place sooner than soon. It's time to party again.

Cheers.

Trip Advisor booking site allow to search for amenities "Hot Tub". Then you have to read individual hotel details to check if Hot Tub is private or in the spa.

I won't do all the work for you, but it is possible.

Top Romantic hotels in Bangkok also covers having a spa tub.

This is good news!

I am have a trip planned in December. I am also a gold member. Do you know if they automatically upgrade you? Did you have access to the executive lounge?

I know Hilton Suk is strategically located with many MP within a stone throw away. I cannot wait till I get to BKK!

/ Kirsia!

I stayed there in May for 5 nights. I received a discount rate on the room thanks to their internet offer to apply for their Amex Hilton Credit Card right before I was about to book. The main perks for signing up for the CC was getting a whole bunch of Hilton points for a subsequent stay and instant Gold member status. Since the CC has no annual fee I think it is a good deal even if you don't use it very often. Anyway, upon check in Hilton upgraded me to an Honors Floor (no difference in room) and threw in free buffet breakfasts for my stay. I also had Executive Lounge privileges, but I never availed myself of that. As to the Hilton Hotel itself: I thought it was a pretty nice major international chain hotel. The room was a good size and all it's appointments were in very good taste. The buffet breakfasts were very good. The location was fine for me as it is close to the oilies, two high end malls which are convenient for their gourmet grocery store and tasty food courts, and the BTS although I prefer motorcycle taxis unless I am going cross town. The only thing I think the hotel missed on was the size of its roof top pool; its on the small side for a major hotel and I prefer larger pools for more privacy, but the bottom line is I am booked back at the Hilton again for 4 more nights, free, all on Hilton points on my next big trip. So, it turns out that overall the Hilton Suk is a win win for me.

But the Hilton is not the only large international chain hotel that I will be staying at on my next 6 week visit to BKK. The Sukhumvit area has many hotels like the Hilton to choose from of similar quality and in the same price range more or less. I like to change hotels and locations every 6 or 7 days on average to mix things up and to not get too well known in any one place. Harry Haller, the Steppenwolf, is a personal hero of mine. 555.

Long time mongerer but never in Thailand.

I usually use airbnb in Europe and Latin America but I've heard that's not ideal in Thailand?

What are some good recommendations. I checked hotels.com and it looks like there is a ton of options and I can't really tell what's good and what isn't.

Do we need to buy ahead of time or is the price about the same day of?

Do we need to buy ahead of time or is the price about the same day of?We don't know what's good for you and whether 3, 4 or 5 stars. None of us can tell anything much other than by reading reviews, and allowing for personal grumpiness. I generally use booking.com, trip advisor, OYO, Whatif etc. Airbnb has the disadvantage that its possible your private booking is not honoured, based on what I read. That would be very unusual for major booking sites. Some cheap apartments are also listed on major booking sites. I got a great apartment for good price on occasion, but rarely in absolutely ideal location.

So you need to pick a starting location first. Some like to be staying not too far from Nana BTS (skytrain station), I usually prefer Asoke to Phrom Phong BTS stations region. Close to many Massage joints, Soi Cowboy bars, supermarket, skytrain, underground train also, etc.

Its possible prices can go up very close to the date, or rooms can be sold out. I book at least 1 day in advance so I am sure I have accommodation for at least tomorrow. In very old days we used to go from Hotel to Hotel looking for available rooms and checking prices. That was before internet. Ha ha.

Best to not book very far in advance unless your plans are very fixed and stabilised. Most of us want to keep options open, especially, if don't like a Hotel newly tried, to change to another one. Could be as simple as bed was too hard, or room too noisy.

Do we need to buy ahead of time or is the price about the same day of?You will get a lot of advice and seeing what's being said, I think its important that you get good advice. Here is some real advice from someone that stays here for months at a time, not from guys who show up now and then and consider themselves "experts". Post count doesn't make one an expert.

1. AirBnb is generally illegal in Thailand. Many of the condos have warning signs noting its illegal and folks should report it. As the last thing you ever want in Thailand is contact with any authority, AirBnb is a nogo. There are cases where its OK, but personally, I would just stick to a hotel.

2. The main "lowlife" farang mongering areas are found around Asoke, Nana and to a lesser extent Phrom Pong BTS stations as previously mentioned. And, in addition, there is an area near Silom BTS. BY "lowlife" I mean the street hookers and ladyboys wandering around, the general scruffiness of the area and the patrons, the touts, the rip offs, the beggars, the hanger ONS, the drug dealers, etc. And some of the Patrons.

3. Going Eastish on Sukhumvit like you were coming off the airport: Phrom Pong is generally massage parlours and some street hookers. It is very tourist oriented and has fancy malls. It is a less sleazy area than Nana and Asoke. But its very Japanese / Korean oriented so you do need to brush up on your Asian etiquette. Some girls may not speak English in favour of Japanese / Korean (I speak bad Japanese myself). I'm not a massage parlour guy as I prefer my women younger, better looking and cheaper so I rarely go to Phrom Pong. Some guys like massage parlours, read the massage parlour section for info on how it works, but do not pay attention to the stories about this girl being good and this good being bad because probably half is fantasy anyway. And do you want to spend hours trying to track down some girl named Porn because some dude in mommys basement says she is the best she ever had? The hotels are higher priced in this area. The food is spendy too, unless you know where you are going.

4. The BTS stations are about a klick apart. So if you AR at PP BTS, its a klick to Asoke. This is where Terminal 21 mall, Soi Cowboy and the falang / Arab areas start. There are nice hotels in this area, and sleazy ones. This is where Thermae is. Thermae is my hunting ground because I stay here in Bangkok, otherwise its a Asian sausage fest. I had a very pleasing event last night there. Other folks like Cowboy, which I consider a tourist trap. There are a couple of guys that live here (EhTombs or something like that) who know about the Cowboy scene, I myself don't go there unless I have a wierd whim.

5. The walk between Asoke and Nana is worth it. You got BJ bars, Thermae, the Beergarden, street girls, burkhas and finally Nana Plaza. The hotels in that area, absent the big chains, are generally overpriced *hitholes that are popular because they are cheap or "right near the action". Some are short time hotels too, like the Raumchitt and Miami. Some are totally Middle Eastern? Indian, that's up to you. Normally don't stay in that area and when I do, I try to stay in either one of the premium ones or at least on the even number side of the street OFF the main drag. The area is sleazy and disgusting, the street food horrendous and some of the girls frightful. There are some good eats in that area though. Guys will tell you how lovely the street girls are, I can tell you that last night at 10 pm, it was like a kennel club lineup out there. As to the gogos, everyone has their favourite, last night the girls in Anglewitch had more rolls than a deli. That was last night. The scrawny Mamasan in Rainbow whatever is a b. She might be gone tomorrow. #342 left for Roi Et. Etc. I actually bought a lady drink last night for an Instagram beauty.

With that all in mind if you want a specific hotel rec, tell us what you want to spend and how you want to have your fun. Thats all it is. Bangkok isn't a bargain anymore to have adult fun and it hasnt been a real bargain since the Asian invasion. So are you a cheap charlie? Do you need to be hooting and hollering. You know, you can go to the Interconty or the Grand Hyatt and stay in the lap of luxury and walk right downstairs and get you some quality Viet or elegant Thai and never need to see a Burkha or have someone try to sell you a fake Rolex, is that what you want to spend? Are you looking for LT, ST, bjs behind dumpsters, ladyboys, getting smashed in a GoGo bar where you can drop $200 on booze before ya know it? Can't make a rec without knowing that.

I find that Agoda is the best for Asia. I always have the room rate shown in baht and use a baht account (look into Transferwise) to book. In Bangkok itself, I personally won't even look at a hotel less than $100 a night, unless I have stayed in it before (I have stayed in a place down in Ekkamai that's cheap and wondeful). I wouldn't condisider the odd numbered side of Suk between Asoke and Nana except the Westin and Nana. Keep in mind that any hotel you choose in the main tourist areas is just 100 baht ride for you to the sleaze, you can go stay down in Ploenchit, Silom or SaphanTaksin too.

I'm making my first trip to LOS on 11/20 and am staying 4 nights in Bangkok and 4 nights in Pattaya. What I want to spend is $60-$100 a night (for hotel) and I want to have my fun with massages and probably FLs and beer bar girls however, I'm not adverse to other types of fun. I am currently booked in an Executive Suite room at Citrus Suites on Soi 6 at $75 a night and the Adelphi Pattaya for slightly less than that. Since this is my first trip, I would appreciate any and all recommendations. Thanks all!

Do we need to buy ahead of time or is the price about the same day of?Book the Ambassador Hotel on Soi 11 for 3 nights. It is an experience that everyone should try once while in Bkk. The prices are reasonable. Stay in the Tower building, great views of Bkk. The breakfast buffet is complete with food from India and Asia and America.

The service is ok and they change sheets and towels everyday. The pool is very large and saltwater. Exercise facilities are old but they are well maintained.

The reason I suggest this hotel is that it is in the center of the Bkk sex industry area. Easy walk to anywhere and plenty of bars and Discos nearby. Many average restaurants and most important the Nana BTS station close by. The overall types of people that stay in this hotel are anywhere from Europeans to Indians, Africans and many Thai business attending seminars at this hotel.

Then move to a 4 or 5 Star for the remainder of your trip. These 3 nights will let you get acquainted with the area.

RL.

Hopefully have European style stuff for breakfast as well. I am not into American breakfast at all. Indian, I would not know what they have for breakfast. Looked it up and I think not. I hardly ever take a Hotel Breakfast in Thailand any more. Only if was a good Hotel (with large variety) and included in basic price or very reasonably priced. Grand Mercure Soi 19 was example of a small Breakfast room but very good breakfast quality and variety.

Interesting view. I thought no one stayed at the Ambassador any more. Although rated 4 stars, price is low 1. 5 K for a good reason I guess. It looks to be very good value at that price. Any ideas why it has not been popular? Is it noisy?

I have stayed in Ambassor but approx. 1978. I think a lot of redevelopment changes since then

I used to stay at Admiral Premier as a good price and convenient, till they started having a lot of Chinese tours in there causing it to be full a lot. Quite a few Japanese guys stayed there permanently. I don't think it is great value any more.

/ Kirsia.Hi Kirsia.

Ah BKK massage parlors, I still have a couple of favorite bordellos that I return to again and again for better and for worse. 555.

In the soapy category I like Maria Hotel & Spa for their large selection of good-looking girls and La Belle for an occasional real looker, one of their side line girls. I usually receive good to really, really good service, but it depends on the girl and it also depends on what you are looking for. PSE? If by that you mean anal sex, CIM, and / or bareback vaginal sex then fuhgeddaboudit. It is not going to happen or very rarely. If you are talking about an enthusiastic, passionate romp with multiple BBBJ's, b2 b massage, cat licking, DFK, and 69 which is what I mean by really, really good service or GFE with a little naughtiness, then yes, I get that from maybe 60% to 70% of my soapy girls from the 2 places mentioned above and then I tend to repeat with those girls that I am most attracted to.

In the oily category it really is hit or miss; 50/50. I like pretty girls so you won't find me in most or the PSE shops. I used to have a couple of favorite girls in Mango, but they are retired now. About a year and half ago I had a friendly romp with Prae on my 1st afternoon back in town that trip. She is a real nice girl and definitely wants to please, so I can recommend her on that score, but well frankly she is 5 stars in looks at best although a really nice girl and so I never went to see her again. Ha Ha. I have no idea if she does CIM or COF because I am not into that. I like to cum in a vagina and I prefer bareback, put I accept covered if that is what the girl wants or what I want depending on the situation. To be 100% clear on this: Soapy girls almost always require covered vaginal sex. Oily girls are somewhat less rigorous on this. 555.

Another perfect example of my hit or miss oily experiences is that with Club 102 next to Addicts. I went there one afternoon this last spring and picked a nice-looking Isan girl. We hit it off big time in the loom and I enjoyed very passionate bareback sex session with her. I Line texted her about 2 weeks later because I wanted to see her again and she told me she was back in Isan without a paddle or any money, ha ha, would I please send her some money so she could take the bus back to BKK. I told her I would like to, but I was leaving town. About a month later I got a text from her saying she was back in town, but working at another establishment, so it was too late. I was in MNL. Maybe I will see her again in 6 months when I return to BKK. Maybe not. Who knows?

The flip side of this story is I went back to Club 102 on the same afternoon that my Isan girl informed me that she was stuck back home. I selected a girl that reminded me of my country girl, but the session was not nearly as good. It lacked the passion and BTW it was covered. So, that's my point. The oilies are handy for afternoon trysts way before the Go Go's are open for business. Oiles are not too expensive and some of the oily massage girls are attractive, but you take your chances every time you go into one of these bordellos. Sometimes the sessions are great and sometimes they are a little lackluster. I haven't had a bad session ie a starfish session or a covered BJ session in a very long time, but there is a big difference between a girl doing the minimum of what is required by the book vrs really getting it on. I prefer really getting it on! That is why I am primarily a Go Go guy in BKK and even more so in Pattaya. I know how to pick a good girl in the Bar / Go Go setting, so I enjoy myself the vast majority of the times I am punting in this venue plus I really enjoy the hunt. But I still like go to the Soapies and Oilys occasionally when I am in the mood. The soapies I recommended in the beginning of this piece are much more reliable than the oilies in my humble experience, but they cost a lot more money. The bottom line is you should do what YOU like. Everybody is different. Stay thirsty,

NB.

P.S I just noticed where we are. This conversation belongs in the massage thread so I am copying it to there. Bye Bye.

Sad that you express such prejudice to our Japanese brothers, I'm sure it has to do with inadequacy of your wallet or something else.

Seeing some of the falangs that have been in there over the past few years, I can understand why the girls turn farangs down. I mean dude, if you weigh 150 kilos and are sweating like you just come out of the shower, why would you think some 40 kilo teen girl wants your fat old ass bouncing on them, when she can have a shy, polite, non stinky, skinny Asian boy.

You see them leave and back in minutes. Guys with monster members need not apply.I would not put it quite so strongly but basically agree.

1. Girls in there prefer Asians, or if they don't, I don't prefer them. Many girls don't really want to look at me or talk to me. Farang surcharge can apply with attitude. I could choose very carefully for looks, still not know if the body is good or not, and get a lousy service. This is the norm for me. Being slow to decide on a girl may count against me.

2. A lot of girls with low Farang experience, and a lot of dick scared girls.

3. Girls can be looking for a rather quick money making session. The chances of a full on GFE get low. Girls have restrictions and lack skills as well.

4. Maybe an old Farang is not exciting to the modern Thermae girl. Not like the old days of part time hobby hookers. When I was 35 to 40, I used to do well in the Thermae. Long ago. So maybe age matters to these girls a lot.

5. I think you are much better off to spend same money in an MP catering strongly to Farangs (not specialising in Japanese), if you can find a girl with suitable looks. Some MPs have some. Your experience from Doki Doki for example, is going to be vastly superior on average, I reckon. May cost slightly more.

6. Speaking good Thai does not seem to be any help at all. May even be a hindrance.

The conclusion is that while Thermae can be great for some, it can be lousy for others. By all means try it once or 3 times. I have not had a girl worth repeating from there for years, for one reason or another. Some were disaster and some very ordinary or below average. So I choose to stop wasting my time there.

I prefer to look for a superior girl on Soi 4, and sometimes find one with a good attitude, often miss out if no talent available. At least I had 3 different successful repeat girls from there in last year or so (only use it occasionally). So also hit and miss (but less misses). Can get a dick scared girl from almost anywhere with freelancers, or a girl trying for a quickie.

Any girl can be exceptional compared to the average for a place, if you find the right girls. Even a BJ bar could have a hot girl, on occasion. So all types of venues are worth taking a look, more than once. Its years since I looked in Beer Garden, but should try again, just in case I am pleasantly surprised.

When I was young my success rate in Soapies was quite good, although having several repeat girls may have distorted the figures. Chao Praya 2 was an excellent shop too in the old days, with a really good mamas an that could be relied on. Now my success arte in Soapies has dropped away badly. I can remember maybe just one or two really great girls in last few years (I don't count Annies because I regard it as closer to an Oily in overall style). My last major regular was in Amsterdam but she left before it closed.

So I find the success rate in Oilies to be better than in Soapies. Not nearly so many totally dud girls and quite a lot of good experiences in the last few years. I can't put this down to anything much other than Oily MP girls are more likely to like older Farangs, is my guess.

Success rate in bars is probably better than Oily MP girls, but it is much easier to find a pretty girl with a hot body, and interview process can help to determine attitudes. Of course a kiss and grope in the bar goes a long way to showing girl has attitude to make it good.

So in modern day, Soapies gives my worst success rate. Affected by trying not to pick girls with excessive surgeries. Picking the right Soapy venue maybe critical. La Belle is very definitely not a successful venue for me. Even my favourite from yesteryear Jip became more difficult, more dick scared, and eventually wrecked her nose with surgery (no longer so pretty). My favourite from Utopia also deteriorated in attitude over the years. Perhaps due to a BF or husband.

I am sure the girls would say I deteriorated as well.

For non asians its like being the invisible man at the thermae these days as the jap guys have spoilt them with 5000 for a quick time and they prefer small minute dicks. You see them leave and back in minutes. Guys with monster members need not apply. That's actually twice the cost of a quicky in Western Europe. With a tall, blonde, blue eyes, salmon pink nipples and pussy lips. Must be the japs revenge because they lost the war. Also in Germany they introduced the condom law approximately 100 years after the First war. I should probably interview them to find the source of suppressed aggression LOL.

First of all thanks to Nyezhov for the full layout. Very helpful. As he says specifics will help you help me!

Looking for a nice hotel maybe equidistant from cowboy and nana since I don't know where we will play yet — will try Thermae also. Looking to spend about $100/ night but somewhat flexible. I am with a buddy so having a two bedroom suite and $200 ish a night would work good too. We won't actually stay here — it's just for girl activities.

I will of course search Agoda but you guys have the firsthand knowledge. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Not stayed there yet, but Ruamchitt Plaza Hotel is located in the same building as Thermae, or opposite. Cheap, centrally located between Asok and Nana BTS. ICheckInn Nana in soi 7. 1 very nice, clean and girl friendly. But no pool. Third suggestion: Travellodge in Soi 11 is great great value for money.

Anyone have any experience? All hotels in the area photograph well and then when you get there, the worm guy is flopping his way across the sidewalk in front of your hotel, and two yobs in singlets are fighting over a ladyboy in the lobby. Remember that in Thailand, the cheaper rooms go to the lower echelon of humanity.

Anyone have any experience? These both look like new Hotels (refurbished buildings). This can make the prices extra good value. Never heard of them before, but location is good in my opinion, even if Soi 19 is a busy street for MPs. Not ffar from BTS and MRT.

"Sib Kai" looked wrong (name does not make sense). It is actually "Sib Kao", Thai for number 19, although I would spell it "Sip GAOW" (to pronounce better). Seems a little silly to give a Hotel a Thai name. Ha ha. Not the first time. Ruamchitt should actually be pronounced more like Ruam-jit ( ร่วมจิต ) which means shared thoughts, or participating minds.

They can spell them how they like since Thai does not respell in English very well.

Looking to spend about $100 per night but somewhat flexible. I am with a buddy so having a two-bedroom suite at $200-ish a night would work good too. We won't actually stay here it's just for girls.Check out the Shama Suites. The main entrance is on the east side of Soi 2, just a few steps from Sukhumvit. (Next door to the J. W. Marriott.) But the Shama also has a back door that connects to west side of Soi 4, next door to Fitzgerald's Pub (formerly Hanrahan's Pub) across the street from Hilary 2. Absolutely ideal for guys pulling from Nana Plaza and Thermae. A bit farther from Soi Cowboy, but IMHO that place has degenerated into a tourist trap.

The Shama Suites offers serviced apartments, all with a kitchen, washing machine and separate bedrooms. Most are one bedroom, but they offer a two bedroom layout as well.

https://www.shama.com/sukhumvit/accommodation/two-bedroom

There is a rooftop pool, which offers some nice views, and a breakfast buffet, which is unremarkable. It's a quiet place popular with families, many of whom appear to come from the Gulf States. But still friendly to gents who might have some temporary company in tow.

I preferred Soi Cowboy over Nana for many years. There were some specific reasons (which may not apply any more). It was once a LB free zone.

Once it did not have Coyotes. It still has nude dancing in some bars.

Labelling it a tourist trap seems strange (emotive), as little different to Nana Plaza other than the "Arab's Bars" which can be avoided. I have read bad stories about those and similarly bad stories about LB bars in Nana. There are still a lot less ladyboy bars in Cowboy and they are not as dangerous for getting ripped off, I would think (heard no reports).

For some us, there are not many good bars on Nana Plaza. Billboard is fine (too dark), and then. ? I find cowboy bars a lot more relaxing, and probably only 1 bar very Japanese dominated. I used to frequent Mercury in Nana, when I had a regular there who moved from Dollhouse, now Mercury is a LB bar. Are there many good bars? I have tried a few, and not generally drawn to come back.

All these bar areas are declining. Nana Plaza was great 20+ years ago. I used to be regular at Lollipop, Pretty Girl, and Voodoo. However I quickly moved back to Cowboy once I realised that they had nude dancing there, where nude dancing in Nana Plaza had been stopped. Too many over dressed girls always spoils it for me, and I especially hate when we can't tell if a girl has good tits or almost none, or saggy or what.

Its better to tug outside the thermae in the am when you can still tug a nice young bird who is not so obsessed with Jap guys and will agree to less than 5000 for a deal. Some don't like it inside because its too clicky for them. But beware the small ladyboys amongst the crowds outside.

I have never been quoted 5 K in Thermae, never in 30 years of going there. I pay 1000-2000ST, 2000-3000 LT and it takes a screamingly perfect specimen to get me to spring for LT.

Here is what I have found, I have not stayed at these places as I always stayed at Grand President for 2 bedroom suites. GP is in disrepair and I don't stay there now. These hotels are well located.

Column Bangkok on Soi 16 has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths. Grand Sukhumvit Soi 6 has 2 bedroom suites. Marriott Mayfair near Thong Lo has 2 bedrooms. Davis Soi 24 has 2 bedrooms. On8 at Nana BTS and Sheraton 4 Points on Soi 15 have connecting rooms. Connecting rooms is the next best thing to 2 bedroom suites. One caveat: Try to ensure that both rooms have large beds. In many case there will be a King in one room and 2 twins in the other room.

Hopefully another member here can add more info or better suggestions.

A deal is 2 hours for 1200 baht or at most ST for 3000 if she is at least an 8. One good thing about Thermae is there is no insane bar fine and LD's at 250 thb each.

I guess that it is not only the Japanese or Asians that are over paying, but many Farangs that think that 5000 thb is a deal. Bkk is not Iowa ToTo. There are so many good looking girls in Bkk that it makes your head swim. Tell the little girl in 7/11 that you will give her 1000 thb to meet you after her shift and come to your room. She makes 300 Thb a day on her job. So 1000 thb looks like heaven to her. I've been lucky to have scored 50% of the time when I make that offer. It happens.

All of the 7-11 chicks that I have seen are skanks (well here in Pattaya at least). That is why they work for 300 baht per day. In fact I have a lot of problems determining if the 7-11 worker is male or female most of the time. I think there are a lot of dykes working there.

Seeing some of the falangs that have been in there over the past few years, I can understand why the girls turn farangs down. I mean dude, if you weigh 150 kilos and are sweating like you just come out of the shower, why would you think some 40 kilo teen girl wants your fat old ass bouncing on them, when she can have a shy, polite, non stinky, skinny Asian boy .

For someone complaining about people making assumptions, you sure seem to do a lot of your own.

I weight 165 lb, work out, speak Thai fairly well and don't smoke. I used to pull Thermae women frequently but years ago. The scene for me has changed as well. Clusters of women not even indicating they are interested. I'd rather go to a bar, street or MP than Thermae. I may pull a mamasan to the side and see if that approach works better but with so many venues it's not my thing.

I came to Thailand for the first time in the mid 1980's. It's definitely changed a lot and Thermae with it.

There are a number of good possibilities for two bedroom suites. Prices vary tremendously depending on availability and time of year, but you should take a look at:

Fraser Suites Hotel on Soi 11 - about an 8 minute walk to Sukhumvit, but late at night Soi 11 comes to life and is well worth checking out in its own right with many nightclubs, restaurants, and SW's.

Centre Point Hotel on Soi 10 - about a 6 minute walk to Sukhumvit then very close to Thermae and the rest.

A little further afield.

Marriott Exec Apt Sukhumvit Park - 1 train stop past Cowboy on Soi 24, but very close to oily massage central (Soi 24).

Grande Centre Point Ratchadamri - closer to Patpong than anywhere else, but a very nice hotel. Natty likes Patpong. 555.

Out of all of the above and taking into consideration that this is your first trip to BKK and you probably want to be right in the middle of all the action, your best bet from the list above is probably the Fraser provided you can get a good rate. I have stayed at all these hotels. They are all super girl friendly. You can party away with as many girls in your room or down by the pool as you like.

One very tall girl on corner of Soi 33 I think, I was not sure.

I am not sure how Robert approaches them though since they might be very shy about co workers hearing what is going on. Perhaps just slip them the contact details and talk later.

In the old days, girls in regular low paid jobs, just showed up at the Thermae (or the Grace coffee shop) after work, which usually really got going at 1 am or 2 am, when other things were closing.

Most 7 Eleven staff speak to me in Thai, even I have may not spoken a word of Thai to them. How would they know if I can understand? Perhaps they do not speak English. Is this normal for other guys?

Is this normal for other guys?Yeah, most don't seem to speak much English. Certainly a lot less than all of the hookers I speak with. I went into one the other day and ordered a Thai Milk tea drink from the All Cafe there, and the young guy didn't have a clue what I was saying nor his workmates. I then had to point to what I wanted on the menu.

When I buy my 15 baht rice there I have a lot of problems getting them to understand that I only want them to microwave it for 30 seconds as their default is 45 seconds which tends to melt the plastic container.

I loved those old days. I once stayed a week at the Grace Hotel in the early nineties. The place had its own fishbowl soapie, bowling alley and that infamous coffee shop. As a young monger from White Man Land, I could not quite believe what I was seeing. Thermae was filled with the most hideous creatures imaginable. However don't expect Thais to be customer focussed and be able to follow instructions. There is a big tendency for Thais to just do what they do automatically with brain disengaged. Its like trying to teach a girl to go slower in a BBBJ and stop rubbing with the hand. Some of them just cannot change.

Why not just play and stay at Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit? It is about in the middle location wise, has very nice gym, roof top bar, and a pool area. I always got the side that overlook Sukhumvit. It's new with floor to ceiling windows that you can have sex with a great view. You can get house keeping to change sheets when you want to and all the towels you need.

If you are wealthy then fine. However, it all sounds a bit strange if you are not going to stay there and only there for 1 hour per night. Are you thinking to impress these hookers with fancy accommodation? No I think not.

You have option to go to a massage shop and do the girl in house. No hotel needed. E. g. Doki Doki.

Most gogo bars have nearby ST (short time) Hotels for 300 baht per hour. On a non busy night I get to go over time at Asoke Place.

Some ST Hotels near Nana have a pricing option for 90 minutes or 2 hours.

I don't quite understand the need for fancy accommodation if you won't stay there and have a hooker for a very limited time. If you want to party a bit, with more than two persons in a room, ST Hotels can accommodate you. The advantage is you just take a room when you need it.

The big advantage of ST Hotel is it is in easy walk distance from the bar. Girls know where they are. Soi 7/1 has a ST Hotel too. Sounds like your time available for mongering is short. BJ bars can be suited to guys wanting a very quick experience, with limited time available. I usually wanted to fuck the girl as well (onsite room).

Thanks for the breakdown, besides Asoke Place, are there any other ST hotels nearby Soi Cowboy? (Asoke Place online reviews usually say that it is on the low end, I would prefer a room that is a bit on the nicer side and a big bonus if they have mirrors.).

I don't know if I'm wealthy but I generally budget $2000-3000 a week when I do a girl binge and Thailand is super cost effective so I consider the room just a part of the budget. I really like the whole "take out" experience where you go back to the hotel and maybe even do some doggie at the window with a view. LOL. So I think I will do one of the Soi 11 hotels.

Thanks everyone for the advice! You guys are the best.

Hey guys,

Looking to interrupt my Phnom Penh Cambodia trip with a quick 2 night jaunt into Bangkok. I love the Nana area and was thinking the Nana hotel for convenience and location. I understand a few updates have taken place but if it's still a stinkhole, I will need something else. I just need simple, clean, and a decent bed. Talk me into enduring it for 2 nights or please suggest a similar place for $50-$70 for a Wednesday and Thursday night. Thanks in advance!

Can't vouch personally but the Grand Sukhumvit and the Dynasty Grande are both at the high end of that but look super nice and right by Nana.Grand Sukhumvit is reported as not joiner friendly.

Dynasty Grande was OK last I stayed (3 years ago) but was getting to the "in need of a refurb / refresh" and their rates got to be uncompetitive.

Other options:- Citrus Suites (pretty new) or Phachara Suites on Soi 6, both good and joiner friendly but maybe above your budget depending on travel dates.

SM Grande Residence on Soi 4 just down from the Soi 6 turning had ok serviced apartments, although slightly aging. Far better value than Omni Tower further down.

Ibis (between The Dawin and Omni Tower) rates seem to have dropped a little. I guess the newish Novotel and Ibis Styles (same group, Accor) may have cannibalized some of their trade. Plus point, it's an Ibis so you'll know exactly what to expect. Negative point, it's an Ibis!

Lohas Residence should be avoided. Used to be very good but has now become the "go to" for our Middle Eastern friends when they want to behave in a fashion which would not be tolerated around Sois 3 - 5. Management couldn't care less.

I prefer Asoke Place for subtle reasons. Did not notice mirrors. Soi 4 and Soi 7/1 Aspira have ST rooms, as does Ruamchit Hotel at times. I really down know much about mirrors.

Yes Asoke Place is low end. It has a bed, aircon, bathroom, toilet. As long as I am not stabbed by bedsprings poking through, or a very smelly drain, I am okay I have seen absolutely foul ST Hotel rooms in the past elsewhere. There are probably higher class rooms elsewhere. Maybe PB Hotel (sub soi off soi 3) is a good one to try and ask for mirrors.

You can't meet all your requirements for standard and nearness and still be ST prices. If too fussy, take a normal Hotel.

Hi guys,

I usually stay at the Pullman Asoke and go to Soi Cowboy but this trip have a one nighter and meeting friends so first going to Hooters Siloam then Nana Plaza for girlie bars. Is Crowne Plaza Lumpini cool if I turn up at 4 am with 2/3 girls or any recommendations within walking of Nana. Looking 4 Or 5 star. Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

Is the restaurant The Old Dutch and is on soi Cowboy? Does the ST hotel has a name?Old Dutch is gone and replaced by Kazy Kozy, so its not that. It was not really opposite Bacarra anyway. I guess there is a small restaurant after Cock'a'too bar, that is hardly noticed. Google suggests a name Spritz, but I don't know if that is correct now or not. Forgot to have a look last night as was a bit drunk.

The reason they like it is the access from Soi 4 without having to pass reception. 3 or 4 will stay at The Grace or similar with their wives and families and book 1 room at Lohas building 2 or 3 for a boys party. They will then hoover up a (what is the correct collective noun?) bunch of LB's for a gang bang, with the emphasis on bang.

There is a Google review from about a year ago from some guy who endured this. He was lucky, security didn't open the door. My experience was far more graphic and unpleasant. Like him I found management to be blasse about the issue, and staff saying it happens repeatedly.

Thanks for that.

Avoid Building 2 and 3 for sure then. I stayed in Building 1 where accessing to the elevators you are more likely to encounter staff but not actually passing reception either so YMMV.

Perhaps a 'bitchiness of LBs' as a collective noun.

Looks good! Has anyone tried the X-it hotel? This one looks really really nice.Definitely get out Google maps before you make any decisions. X-IT would be a horrible fail in this regard. A full half hour plus by cab from the Nana Thermae etc area. You really should pick location first. If you are willing to pay $80/ night (not much more than X-IT) you can have your pick of nice hotels in the thick of it. Both the Mercure Sukhumvit 11 and the Novotel Sukhumvit 4 are brand names in this price range. And even more choice and less $$ if you want to go local.

And of course u can pay a lot less if u just want somewhere moderate to do the deed. Point is — location first, hotel second.

You really should pick location first..Spot on. That is way out in Lat Phrao area renowned for horrible traffic jams, and nearly as far as Fashion Island (Raam Inthra). Highly inconvenient to be that far out and its even well beyond the Pimp Club mentioned recently. I have visited Fashion Island before as used to know a Thai girl that lived up that way. Actually I still know her (platonic) and was her mother's house way up there.

Suitable location matters a lot and should be somewhere easy for taxis for when you need to go to the airport too. I generally stay beyond Soi 21 but not too far past. Others prefer close to Nana, but I really don't go to Nana bars much. Can't say there are any bars I really like at Nana a lot. So I am like closer to others things including the best MP areas, the BTS and the MRT, Villa Markt, my favourite Sports Pub, etc. At night I could get a taxi to Pat Pong in just 15 minutes. Coming in from Lat Prao though is pretty much a nightmare, perhaps tolerable on the MRT, if queues to get on are not long (could be in the peak).

http://www.pimppost.com/best-love-hotel-in-bangkok/We can mostly ignore this except for guys using the Pimp Club. Some of these Hotels maybe near that club (or not so near). Married rich Thai guys of course, can't take the girl home, so they need a Hotel.

Drive in ST Hotels with curtains to hide the guests getting out of the car, often feature in Thai Soapy TV series mostly concerning very wealthy Thai men. Usually in the Soapy story, the girl gets a shock to find she is being driven to a ST Hotel. She had not yet decided she wanted to fuck the guy, most likely. This is regarding non-hooker girls being taken there. Perhaps she was hoping the guy was going to propose (or quit his wife if married) but then finds out that perhaps no, he just wants to fuck her only, so her path to his riches is not looking the best. Some soapies portray it like a rape or forced liaison with the ST Hotel not trying to stop it in the slightest. So even Thai kids watching soapy TV, will know all about ST Hotels, and what it means when the car parking area has curtains. LOL

Years ago I used to watch a lot of Thai soapies only to improve my Thai language skills for listening to normal Thai conversation, since they are pretty childish and boring for the most part. Some of the comedy ones can be better if we get a laugh. Others can be really quite nasty. I gave up Thai soapies long ago. Takes to much time. Scandinavian soapies are much higher quality.

Getting back to ST Hotels, the PB (Playboy) Hotel would be the most well known one in the Sukhumvit area. The Strand is one at Pat Pong. There are lots of little ones near the gogo bar areas. Ruamchit for the Thermae.

Beware that many ST Hotels that are very cheap can also have very poor standard rooms, possibly with very stinky plumbing (one experience of mine).

Hey, if you want to be in the suburbs then give X-it Resort a try by all means. The location has its perks. It is sort of close to Fruity Spa Kapoo Club & Spa and Maiake G-Club, for example, plus there are a number of really good Thai restaurants up that way. You will definitely get a different view of BKK by staying there.

But I too prefer to stay closer in. It is more convenient. I might hit Nana 150 x over the number of times I visit Fruity or Maiake per trip or trips. But I have given up on staying on Soi 11 and lower down due to the changing demographics. Is that politically incorrect? Too bad, it's the truth. I don't like a vast majority of those people and they don't like me. But I still like the hotels from the Sofitel (Soi 13) upward. I even enjoy going as far up as the Marriott Soi 57 Exec Apartment Hotel. Thoglor / Ekkamai has a good mix of restaurants, bar bars and clubs plus it is only 2 stops away on the BTS from Cowboy. Unfortunately, Marriott has raised the price on this hotel and I refuse to go along with the $15/ night increase, cheap bastard that I am, so for the last 2 trips I have booked the Marriott Park Exec Apartment Hotel on Soi 24 instead. I like Soi 24. It is quiet, but not too quiet and fairly convenient if you don't mind motorcycle taxis plus you got all the oilies at your disposal plus the small bars on Soi 22 for late, late night shenanigans.

I also like to stay over in the Chit Lom area for a few nights early in a trip when I am into going to Patpong. It is very quiet around Chit Lom after midnight except for the 5-star hotel FL bars like Mixx, Spasso & the corner 24 hour McDonalds, ha ha, but it is only a 7 to 10 minute taxi ride from there to Patpong after the trains have stopped running so I like it, but again, only for a few nights per trip.

Other Locations:

Chao Phraya River is a great location for 1st time BKK'ers interested in cultural shit or if you are bringing your own girl to BKK and maybe you don't want her to see what is going on in the red-light district. Ha Ha. There are some outstanding hotels along the river and priced accordingly. There are also a couple of discos or clubs nearby so it is possible to pick up some FL girls if you want and of course Patpong is only 10 or 15 minutes away. It is, however, a very different trip if you stay over here.

Khao San Road is where backpackers and other frugal and cultural visitors like to stay. I have never been there at night, but I hear there are SW's out and about, duh, after all this is BKK. I would love to hear some reports on this, but I am not going to hold my breath waiting.

Ratchadaphisek Road: I only mention this area as an alternative to the X-it Resort location. The area of Ratchadaphisek that I am thinking of is close to Huai Khwang. When the Lord was still open for business, I seriously thought of staying here for a few nights at the Swissotel across the street. I mean how bad could it be? And it is location location for many of the Soapies. Mini has an apartment nearby in back of the Cultural Center so that would be another incentive, but since the Lord is no more, I doubt I will ever book the Swissotel. It is just easier and more convenient to stay on or near Sukhumvit and to take a taxi or the MRT to Maria Hotel and Spa when I get the urge or when I want to visit Mini at her apartment.

Thanks!Would help a lot if you state how long you might be in Bangkok, major purposes, and hotel price range, any special requirements. So you want a good answer, it is better to put more effort into the question.

Even X-IT has a price range of 2000 Baht to 5000 Baht per night. We don't know if you considered a Jacuzzi to be essential. Most Hotels won't have it.

I would suggest a Hotel close to Sukumvit road, and not far from both BTS line (skytrain) and MRT (underground). Some possibles: On8, Dream Hotel, Silq, Grand Mercure Asoke Residence, Arize, Sakura Sky (if low budget), Lotus, S31, Mermaid, Dynasty Grand, Majestic Suites, Pullman Grand, Fx Asoke. Lots of others.

More Expensive: Column, Radison Blu, Sheraton, Marriott.

Choice depends on requirements and how much you want to spend. Book online a small number of nights, in case you want to move elsewhere, before long, or go to Pattaya.

Time of year, local events and holidays can also have a huge impact on the availability of rooms, and their price. My last visit I tried to get into the JW Marriott, but something was going down, and the few available rooms were 6 x the usual price. I ended up at the Marriott Mayfair Executive Apartment, which was great. With my points they put me on the upper levels and gave me a 2 bed / 2 bath apartment, which was of no real use - 555. The Mayfair was great, but not particularly convenient, and taxi drivers had a tough time, and needed assistance finding it.

As long as you aren't too far off the beaten path, you'll be OK. But definitely shoot to be close to a BTS sky train.

So BTE has landed. Here is a first report on my trip, about getting from the Suvarnabhumi airport to your hotel. I've developed a rather efficient process IMHO. The times mentioned are mine for today, at about midday. Of course, time of day will highly impact anything here. Sorry it is rather detailed (just my style), but you can always skip the part when I'm going to the toilet.

Landing +0 minutes: waiting at the gate. After our plane arrived exactly on time and docked at the gate, we had to wait 25 minutes before the doors were opened. This is the first time I experience this in Bangkok (I think normally the airport is quite efficient), and it may well be the case that for you this problem does not come up. But anyway good to factor in the possibility that this may happen. Total time spent: 25 minutes.

Landing +25 minutes: walking to immigration. This time we were parked quite far from immigration, so we had to take a walk. I don't go to the toilet here, but I try to hurry a little bit more than the other passengers. That way, I get to the front of the line at immigration. Well at least for this airplane. Plus I like to stretch the legs a little after a long haul. Total time spent: 10 minutes.

Landing +35 minutes: immigration. At immigration foreigners need to go left, Thai can go right. Thai have almost no line at immigration, but the line for foreigners can be huge. And if you did not fill out the white / blue visa form correctly, then you may get sent back to do it again (and stand in line again). This time I had the disadvantage of a slow officer, so it took some time for me. Nowadays they are taking fingerprints and a photo, but typically they don't ask any questions. Total time spent: 15 minutes.

Landing +50 minutes: toilet and luggage. Directly after immigration, I go to a toilet first before waiting for my bag. One of the things for me to do there, is to take off any sweater or extra shirt, so that I'm dressed for Thai temperatures. Having too much clothes in Thailand can be very annoying (so I keep telling the girls as well). After toilet I go to the baggage belt and pick up my luggage. This time all luggage was already on the belt, as we had spent so much time waiting in the airplane. Normally, the wait is not long either. Indeed an efficient airport! Total time spent: 5 minutes.

Landing +55 minutes: customs, money and sim. After getting your luggage, it is straightforward to go through the green lane at customs ('nothing to declare' I've never had anyone checking my luggage, fingers crossed for the annoyance it would cause. After customs you get in the arrival hall, which can be overwhelming for first time visitors. At times it is very busy with many people selling limousine services, sim cards, etc. Just walk through and head straight for the lowest floor (I believe it is called floor be for basement). Following the directions for the airport hotel, you come across various booths for money exchange and sim cards. I always go here, for the better rates, instead of going for the first booths that you see in the arrival hall or even at the baggage belts. The rates are different, just compare for yourself. Here I always look around for the best exchange rate available, though often many rates are similar here in the basement. Some people claim that https://www.superrichthailand.com/#en has always the best rates, but I did not find proof of that.

After the money exchange, I get a sim. This time from AIS, but I actually don't care about the network if the trip is only short. I never had any problem with sim cards anyway. Pick your plan and give the phone + passport. They will put in the sim for you and change sim settings to English (otherwise you get text messages in Thai, with statements on the amount of value left on the sim). Make sure you get any sim back that was in your phone before. I made a mistake once (my fault entirely) and lost my own sim card from home. Not very handy!

Had a nice flirt with one of the ladies at the AIS booth, she was lovely. Smile and be kind in the LOS, and the people will return the favor tenfold! I did not ask for her number, with too many of her colleagues around and also other plans. But hey, I guess she has my number! LOL Total time spent: 10 minutes.

Landing +65 minutes: airport link. Also in the airport basement, close to the money and sim booths, there are the vending machines for the airport link. Max cost is 45 baht to the other end of the line (Phaya Thai), which I think is very cheap. You get a plastic coin from the vending machine, which is your ticket. Use it to pass the gates and go one level down for the train. At midday the train was not too crowded, could sit easily though some people were standing.

Why go with the airport link and not with a taxi? Because it is clean, airconditioned, faster, cheaper, and there's more to see LOL Disadvantage is obviously that you're not being brought to the doorstep of your hotel. I don't buy the argument that the airport link is very full at rush hour, after all at this exact same time taxis are very likely to be in a traffic jam. And then I would rather be in a cool train with a predictable schedule than in a hot taxi in a traffic jam that will never end.

Now I prefer to get off the train at the end station, Phaya Thai, but this may depend on the location of your hotel. At Phaya Thai you can switch trains to the BTS, which is easy enough also with luggage. The BTS is bringing you to stations like Siam, Nana, Asok, Phrom Phong, and further along Sukhumvit. The alternative to getting off at Phaya Thai, is an Airport Link station called Makkasan. Here you can change to the MRT, though the walking is more difficult between those lines. The MRT will bring you to Asok (close to Soi Cowboy and Terminal 21), but doesn't go to other top mongering places.

This time I'm staying close to Siam, so I got off at Phaya Thai and took the BTS. Total time spent: 30 minutes.

Landing +95 minutes: walk to the hotel. So from Siam BTS station I took quite a detour, my fault. So the walking took longer than necessary. When I make hotel reservations, I look closely at the location of the hotel compared to any BTS. If it is just easy to get around, then it saves a lot of hassle and tired feet. Even more so important if you plan to walk with your luggage, because the sidewalks in BKK are terrible. What I like about Siam is that there are several shopping malls connected to each other. So you can walk in airconditioning to your hotel, if you prefer. Total time spent: 15 minutes.

So all in all about 1 hour and 50 minutes from landing to hotel lobby. Not bad, I think, if you consider that there were some unnecessary delays as well. Minimum with these steps would be about 1 hour and 10 minutes if everything goes very very smooth.

Thanks BTE. You're a prince! As an infrequent visitor to BKK I'm always trying to remember upon landing the best way into the city. Let me see, do I go downstairs for the train to Phaya Thai? Where do I get my SIM? Etc. You've made my life easy. Now I'll just have your report on my phone and I won't have to depend on my failing memory. Cheers, mate!

The MRT will bring you to Asok (close to Soi Cowboy and Terminal 21), but doesn't go to other top mongering places.
I have not taken the Airport link but considering it. Why is taking your luggage not difficult? I guess you don't have large amounts of luggage. Even so Thai footpaths are extremely uneven with ditches holes and puddles (when raining). I have dragged a suitcase a moderate distance but it is a nuisance, and huge nuisance on stairs (escalators tolerable). Not every BTS station allows you to avoid stairs. My luggage has a fair weight. If weather is very hot then your change overs between Link, BTS, and taxi to Hotel are going to be very hot and a nuisance. A single Taxi will not be. Have not noticed the "Hot Taxi" syndrome. Some taxis have aircon too cold for me. I am always getting a taxi from Departures level where another customer just got out of the taxi. The taxi is never hot in this circumstance.

If I arrive on a Sunday or late at night, I think taking a taxi is going to be much easier with low traffic, and quicker with lack of changeovers. Seems like Link is a good option for when there might be traffic jams and when your luggage is maybe just one suitcase and dragable, not too far. As I tend to live out of suitcase for long periods, my luggage maybe more than others, including coffee making supplies.

Only when I try it will I really know. I do hate traffic jams.

I have not taken the Airport link but considering it. Only when I try it will I really know. I do hate traffic jams.It really is convenient. Depending on your luggage size it's a great, clean and cheap way for me to get to Sukhumvit from Suvarnabhumi. I did attempt it once with with two suitcases and a backpack and it was really awkward. I take a medium size suitcase these days and find it a breeze. My last taxi from Suvarnabhumi to Sukhumvit took nearly 2.5 hours on a Thursday afternoon at about 3 PM. If I have to do the Taxi route again it will be before 2 PM or after 9 PM. Arriving at Don Muang one needs to get a bus to the MRT station and I would not recommend taking luggage on the bus. Backpack will be ok.

Only when I try it will I really know. I do hate traffic jams.True and agree. And even then YMMV and different occasions will give different results.

Most important is the location of your hotel. Doing the sidewalks with heavy bags is indeed not a good idea. So if that's required to reach your hotel, then I would advise against. I choose the hotel to be as close as possible to a bts station, also for the ease during the rest of my stay. After all, I typically walk from hotel to bts (or vice versa) 4 or 6 times every day.

Now this time I came only with a 23 kg suitcase and a 12 kg handbag, typically know where I am going, don't mind walking and prefer Phaya Thai as change over (as opposed to Makkasan, due to the ease of walking). Well, this worked for me this time. Enough disclaimers here now for guys to make up their own minds.

Would help a lot if you state how long you might be in Bangkok, major purposes, and hotel price range, any special requirements.

Thanks for the tips! Well for my first time it would be a 2 week stay in Bangkok, Maybe my next trip when I get used to Thailand I might venture out to Pattaya, main goal is mongering of course! Want to be closest to the action as possible, somewhere I can't get lost easily, it will be a solo trip, so I will be treating myself for this one, so a very good hotel will do, I just checked the JW Marriott hotel you suggested and it looks fantastic! This one should be great, is it close to the action? (girls etc) thanks for your help!

I am planning to be in Bangkok for mongering next month for a week, planning to stay at holidayinn at Phloenchit. Do they have an inhouse spa? Would they have restrictions with escorts coming in?

Most inhouse spa rates mentioned online for a 60 min massage starts from 2500+baht, is that normal? I plan to visit doki doki, thermae and other popular ones but just enquiring about inhouse spas.

Hello friends,

I shall visit BKK for the first time soon and may stay 1-2 nights there. During day time, I would like to see around the city and from evening onward, I plan to have some adult fun! I don't have much idea as of now regarding the hotel rates. I hope to get a comfortable hotel at 40-60 USD. Please suggest if this is reasonable. Can you please suggest some girl friendly hotels, where I can come with different girls for short time / over night fun?

Both at the top end of your price range. Reasonable for that area of BKK.

End of soi 11 is BTS nana, so you can get around the city. Soi 4 has nana plaza and arguably the street with the most concentrated nightlife. I'm currently staying on soi 11 right now and before you book email the hotel to make sure they provide free tuk tuk to end of road. Its not a long walk, but it's hot as hell here still and reducing the walking keeps you from sweating like a pig before you go out.

This is not the hottest part of the year by a long stretch.

I think a 200 metres walk is quite okay But save 10 minute walks for after sun goes down.

A Hotel Spa for massage etc. Will have charges, or may have one complimentary massage, I wouldn't know. So you just go with your girl and quote the room number if necessary. Don't need to say anything about the girl, I guess. Just pay.

Why take an escort to a Spa? I don't know if both of you can massaged in same room. Seems like wasting your booking time.

I took a regular girl to a massage shop near my Hotel. Masseuse was available for each of us a slightly different timings. Ha ha. Were in separate rooms, or separate cubicles. This was different in that I was not paying for the girl's time. Only for her massage. So just doing it to keep her happy. She was staying the night, so time was not of the essence at that moment.

Just because you don't mind sweating and going into a bar, doesn't mean the rest of us like it. Many people like myself are not coming from humid climates, so the increase in humidity (even at 85 degrees) makes most humans sweat. My point was, unless you're sitting on Suhkumvit road near a bts, why not take advantage of a free tuk tuk. There are no bonus points in BKK for walking in the heat. Only true warriors like yourself who apparently do not sweat in this temperature.

Especially when we had cloud cover blocking direct rays of the Sun. But these last 2-3 days have been much hotter. Blue skies, few clouds, but with that comes more heat.

I am pretty well acclimated to the generally higher temperatures here too after 7+ years living here. But it has been hotter than most Novembers in memory during just the past 2-3 days, with the possible exception of last November.

Mr. Pedantic here. If you come from Stockholm, it would be very different. I have trouble to tolerate stockholm cold and dry air in winter. A lot of people complain about the humidity but I guess I got used to it, and my sinuses prefer some humidity.

I agree it is crazy to walk too far in very hot weather. Not that keen on Tuk Tuks but yes they have a function. I don't like to stay deep down any Sois. It is a nuisance, but can take many motorcycle rides. In the province, if clean air, being caught in the rain or working outside in the rain can be much more pleasant than being hit by sunlight. I don't last long working in the garden, once direct sun is hitting me in the middle of the day, even with head protection. So not immune to sweating. Ha ha. The Thais do better than me, but prefer to work outside at 5 am or 5 pm. You are more likely to get sick after being drenched in Bangkok than in the province. I can't say why for sure, but assume dirty rain and more contact with viruses. Originally I laughed at Thais suggesting the Bangkok rain would make you sick.

Looking at Bangkok weather history for last few days, most days had a top temp of around 34 C and humidity of about 50% (according to a web site. I wasn't present). Temp usually drops a bit by 6 PM. That does not seem too bad to me. Just not perfect. Nothing unexpected for regulars here. In my own country I have experienced 43 C "oven like" heat on occasions when wind has passed over hot heated land for long distances. Like ET says, November ought to be cooler, but we have Global warming. One year we had a coll spell directly after Songkran which was a shock.

December "should" be the coolest month of the year, with plenty of days around 25 see top.

I do appreciate if it is a really clear day, standing in direct sunlight can actually give a slight pain. Normally Bangkok is less hard to tolerate sunhine than the province due to smog.

My hottest time I can remember in Bangkok was late Feb to early March, in about 1991 when I was new to Thailand and actively doing a lot during the day outside. I think after a lot of time we get used to Bangkok. Some Thais away from Thailand for years, cannot cope with Thailand any longer, or at least complain bitterly.

Finally, if we arrive at Doki Doki MP Soi 31 after a walk and are a bit sweaty, then remember the girl will be showering you straight away anyway. However only walk sensible short distances in the middle of the day.

My point was, unless you're sitting on Sukhumvit road near a bts, why not take advantage of a free tuk tuk. Of course you can take advantage of the courtesy tuk tuk your hotel provides. I do so all the time when they are available and when they coincide with the time I want to go. The rub, however, is that these courtesy tuk tuks usually only run on the half hour and sometimes not even then. Thus many times I am ready to go but the tuk tuk is either not ready to depart or the tuk tuk is not even there. And since I don't like waiting that leaves me with 2 choices: either walk the 5 to 7 minute distance which I don't mind (but that is me) I like to walk most of the time unless I am in a hurry or take a motorcycle taxi which are fast, almost always available night or day, and relatively cheap. So all I am saying is I don't hesitate staying in a hotel deep in a Sukhumvit soi if I like the hotel. The location is not an inconvenience as there are several ways to travel to Sukhumvit, a BTS station, Nana, Cowboy, or wherever.

P.S. and unless your hotel is within a block or two of Cowboy, Nana, or Patpong you will always have to take a taxi back to your hotel with a girl regardless of how deep in the soi your hotel is located.

An aside: on my next trip I am flying Yangon Sally into BKK for a long weekend visit. Before I depart for Yangon to pick her up, I am staying at an apartment hotel that I favor located deep down on Sukhumvit Soi 24, but for our long weekend together I have booked the Sofitel right smack dab on Sukhumvit. I want us to stay in the heart of the action so she can see all the craziness. I plan to show her Cowboy and or Nana only briefly. I know we will spend far more time in restaurants, malls, nightclubs and the most time in my hotel room. 555.

I'll always take an air conditioned taxi in Bangkok. Sometimes BTS if traffic is bad. Unless you are at NEP, most taxis obey the meter rules. Even from NEP it will only cost you 100 baht to get to Thermae or Cowboy. Taxis are so cheap in Bangkok. It's around 85 baht to get from Thermae / Nana / Cowboy to Patpong.

If anyone is ever concerned about taxi prices, NEVER go to Pattaya where there is a minimum charge of 200 baht even if you only want to go a few blocks.

Is this the new "Shrimp?" Ha ha. Must be a really fun girl. However I once took a girl with me to Pattaya and that certainly cramped my style to experience Pattaya properly. I learned the lesson though.

You wouldn't really walk all the time from deep Soi 24, right? I imagine if in a hurry, would get a motorcycle to send you to the main drag.

I agree we take bar girls away in a taxi normally unless using the ST Hotel, so I can't see why guys would actually want to stay right at the Nana Plaza. Is a traffic jam spot with poor accessibility. No right hand turn into Sukhumvit. One does not need to pay 100 Baht. I would cross Sukhumvit to be near Soi 3 or 5 first before catching a taxi to head East, which actually saves time and money. Similarly I would not want to stay at end of Soi 7/1 and run the gauntlet being seen passing by all those BJ bar girls daily.

I don't under estimate the Bangkok gossip chain. My GF once reported I was seem by someone she knows around Nana Plaza area in Soi 4. Whoops! Easy to bump into people I know around Soi Cowboy vicinity also. So walking around hand in hand with a hooker is a bit risky too, for me. MPs have an advantage for not being seen so much. All of Sukhumvit, Soi 4 through to Soi 26 is a danger area unless doing something innocent.

Moved here from the iCheck Inn on Soi 7/1 Thursday. The best thing about the Nana is the location. You literally step out of the hotel and you are in Circus Mongerus. Right in the heart of the action. It is an economical choice.

My first impression was bad. The hallways are all messy and I got to my room and found I didn't have a toilet; I had the Thai version of Old Faithful. It said "Sanitized" on the paper band across the lid, but when I opened the lid there was water under it and all over the seat, and on the floor. Then somebody in the next room flushed and the water shot up about a foot out of the toilet.

They gave me another room, and it was OK. Internet didn't work at all the first night, and very slow in the morning. Enough of the bad.

The internet has worked fine for the rest of my stay. I noticed the mess in the hallways is the result of a much-needed facelift. They even have scaffolding outside to redo the face of the hotel. There is fresh paint and maybe the renovation will reach into the rooms. My room had a half acre bed, larger than normal fridge, safe, computer desk and chairs.

I have come to like it here and can recommend it if you aren't married to luxury. I didn't come here to bask in the greatness of my room. I came here to be out on the street, doing the monger stuff that is so freely available here.

Stayed 3 nights in the iCheck Inn at the end of Soi 7/1, Sukhumvit. I enjoyed it a lot. The room was small but very comfortable. The price was economical and the bed was comfortable. Small fridge and room safe in the room. The location is great, just around the corner from the Beer Garden and on a small street with BJ bars and naughty massage parlors. There is good food available at the Caribbean Thai restaurant about 30 meters away and on the corner of 7/1 and Sukhumvit. You do have to be firm with the massage ladies as you walk past them every time you leave and return. They are fun for a while but it does get a little old.

As discussed on the Bangkok Reports board, there is a new group of beer bars going in on Soi 7 just south of the Beer Garden. ICheck Inn would be a great mongering stay for exploring this new venue.

Is this AKA Nana Condo? If so I had a regular BJ queen who lived there and I'the visit her once a week during my lunch hour for a back rub and a CIM release. Sadly she took her earnings and moved back up country. Her digs were basic but she kept it tidy and the bed was plenty big for the two of us.

That is a building down a very short driveway on Soi 4 opposite the California Ink Tattoo shop, Coffee Club and Hillary 1 Bar. Tool Shedd.Just chiming in on hotels here. The I check in is on possibly one of the most disgusting of the disgusting sois in the entertainment district. The venue's on that street are filled with hags and ladyboys. It stinks and is an open sewer when it rains. I don't play holier-than-thou and I sure as heck been down there 4 fast and efficient relief but to stay on that soi is sort of like going to visit a city and staying at skid row. The Nana hotel is also repulsive and was a dump 25 years ago.

It's kind of funny to see visitors gets seduced by the bright lights and action of the nana area, me, I consider it a pigsty. I go to that area on my nightly rambles to people-watch and I'm never really impressed.

Hi Nyezov:

Yes, Nana area is a bit of a pig sty. From what I have seen of Soi Cowboy it looks worse. Soi 7/1 is interesting to me, I don't consider it as bad as you make it out to be. My question for you: What do you recommend for a monger to see, what area do you not consider a "pig sty?" I am open to new positive information if there is something better out there, please share it with us. This is my first time in Thailand, I have had a ball, but the quality of the services I have gotten here hasn't been up to my expectations. I roll with it and move on. I have had a lot better service from the Chinese and filipina ladies in Abu Dhabi, but they are almost twice as expensive.

Please share your advice on something better, if it is out there.

Thanks in advance.

Had a quick 2-night stay in Bangkok recently and wanted a relatively cheap option near Nana. I usually stay at 4 - 4. 5 star hotels (with the occasional 5 star splurge), but wanted to budget more money to the ladies this time and opted for something in the 3-3. 5 star range. Rolled the dice and chose the DoubleTree Phloen Chit, which apparently used to be the Majestic Grande.

Despite the name, this hotel is located in Soi 2, which is a quiet, boring alley right before Soi 4 and equidistant from both Nana and Phloen Chit BTS stations (about a 5 min walk to either station). Soi 2 is also the main entrance to the JW Marriott.

Pros:

- 2 minute walk to Soi 4 via the the driveway / alley directly in front of the hotel entrance, which will lead you to Soi 4 with Hillary 1 to your right and Hillary 4 to your left.

- Despite the proximity to Soi 4, it is in a quiet location and you won't hear the loud music of Soi 4 from the hotel. This is very important to me as I really need my sleep. Soi 2 is also quite dark, so taking a girl back from Nana via the aforementioned driveway / alley reduces the length of the walk of shame.

- Girl friendly.

- (Some) rooms are newly renovated and clean, walls were immaculately white and flooring seemed brand new. My room was facing the Phloen Chit side and had a view of the KingPower Mahanakhon building.

- Lobby looks newly renovated and clean.

- I was a bit worried that the ladies may not think highly of the room as I usually stay in nicer hotels, but all 4 ladies that came during my stay didn't seem to mind and two of them said it's a nice room.

Cons:

- There is absolutely nothing happening on Soi 2. There are no F&be options except a Starbucks and McD's, though Soi 4 is only a short walk away.

- Lots of taxis and tuktuks park on Soi 2 during their breaks and most of them didn't want to use the meter. I guess that's what you get for staying near Nana.

- Despite being newly renovated, the materials did look a bit cheap, particularly the bathroom tiles.

- Found a small bug / cockroach crawling on the floor (this has happened to me quite often in Bangkok, even at nicer hotels.).

- Breakfast buffet was average.

- When I checked in, the first room they gave me was facing another direction right next to a large plot of land that was being constructed. Nonstop jackhammering. This was a bit insulting. I asked for a room change and was changed to a newly renovated room, despite being told at check in that all the newly renovated rooms were taken. Double insult.

All in all, I don't think I'll be staying here again, as it just wasn't value for money at $75/ night. The check in experience plus the bug will deter me from booking this again. The biggest positive is the fact it is so close to Nana but still quiet and discreet. At this price range / star level you can get something better like Hyatt Place in Phrom Phong. For future stays near Nana, I will stick to the reliable Landmark, which is nicer and has access to the Fitness First gym.

Tool Shedd.I get mine from careful selection, Mixx and Levels, Spasso, Tinder and if I'm in a hurry, I load up on sanitizer and go over to Soi 8 or Soi 7/1 for some gobble. If they arent hags. Sticking ones willy in a denizen of one of the more sordid places is a bit declasse, staying in the area is Ghetto.

Sure, if someone is pulling from Tinder, escort services or some other option where the girl comes to your room without you leaving it, why not stay outside of the Nana area.

But if you're pulling from Levels and Thermae very often, as I recall you do as well, those venues are every bit as deep in the Nana area "pig sty" as, say, Lol!tas, Kasalong Bar, Beer Garden, the FL stroll on Sukhumvit, Soi 5, Soi 4 or just about any bar in Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy, aren't they?

Many of us might be too well known by some of the staff working in this Soi, to consider staying there, and running the gauntlet regularly. Think of the gossip levels. Keep a low profile! Same if I walk through Cowboy or past Nana Plaza. Too many people know me. So staying right there is out of the question.

Fine for newbies I guess, if you love being in the middle of the "pig sty" all the time. Long timers here don't notice the pig sty so much when mongering, but prefer to stay somewhere a bit quieter.

She called it Nana Condo, possibly it's the same. Fairly dingy exterior, a parking lot with an elevator bank after you've walked into the parking area. First time she waited for me at the elevator, after that I'the just wave to the lonely attendant and go up to her room myself.

I miss-read your post. Nana hotel is just across the street from the entrance of the Nana Entertainment Plaza on Soi 4, just 50 meters south of Sukhumvit road. I don't know if it was a condo or not. Just a 9 story hotel at ground zero of the Nana mongering district.

ID stay in the Westin, or Radisson or down on Phrom Pong or over on Wireless if I was visiting. Before I moved in this year, I stayed at the Hotel where Monsoon is for three days and went nuts at the skeeze. And soi 8 is kind of less skeezy. But Ill never do that again anymore. There are degrees you know. I've seen more drunks blow chow in the street on Soi 4 near nana plaza than I have in front of the Sheraton.

I prefer Mixx to levels. Its 100 baht to my crib.

I prefer areas with less foreigners, which is why Thonburi beats Ekkamai, Thong Lo, PK, OnNut.

Not Least of which is I meet a better class of expat and visitor here than elsewhere. But proximity to bts and mrt stations is up there too.Can you explain what you mean here. The best Expats I know (that seem worthwhile conversing with from time to time) live, well almost anywhere. I never thought of their exact location as making a huge difference, other than those that want to live right on Soi 4 or Soi 7/1 would be suspect, and not likely to make it to my "better class" if was trying to develop one.

Some expat pals of mine are in the category of "no idea if they are mongering at all". Mongering topic does not come up in the conversation. No idea though what is the criteria for a better class of Expats. Is there really something wrong with expats who choose to live further out? Why?

Actually I did know an old guy living in or close to Soi 4. Relative of a friend. He used to do accounting for the a well known disco in Soi 4. 30 years ago was part owner of a bar. Had coffee in a group including him at Landmark last year, but don't know him that well. His level of Thai language is still weak after living in Thailand for well over 30 years. However that is normal I guess.

Another guy I know who works in Thailand long term has brilliant Thai, but he is a very smart cookie on many subjects.

Last time I stayed in Hotel Mermaid in Soi 29 which is my regular spot together with Park Plaza Sukhumvit.

Next time I might want to stay a bit closer to SC and was considering Jasmine City Hotel. The Deluxe Studio didn't seem to be bad. I like a room for about USD 100 p / and with size of minimum 40 m square. I don't bother to have breakfast.

Any better options in the area of Soi Cowboy of between SC and NEP for this price and facilities? For some reason there's barely information to find about Jasmine City Hotel.

Suk 15, back entrance to Thermae is across it's entrance, and it's basically smack dab in the middle of SC and NEP. Nice hotel, rooms avail generally from 80-100 usd.

Haven't tried to book in there for a few years now, but I'd imagine the reason you don't see information often about this place is the difficulty getting in. Not sure if tour groups book it in advance or they have long term guest, I just don't know.

Location is great and I found the rooms to be spacious and well appointed.

Thanks for info.I stayed at the Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 a month ago and 1 guest was fine but no alcohol on the room service. Room did have a big fridge / freezer though so just went shopping in the attached mall supermarket (basement level). I believe a 3rd person in the room was going to cost about 1900 thb.

Is JW Marriott in Nana girl friendly?ALL the Marriott Hotels in BKK are girl Friendly. The JW is good due to its proximity to Nana, Soi 4, and Soi 11, Thermae, ect ect. But I personally prefer the Marriott Executive Apt Sukhumvit Park (Soi 24) and the Marriott Exec Apt Thonglor (Soi 57). The 1 bedroom apartments are more my style with a kitchen, living room, and separate bedroom and for less money. A win win for me. Your preferences may differ. So you should also check out the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park (Soi 22) and since Marriott and Sheraton are now one you should also consider the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit which is nicer than the JW IMHO for around the same price and the Weston and the Four Points by Sheraton. I like the Weston although the Sukhumvit Sheraton is a lot swankier and it has a much nicer pool. If I had to choose between the JW and Sheraton Sukhumvit, I would choose the Sheraton.

I have 2 more points to make:

1. ALL 5 STAR HOTELS IN BKK ARE GIRL FRIENDLY at least that I know of and that means at least 95% are GF for sure. Pattaya for some weird reason is different. Some 4 & 5 star Pattaya hotels are trying to market themselves as Family Resorts. All I can say is Good luck on that. 555.

2. Since the merger Marriott has a huge footprint in Sukhumvit and BKK. I recommend the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless CC from Chase. If you sign up for the card, Marriott will give 75,000 instant bonus points as an incentive and waive the 1st years annual fee. Then any time during the next 12 months you can cancel the card without penalty or if you decide to renew, you get a voucher for 1 free night every year and you will be charged the annual fee going forward. Either way it is a very good deal. I am staying at the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place in Jakarta this spring for 4 nights gratis on Marriott points and vouchers. Now that's a deal! The Ritz Carlton Pacific Place Jakarta is a 6 star hotel.

Interesting view. I thought no one stayed at the Ambassador any more. Although rated 4 stars, price is low 1. 5 K for a good reason I guess. It looks to be very good value at that price. Any ideas why it has not been popular? Is it noisy?
Responding to an old comment in an area where I'm knowledgeable. I've stayed at Ambassador several times because my buddy liked (past tense) the hotel. My first visit was about 3 years ago and all was fine. Subsequent visits were not good so I will be in Mercure next month, which is about 500 THB more per night. My buddy now stays in either Dream or Mercure.

I've never stayed in the Ambassador main wing, which I've heard is terrible. I've stayed in the various grade rooms high in the tower wing. Noise has never been a problem There is always something wrong within the room. Missing water. Toilet paper holder fallen off the wall. Mold in the shower (quickly corrected when I complained). Kettle doesn't work. Uncomfortable bed. Lamp bulbs dead. Dead battery in safe. My biggest complaint is that the breakfast buffet is not well staffed, mostly long lines for custom cooked eggs. I was particularly ticked off when there was no more bacon with over an hour on the breakfast schedule and the staff told me to come back for bacon tomorrow.

I also had a problem when the suite for which I paid was given to another customer who registered at the same time as me. After discovering the problem I headed back downstairs to complain. The other customer had already unpacked their belongings and used the bed and shower. No other suites were available so I had to wait over an hour to kick out the other customer and get housekeeping to re-clean the room. In retrospect, I wish I would have just kept the room that they gave me instead of going through those headaches.

Maybe less than 20 years ago someone suggested me to try their buffet lunch which was supposedly a good deal. I tried it once. Wasn't good enough to be worthwhile. I had done buffet lunch / dinners at Century Park Hotel often, but Ambassador was not in same class at all.

Still I presume it fills a role for those needing a budget Hotel that has breakfast etc. Soi 11 has a lot of better hotels to choose from I guess.

I'm planning my return to LOS, and I had hoped to stay at the Majestic Grande. I had a hankering for their amazing lunchtime buffet, but dammit, looks like I have been thwarted by American corporate imperialism in the form of the DoubleTree. Actually, I have status with Hilton, so this would work fine for me, but does anyone have any up-to-date intel on this hotel? All I could find on the post-Hilton version of the hotel was this from MrKim:

Rolled the dice and chose the DoubleTree Phloen Chit, which apparently used to be the Majestic Grande . . . Haven't seen Travelodge hotel on sukhumvit soi 11 mentioned much here. Stayed there last February and going back soon. It was very girl friendly. Paid about 50 USD per night, and the standard is good. A bit further away from sukhumvit road than some others, but the walk was fine. I left the room safe open on accident one day, and pretty sure a few thousand baht went missing. I had like 15 k there so they probably thought I wouldn't notice. Little did they know I kept track of every bill, to see how much I spent on girls. My bad anyways for leaving it unlocked; lesson learned!

My bad anyways for leaving it unlocked; lesson learned!Cash is the one thing likely to be stolen from your room, if easily found. Gold might be another. I never use a safe and any cash is generally safe to be in my wallet assuming I do not leave it in the room unattended. I don't need to carry large amounts of cash (and would not) as have Thai bank account. Best not to travel with too much in the way of very valuable stuff, other than your passport.

I suspected a girl of stealing some cash once, but unusual. I had forgotten it when went to the shower. Normally I don't leave it lying around. The temptation for many Thais is just too strong. Many Thai girls relate tales of their boyfriends stealing their cash, jewellery, or other valuables too.

We have to remember that some Thais get extremely desperate for money on occasions, so not all are 100% honest. Still most of my regular girls have never tried to steal from me. Just the one, maybe, and she was certainly not a reliable type.

50 dollars sounds like an extra special deal. I would have expected a bit more than that. Its a long way down the Soi though. Maybe to far to suit me. Too many minutes to walk unless weather is nice. I try for 300m down Soi or less.

I stayed at Maitria Hotel in Soi 18 middle of December. This hotel is like service apartment with Kitchen, living room and bedroom. Nice rooms, close to Soi Cowboy and Nana. I booked the rooms for around $75 a night.

I stayed at Viva Garden Service Apartment at the end of December. This hotel is little bit far away from the action. It is 2 minutes walk from Bang Chak BTS. It take about 15 minutes to get to Nana BTS by train. Apartments are very nice and big with balcony, kitchen, living room and bedroom. It was about $75 per night.

My work has booked me into a hotel in BKK which isn't listed on any of the guest-friendly lists. Nice hotel but its about 2-3 train stops west of Nana near centralworld so maybe its too far to take a ST / LT?

Are the hotels further away from Nana likely to be guest friendly?

I just came across this wonderful forum, and this is my first post. I have already RTFFed 20 pages of this thread before posting my query. I would be traveling to Bangkok in mid of Feb for a couple of business meetings. I would be spending most of the time in hotel & don't want to get trapped in an area without much to do. I am confused between Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit & Mariott Executive Apartments, Thonglor. While I like the apartment type rooms at Marriott (Hyatt rooms look basic), but looks like Mariott is located far from the areas of action, and I would have to take a transport to visit the areas of action. Is that true? Also, what's the opinion on Avani + Riverside Bangkok. While it is far away from the action but spending time with girls and a view of the river is something I would love to do. Any feedback on Avani?

It's not that far, but when you have just procured a gorgeous pliable woman and you are in the taxi and your cock is leaking precum, every km is an ache.

Between the two I would take the Hyatt in a heartbeat. It's right on Suk, near Thermae, walkable to Nana and Cowboy, walkable to soi 11 - super location, excellent hotel, nothing to complain about. If you want an apartment style place, there are plenty of such locations in the neighborhood: Adelphi Suites, Phachara Suites, Centre Point Wireless Road (I think renamed to something else). Just a little further away (but still close by) is Cape House, and if you want a Marriott executive apartment, you could take the Mayfair on soi Laungsuan:

https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bkker-mayfair-bangkok-marriott-executive-apartments/

This is a super property, with no walk of shame.

Also, what's the opinion on Avani + Riverside Bangkok. While it is far away from the action but spending time with girls and a view of the river is something I would love to do. Any feedback on Avani?I'd avoid the river. It's too far. And I would not plan to get too romantic with any of the girls. This is work for them. They are very sweet, and will indulge you and all, but you won't spend too much time looking at the river, sipping mimosas and chatting with your girl: If things go to plan, you will be fucking like jack rabbits in the hot tub. And you can do that in any location.

Any feedback on Avani?Welcome to the forum DrunkenMonk and welcome back Kumbu. I didn't realize there was an Avani at the river but I'm guessing they bought the Marriott as they did in Pattaya. Avani Pattaya is no longer girl friendly and I'm guessing their BKK property isn't either.

As Kumbu stated the river is just too far away. Most girls won't want to go that far. Short times are out of the question. Taking the BTS or taxi there can be painful. The BTS has been grossly overcrowded for a few years. If you have a regular girl it might work. The Hyatt Regency is new and beautiful. I've never stayed there but walked inside. Hyatt location is outstanding.

Any feedback on Avani?Suggest to stay at the Hyatt if there is an option. It's a no brainer. Rooms are new and 5 star standard. Service is excellent and great location. I have stayed there several times already. Have cycled through girls whole evening, no issues. Also taken two at a time no problem. In fact you can even avoid the lobby to change it up by using the outside elevator to the 3rd floor then walking past the Lets Relax massage place to another elevator that takes you to the hotel market cafe floor. Also have taken several chicks who I feel are "qualified" to the hotel roof top restaurant & bar. It's a nice way to wind down after a boinking session and perhaps rejuvenate for the next round assuming LT without having to step out anywhere else.

Is that true? Also, what's the opinion on Avani + Riverside Bangkok. While it is far away from the action but spending time with girls and a view of the river is something I would love to do. Any feedback on Avani?Yes you have to take transport. A taxi. So what, no big deal? You can afford it. Taxis are very cheap (on the meter). Not many guys stay so close to Nana Plaza that they don't need to use a taxi. Thonglor is not that far away, even with a traffic jam. Thonglor also has a skytrain station. You could walk to the action at night if you like walking for 30 minutes. Soi cowboy to Marriott Exec is 2. 5 km. From Nana a little more.

Riverside is different. That is far too far from Sukhumvit action when there is a traffic jam. Girls will be reluctant to go there unless they know you and you pay very well. Avani is even wrong side of the river (Thonburi I think) which only makes it worse. On a weekday (Sunday is better) could be 14 km by taxi taking 1 hour or more (big traffic jams), unless very late at night. Just too much hassle.

So Thonglor and the Riverside are like chalk and cheese, so different for convenience. You can see it all on Google maps.

River views would make more sense if a girl is staying with you for several days, and you know her well. If you must stay at River, at least stay on the east side of the river, and use Google maps to check traffic flows at various times of day. Nyetzov is the expert on this topic since he reports to live in Thonburi.

Have the potential to pop to BKK for 4-5 days. I'm looking for somewhere with decent weather to relax with good P2P options and it seems for the next two weeks the weather here will be perfect whereas for other locations in SEA (MNL / PP) its a bit hit and miss. I'm looking for a 5 Star hotel, with a decent pool that gets a good amount of sun during the day, within walking distance to Nana and Soi Cowboy. I've seen good prices at Grand Sukhumvit Hotel, but the few reviews I've come across here aren't overly complimentary. After that the Radisson Blu is the next cheapest but it doesn't seem a walkable distance from Nana (especially when returning with a girl? I preferred Nana to Cowboy and think there and Thermae will be my most likely venues. Failing that, the Hyatt is doable but not sure about their pool. I'm assuming that all hotels in this area are girl friendly.

Last time I went to Bangkok I stayed at the Sofitel near Thermae but since I've left it late its £600/ night and I'm not paying that when any 5 star hotel is as good as any other I think. Didn't use the pool though so I have no idea about that aspect of the hotel.

Bit off topic for this thread, but for what I want (Daytime sun and relaxation and gogo bars at night) would I just be better off heading to Pattaya? Would I find more resort (ish) hotels there with larger pools?

Any feedback on Avani?Welcome to the forum DrunkenMonk, the responses you have received thus far on your query are very accurate and to the point. But let me add a few personal remarks:

Everything is a trade off. If you want to be situated on the river for the benefit of the BKK vibe and easy daytime access to cultural sites, go for it. The river has a lot to offer in this respect. I would recommend staying on the East bank in hotels like Shangri La or the Mandarin Oriental if you can afford it. But this decision would eliminate in practical terms Sukhumvit (NANA & Soi Cowboy) nightlife. Think 45 minute taxi rides each way or change of BTS trains to get there. But you would still have reasonable taxi & one train BTS access to Patpong and Patpong is very good these days.

The alternative is staying somewhere on Sukhumvit with easy access to all that is Sukhumvit at night and you would still be able to visit all the cultural river sites during the day. I would choose the latter option if I were you, but both options are doable. As to where to stay on Sukhumvit: Marriott Thonglor Exec Hotel is very good. I have stayed there many times (read my reviews) and Syzgies is right, that this hotel has easy access to the Thonglor BTS station. But if you want to be in the heart of the action choose the Weston, Sheraton, Sofitel, or Hyatt Regency all walking distance to Cowboy, Nana, Soi 11 ect ect. I think that for a 1st timer this would be your best bet. There is something quite amazing about walking out of your 5 star hotel from 9 pm to 4 am and seeing scores of friendly Street Walkers right in front of you. HA HA. As far as romantic river views shared with a hooker: I get it, but I think it is equally romantic to share the Sukhumvit high rise skyline view with your gal. I can't count the number of photos I have taken of my girls with the Sukhumvit skyline as a backdrop. The choice is yours.

Bit off topic for this thread, but for what I want (Daytime sun and relaxation and gogo bars at night) would I just be better off heading to Pattaya? Would I find more resort (ish) hotels there with larger pools? The 5 star hotels you should consider based on your criterion that they be walking distance to Cowboy, Nana, & Soi 11 are the Weston, Sheraton, Sofitel, Hyatt Regency and possibly the J. W. Marriott. Among these the Sheraton has the best swimming pool. The others have smaller, but sunny pools and are fine.

The Radisson Blu is not really a 5 star hotel, but it is comfortable. It's pool is small, yet adequate and in the sun 10 to 2. Likewise I do not consider the Grand Centre Point a true 5 star hotel, BUT they have a great pool which is almost as good as the Sheraton's pool and it is in the sun all day.

All these BKK hotels are super girl friendly ie there is no ID carding and you can bring as many girls back to your hotel room as you want. Note: Go Go girls do not like to walk far. 555. So if your hotel is more than 3 blocks from her bar she will want a taxi to go to your hotel regardless of how easy it was for you to walk to her bar. But it is nice to be in the zone because after your 1st girl of the evening leaves, you can step outside your hotel and easily walk to your next venue wherever that might be; Thermae, Cowboy, Nana, Soi 11 night clubs, or just a Sukhumvit walkabout to see what you find. The action is ongoing all night.

Pattaya, the Go Go capital of the world, has a lot to offer, but strangely not as much diversity in venue as BKK. Beach Road is nice to stroll during the day if you can take the heat and interesting at night, but the water is polluted. The outrageously overpriced, girl friendly, 5 star, Pattaya Hilton is not worth the price and its pool is not better than the 5 star Hotels mentioned in this post. Some 4 & 5 star Pattaya hotels like the Ayani (a former Marriott) are decidedly not girl friendly. Make sure before you book them. But if you have never been to Pat, you owe it to yourself to check it out someday. When is up to you.

Thanks everyone for the inputs. Have dropped the idea of staying on the riverside after getting to know the challenges from seniors here. Have booked Adelphi suites for 2 days & will book either the Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit or Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit for 3 days. While the location of Hyatt is better but looks like Sheraton Grande has nicer rooms & is overall a better property. So confused between these 2 hotels. Any suggestions amogst these two? I will report back on my sojourns once I am back. Will do a mix of Go-gos & Escorts. Thanks everyone for the guidance.

Thanks everyone for the advise. River will have to wait. As per the recommendations below, I have booked 2 nights in Adelphi Suites (they have a great offer running on Agoda) and for 3 nights, I am confused between Hyatt Regency & Sheraton Grande. Though Hyatt's location is unbeatable but Sheraton Grande looks to be a nicer property with better rooms. Any thoughts on which one to book?

I would be doing a mix of Go-gos & Escorts. Would report back my experiences once I am back.

Both have great locations and are of high standard per reports here. I would choose based on either lowest price or which hotel chain I collect frequent stay points. For me all things being equal, I would chose Hyatt because I prefer to be on the side of Sukhumvit with odd numbered sois. Also the Hyatt is only about 2 years old.

This kind of thing would not go unrepaired in a true 5 star. I noticed back in the fall of 2018 when I was last there that the coffee table in my room was stained. That is small potatoes, but it all adds up to a certain kind of vibe. I have over 4 free nights worth of Radisson Points, but I decided to stay elsewhere (the Marriott Park Exec, the Weston, the Hilton on points, the Intercontinental on points, and the Sofitel) on my next big visit.

FWIW, I'm kind of addicted to staying at the Davis Hotel. Nice pool. Good rooms. Right in the middle of Suk. Probably not great for mongers who want a 4 minute walk home, but I like it, and if long term, it's cheaper than many for the quality you get.

If I am asking this it might mean its not for my bankroll but I still want to book a couple of nights at Adelphi Suites for some escorts.

My question is Are they reserving extra money at check in?

I remember staying at Arts Hotel in Barcelona back in 2009 and I think they blocked 300 or 600 euro at check in and they released it after a week or two. But I didn't have extra fees to pay at checkout.

Most would say too far too walk. 700 m walk from Phrom Phong BTS sky train. Davis is in narrow Sois with traffic jams at some times of day. Okay For taxi back from Soi Cowboy or Nana at night. In busy times taxis would use Rama IV, most likely. Being close to Tesco Lotus maybe useful, however I don't really like the location myself.

Sometimes just enough to cover room service (usually its 1000 PHP in MNL, or about £15) and usually no more than the one night room rate. The Arts Hotel in Barcelona is ridiculous in overcharging though so it doesn't surprise me to hear of that kind of deposit fee.

Not sure whether you meant this, but if you're literally just getting a hotel to fuck escorts then I would not bother going big. Stay in a nice hotel because you want to, not to impress them. I always remind myself that, despite being fairly successful compared to the population, the hottest gogo girls have most likely been with / met multi millionaires so anything I can offer isn't going to be better than anything they've seen already.

Although I have never stayed at the Davis it looks like an interesting hotel. Syzygies is correct, obviously, that it is located near the southern end of Soi 24 and for some this location would eliminate it from consideration, but I kind of like the relaxed residential Soi 24 neighborhood. I have stayed many times at the Marriott Park which is a 1. 5 blocks north of the Davis and never felt too inconvenienced.

To that point; from the Marriott it takes around 8 minutes to walk to Sukhumvit, but Soi 24 is a thru street connecting Rama IV and Sukhumvit so there is a continuous flow of motorcycle taxis that run up and down it all day and most of the night. It is very cheap and convenient to jump on one of these transports to ride to Sukhumvit in under a minute. The taxi guys prefer not to leave Soi 24, so it costs a bit more to have them go to Cowboy, but I have done it when I didn't feel like messing with the BTS which is getting to be how I feel more and more. It's a trip, man! 555. Four or five minutes of cheap thrills. I also take motorcycle taxis from the Marriott Park to La Belle and the MRT Station nearby by way of Soi 38 to Phetchaburi. This is a very fast route and does away with the Asok traffic snarl when I want to go north. And in addition, heading to and from Patpong in a taxi is straight shot via Rama IV.

Fellas, a simple question. I'm considering the two for a potential visit next month, and would appreciate your feedback (especially on the Conrad, since I'm a little concerned about the location).

For me, Landmark wins on location: right around the corner from NEP, walking distance to Thermae, and not too far from Cowboy. It's a quality hotel, a quality pool, an excellent gym. I like that it is not intimate at all, and I can wander freely without the fear of prying eyes. I mean, there are eyes, but it's not a particularly personal hotel. And I like that.

However, I have Diamond status with Conrad, and so I may well get an upgrade at the Conrad, plus the free breakfast and all the other goodies that come with status. I've never stayed at the Conrad, and it looks a tad out of the way. Previous reports on ISG suggest the location is fine (not great), and the hotel works for what we all do here.

But your thoughts and advice would be most appreciated.

I thought would be difficult to get to Nana by taxi from Conrad due to one way roads and right hand turn restrictions. Perhaps you can explain how the taxis get there? I always thought of Conrad as a high class hotel with but difficult location. Google Maps suggests taxi has to go up to Phetburi road, a big detour. Would actually be quicker to walk to Nana Plaza as only about 1 km by foot. The return trip by taxi is far easier and direct.

I stayed at the Conrad one time during their grand soft opening promo period. It is a quality hotel. I remember their buffet breakfasts were varied and very good. My rooms was relatively large, modern and well appointed like many other competing hotels in it's class. But I was not fond of the location primarily because after midnight the neighborhood is dead as a doornail.

That's why I prefer the Intercontinental or the Grand Hyatt when I choose to stay in this neck of the woods. At least with those two you have Mixx and Spasso in really close proximity for late night entertainment especially Thurs thru Sat night. But except for the 24 hour McDonalds on the corner and a 24 hour grocery store nearby there is nowhere to go for a late supper. That said, the main reason I stay around Chit Lom for 4 or 5 nights every trip, beside the fact that I have hotels vouchers and points to apply for free nights, is to have ready access to Patpong.

From the Intercontinental or Grand Hyatt I can either take a taxi, if I am in a hurry, or walk to Ratchadamri BTS to go to Patpong or I can catch the Sukhumvit line at Chit Lom BTS to go to Nana. Returning from Patpong with a girl in a taxi is not a problem and takes no more than 7 or 8 minutes and 60 to 80 baht as long as you do not get into a waiting taxi on Silom or Surawong. Same Same for taking taxi from Patpong back to the Conrad. It is equally easy to do plus going to and from Nana from the Conrad is even easier. You could actually walk to Nana if you are not in a hurry, but catching the BTS from Phloen Chit station is your best bet. Then a taxi back from Nana to the Conrad with a girl is a straight shot and very fast. So again, my only gripe with the Conrad is its quiet, very quiet neighborhood after midnight and the lack of late night nearby restaurants and bars. If that is not a negative for you then you will like your stay at the Conrad.

Incidentally, a friend of mine always stays at the Athenee Hotel which is just up the block from the Conrad. That is a a very elegant hotel, but he has a long time girlfriend. They never go to Nana or Patpong and they usually are in bed early. HA HA.

Perhaps a motorcycle can sneak through the walking route too, depending on police.

Being an Escort man, I guess you are not going to Nana Plaza much. I also don't go there much, but find coming from the opposite direction a little easier and don't use taxis in Soi 4.

I stayed at the Conrad one timeThanks for this info, NB, I appreciate it. And to others who have responded as well: many thanks.

I would ordinarily have booked the Conrad, just for the status benefits, despite the reservations about its location. But in the end I found a killer deal for the Landmark. So it's back to my regular digs, at least for this upcoming trip. There are some good hotel deals to be had right now, perhaps virus-inspired.

Any thoughts on this hotel?I stayed a few nights here back in November. Never saw the Majestic Grande pre-Hilton so I can't compare but it was completely adequate. Breakfast was okay. There is not really a bar area beyond the small one in the lobby, but I can't imagine you're planning to sit in your hotel bar the entire time. Staff were pleasant.

Pros:

- short walk to Soi 4 through the alley.

- easy to get a tuk tuk nearby.

- quiet street.

- comfortable room and Hilton points at a low price.

Cons:

- still undergoing renovation. Make sure you get a renovated room. With Hilton status that shouldn't be an issue. I do think the pool is closed right now for renovation.

- Elevators are in plain sight of front desk. Not a big deal but I always feel awkward walking past everyone with my guests.

- No large bar. That said, the bartender when I was there last was great.

- not all taxi drivers know it yet. No big deal but you'll need to tell some of them soi 2 instead of the hotel name.

- not many outside food options immediately nearby. Again, no biggie but if that matters to you then it might be a drag.

I'll be in BKK next weekend and booked a balcony suite since I have enough Hilton points to cover it. I'll update again after my stay.

Hi all,

Appreciate the time to read this.

I'm going to Thailand for the first time in late February for two weeks. I'd like a good quality hotel with nice rooms and I stumbled onto this site https://www.gfriendlyhotels.com/guest-friendly-hotels-bangkok/#Nana_Soi_Cowboy which listed the Phachara Suites as their most booked guest friendly hotel.

I'm new to all of this so I really have no idea looking at where it's located if it's in a good location or not, even looking at the map it's hard to tell. It doesn't appear too far from the action areas, but I've read that sometimes girls can be very picky about how far away your hotel is from their bar if you're picking someone for ST.

I'm not necessarily looking for the best bargain in the world. I have the money to spend on a good place (although nobody wants to just throw money away). My main goals are a nice spacious room, guest friendly, washer and dryer so I can pack lighter, hopefully walking distance from the fun places. I'd appreciate any advice on whether or not I'm thinking about this properly.

Thanks for this info, NB, I appreciate it. And to others who have responded as well: many thanks.

I would ordinarily have booked the Conrad, just for the status benefits, despite the reservations about its location. But in the end I found a killer deal for the Landmark. So it's back to my regular digs, at least for this upcoming trip. There are some good hotel deals to be had right now, perhaps virus-inspired.I too found super deals at the Landmark recently. One for 6 days before NYE & another one this last weekend. Great value and location. Always attempt to upgrade to the corner premium room at the reception. If you are nice to them manager always agree. The larger room came in handy last Friday. Had BFed a cutie from Nana Plaza, then after hanky panky took her to Levels where we met up with a couple of other ladies at our table & all 4 of us came back to the landmark. I was really sozzled with many a whiskey but what the heck it was my last days in LOS for a long while I think. Just remember a lot of pounding but one by one as rarely they join in together it seems. Cost me a bunch but hey life is short and as they say only Bond lives twice.

You're a very short walk from Nana Plaza and the FL's on Soi 4 so no one from these areas should have an issue. Soi 7/1 and Nana BTS are nearby too. Soi Cowboy and Thermae are not so bad by car to the hotel but getting back can be an issue. I can see some Thermae girls balking that you are staying so far away. However, if they like you or are desperate they will have no issues going.

I wouldn't worry about making a washing machine a requirement. There is bound to be an inexpensive laundromat fairly near any hotel you stay at.

I'the stay near Nana Plaza rather than Soi Cowboy personally having tried hotels in both areas. That being said if you want to stay near Soi Cowboy the Furama is a decent enough 4* star hotel for around 1500-2000 baht per night and about 6 or 7 minute walk unless you're really brave dodging traffic which would save 2 minutes. Guest friendly. No ID check even. Rooms are nice, clean and spacious although a bit dated (wear and tear on fixtures / tiles was obvious) and there are only 2 lifts which can be irritating if busy time of day. There was a laundry just down the round from the hotel but I just used the hotel service for 2 or 3 items (so overpaid I know). Other hotels I've stay at have been far more expensive though pretty sure I had a washer / dryer at centre point 21 hotel but is at least double the price of Furama.

Unless I've completely missed something (and maybe I have, I'm new here after all) there's no basic beginner's guide explaining terminology and the different areas of the city and how they interrelate.

The answers to all your questions and a whole lot more is here. Go back 6 to 12 months and skim forward. For example,

FL = free lancer. As to finding out about FL's on Soi 4, in Soi 4 bars, or in Thermae: RTFF or wait until you arrive in BKK and take a stroll down Soi 4 or the odd numbered soi side of Sukhumvit between Soi 3 and Soi 19 from around 10pm to - midnight. Seeing it with your own eyes is worth a million words.

Good Hunting. Have fun.

...I think most maps of the lower soi numbered Sukhumvit area where many of the girls and bars are located make things look much farther away than they really are. I could start on foot at Nana Plaza, circle around all the main beer bars, blow job bars and freelancer strolls to Soi Cowboy in less than 20 minutes at a moderate pace unless I get stopped or delayed by a sexually interesting distraction along the way. Which makes the trip seem shorter anyway.

Phachara Suites is about a 5 minute walk from Nana Plaza so walking there with a gogo dancer from Nana Plaza or any of the hundreds of other beer bar girls and Freelancers in that area is no problem at all.

The popular Freelancer hangout, Thermae, is not really far on foot either. Fastest route would be to take the escalator outside the nearby Hyatt Regency Hotel to the skywalk for BTS Nana Station, wind around to the steps at Exit 4, make a quick left turn on Soi 6 about 10 seconds from the bottom of those steps and follow Soi 6 down and to the right for about 4 minutes and you will be at Phachara Suites. Maybe a 10 minute walk in total from Thermae unless your girl is wobbling uncertainly in high heels.

The tricky part about taking a regular taxi from Thermae or the Soi Cowboy bar area is the driver will likely need to go down Soi 4 to wrap around Soi 6 where Phachara Suites is located. He can't turn onto Soi 6 directly from Sukhumvit since Soi 6 is a one way soi going the wrong way from that direction (some intrepid taxi drivers will say fuck it and do it anyway, depending on the time of night and traffic). Normally that is no problem but for the past several months there has been underground sewer pipe work or something going on Soi 4 at night right before the Soi 6 access, closing it to auto traffic.

However, going to and from Phachara Suites and Soi Cowbiy by motorcycle taxi is the fastest and can be done in a matter of 2-3 minutes. If you are into taking motorcycle taxis, as I am and do it all the time, it is also very likely your Soi Cowboy girl will have no qualms about taking a motorcycle taxi ride anywhere. That is probably how she got to work that evening, either by motorcycle taxi or on her boyfriend's motorcycle. Same with Nana Plaza gogo dancers.

Spent 2 days at Grande Centre Point T21 and Pullman Grande recently. Both very good hotels and no issues with guests, can't really go wrong with either. Got the Deluxe Premium in T21, huge room with separated living and bedroom area, large windows with great views, nice facilities and convenient location, decent breakfast which was discounted (290) when I was there. Only complaint is that the bed is very firm, and may be a bit uncomfortable for people preferring a softer bed. Stayed in the Premium Deluxe in Pullman as well, much smaller room, excellent location just down the street from Cowboy, great view but the facilities showing some signs of age, and a breakfast that was not worth its price. Overall price at Pullman was also slightly higher than what I paid for at T21. One thing to note is that T21 is a bit more obscure, had some issues with app girls and escorts getting the location right, be sure to let them know it's the Grande Centre Point at Terminal 21, as there are like 3 or 4 Grande Centre Points in the vicinity.

Breakfast had excellent variety, but I don't know what is its price these days. In many hotels I don't take a breakfast at all, and make my own in the room, which can save wasted money when all I want is oats and coffee. Bed mattresses were like sleeping on a cloud, ultra soft.

I booked a suite with a terrace. The suite is large enough and comfortable. The terrace is huge. WAY better than the unrenovated room I had last time, which I can now compare to this. Same commentary as before on the pros and cons of this hotel.

I stayed at Fraser Suites & Hyatt Regency during my last visit. I didn't face any issues in calling escorts to the room directly in either of them. If budget is not a problem, Hyatt is no brainer. The rooms are nice & the hotel is located right in the center of areas of interest. Everything is at a walking distance. Fraser suites is worth the price, but of course it is not upscale as Hyatt. The only problem is that it is located a bit far off from areas of action. I will book either of these again depending upon my budget & if I need an apartment type room.

Hi friends,

I have been to Bangkok few times. Have stayed in Hotel Mermaid and Grand Centre Point Polenchit. Mermaid corner suit is very big and with balcony but it's not luxurious stay. Grand Centre Point Polenchit is 5 star and with balcony and is pretty good. I have called multiple girls through out my stay. Many times in a single day, even two girls at a time, No issues at all.

This time I want to splurge for a bigger room with balcony and jacuzzi. Balcony is important as I like to smoke. Hotel Solitaire Grande Jacuzzi suit looks very promising. Has any one have any experience of the hotel? GF friendly?

When this bloody virus leaves us, but before January 2021 (hopefully), I need to spend a week doing an online training course to achieve additional qualifications for work. I fully intend to do this in Bangkok sitting peacefully next to a hotel pool taking my time to get the best result I can.

In the past I've been locked into the two main Radission hotels along / near Sukhumvit, but I am freer to pick my own hotel this time plus I'm over the Radisson chain for a number of reasons irrelevant to this question.

Can anyone give a recommendation for a 5 star hotel with a great pool? I would be comfortable paying around US $400 per night so my budget is OK (I think). My needs are meager, 1) Good internet access, 2) Bar and food service, 3) Adequate shade to shield a laptop screen from the sun when needed, 4) MINIMAL SCREAMING KIDS!

Any suggestions? Thanks.

For US $ 400/ night you can probably choose any 5 star hotel in BKK and have plenty over. For a mid December booking the Park Hyatt is $250 ++ and the Grand Hyatt about $140. I'm a Hyatt member so I usually stay at one of their hotels. Not sure about the pool at the PH, but the GH pool is ok, if not a bit small.

Since you are staying a week I would join a hotel program (Hyatt, Hilton, etc.) since most of the tiers for benefits are around 10 days, so 1 week will get you most of the way there.

Stykler, if you want to spend some real moolah and get what you are paying for, check out the St Regis, the Park Hyatt, The Sukhothai, the Siam Kempinski, the Sheraton Sukhumvit, and the Grand Hyatt in roughly this descending price order. Kerrstar is right. First apply for a Hotel travel CC If you think you might want to stay at a Marriott or Hyatt property. The bonus signups make the cards very attractive and the annual free nights more than pay for the annual fee which in any case is waived for the 1st year. I still have pending free night voucher & hotel point reservations at the St Regis BKK, the Hilton Sukhumvit, Intercontinental BKK, and the Grand Hyatt Jakarta for my upcoming trip. I was really looking forward to checking out the new St. Regis in August. 555. But looks like I will have to get a raincheck on that. Damn!

Considering location (proximity to Go Go's and clubs) as being as important as a large, relaxing, quiet, urban 5 star garden-pool scape, I recommend the Sheraton, the Sukhothai, and the Park Hyatt because all three hotels are walking distance to Cowboy, Patpong, or Nana respectively, and all three hotels have very, very nice pool areas. Of these 3, the Sheraton has the best location.

However, the St. Regis and Grand Hyatt are not bad locations for Patpong. The St Regis is the current top dog new luxury BKK hotel. The Grand Hyatt is much older (less expensive) and not up to the same standard nor as nice as the St Regis or Park Hyatt for that matter. The Park Hyatt is another new, top bracket luxury BKK hotel you can't go wrong with, but the Grand Hyatt's pool / garden area is very nice except for one small thing; the pool is opposite a bend in the Silom train tracks and as the trains go around the bend to head for Siam Paragon Station they make loud creaky sounds every time they pass by the pool. I got used to it, but I think you ought to know about that. The Grand's rooms facing Ratchadamri are totally sound proof however.

So to sum up, if money is not a factor, you should consider the St Regis, the Park Hyatt, The Sukhothai, and the Sheraton Sukhumvit. These are my top 4 picks. But seriously, you really think this shit will be over by Jan 2021? I hope so too, but I am starting to doubt it. Corona ain't going away on it's own, so we who are currently living outside of LOS, are forced to wait for a vaccine and whenever that happens is anybody's guess.

To be honest I hadn't even considered the St. Regis, as I thought that hotel management wouldn't have enjoyed the sight of one of their guests stomping around their hotel with a young nubile Thai damsel in tow. But considering the financial setback this virus has presented I assume there may be some relaxation of their sensibilities.

Thanks again to you and Kerrstar for your thoughts, as they have prompted more research on my behalf. Fingers crossed this crap ends soon.

Does anyone know if the Amara Bangkok is girl friendly? Thanks!Brother P,

I don't know if you are aware but Amara Bangkok is on the list of Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotels (https://thaiest.com/blog/list-of-alternative-state-quarantine-asq-hotels-thailand). If you are planning to stay there as an "ordinary" member of the public you are likely to find it isn't available. If you're thinking of using to quarantine you'll find it extremely girl unfriendly.

Those in quarantine are not allowed out of the ASQ hotel and visitors not allowed in. I did read one account of someone who went into ASQ and was only allowed out of their room for 1 hour per day to go to the swimming pool and even this was only from day 5 on once they had tested negative for the virus. The cock-up in Rayong involving a bunch of Egyptian military, one of whom subsequently tested positive, who were supposed to isolate during their stop-overs to and from China and promptly wandered out to the shopping malls means rules have been both tightened and enforced with great rigour.

You know, you can go to the Interconty or the Grand Hyatt and stay in the lap of luxury and walk right downstairs and get you some quality Viet or elegant Thai and never need to see a Burkha or have someone try to sell you a fake Rolex, is that what you want to spend?.Are you implying there were "quality Viet or elegant Thai" P4P ladies in the lobby, or elsewhere, inside those hotels? Or such as freelancers outside on the street near the hotels?

Would you care to share any more info re these females, such as price, pics of what you consider "quality", etc?

I wonder if any others can confirm that these two hotels are places where sex workers from Vietnam can be found.

Personally I've found over the years some very attractive Thai, Laos & mixed race gals on the streets near NEP.

Any information about the hotels on Soi 11? I normally stay at the Citadines, but they are closed for the duration it seems. Each of these 5 star hotels have nightclubs on their lower level. Spasso is in the Grand Hyatt. Mixx is in the Intercontinental. Plenty has been written about these 2 particular establishments. Search the forum for these posts if you are interested. Prices are considerably higher than Go Go prices. There is a mix (pardon the pun) of imports available in both bars. There are no SW's in this neighborhood. Thurs, Fri and Sat are the only nights worth checking out. I hope these bars reopen when the pandemic ends.

I was just looking over a couple of YouTube videos taken within the last week on Soi 11. I was surprised to see that the bar in front of the hotel, Mulli's, was gone. All the fixtures of the bar from the railing, tables, chairs, lighting and bar equipment was totally gone, stripped to the bare concrete flooring. The railing was replaced with razor wire which would be normally seen on top of jail or prison walls. I have a feeling that the hotel will be subject to sale or replacement as it has been closed since April.

I booked a Bangkok hotel yesterday. Couldn't believe how cheap they were. About 30% of the usual prices. Even places like Intercontinental beside Erawan Shrine were about 90 USD. Amazing.Vegas hotels are so cheap they are attracting Hoodlums from all over the USA. Violence is up big on the Vegas Strip.

You got FBI walking Casinos now.

You got FBI walking Casinos now.On my last few trips pre-virus I stayed at Rio. Cost of the room (Mon-Thurs) was $0.00. Couldn't believe it. Of course there was still that damn $32/ night resort fee.

For what month did you book? Still seems like Thailand is still far from allowing people to enter the country. In calendar year 2020. I'm working on a few things to try getting in. Remember I'm not a typical tourist. Free Cancellation on the hotel until the date of arrival so nothing to lose booking now.

What a joke. Some hotels aren't even resorts and still charge a resort fee. I usually stay in an AirBNB towards Henderson to avoid ridiculous resort fees. Really want to go to Vegas but without buffets that takes a bite out of my desire to be there. Can only spend so much time in the Rhino and Sapphire VIPs.
