My experience has been that on a like for like basis mongering is more expensive in London and Canada/USA than here, though now with the strong A$ some prices may be more comparable but I din't believe less. i wasn't suggesting that we complain and i never will complain unless the service given is blatantly different than that described. anyone would do the same in that circumstance or - as you said - simply not go back there.

The problem in Australia is that let's say that someone is unemployed and wants to work in the 'industry'. They lose 50% to the agency every job. They then lose 50% of the balance to social security reducing their benefit, the lose 30% in tax. All in all, they can do a job for $300 and end up with $45.

It was probably who gave you directions there, this is pretty much my favourite RnT joint atm, I sorry that you won't be hurrying back. I guess that is one of the their 'tricks of the trade' they get you hard then they slug you with paying for offering very little. I agree with some of the comments made here. We have no control over the prices being charged as it's all a matter of supply and demand.
