It will be my first time in Vietnam and I refuse to overpay.

So a couple of basic questions:

- How does one know the ticket price? Other posts have explicitly said NOT to ask for prices, so how are you supposed to know the prices for different establishments?

- It seems common to tip equal to the ticket price, which to me seems incredibly odd. The tip is voluntary, right? If the ticket price is 300 k I can simply pay that and tip absolutely nothing right?

Most reputable place have their price clearly listed and should charge the same price for locals or tourists. IF you don't see price clearly listed, leave, you might in for trouble. There are some places even dangerous for locals. Ie, after the terrible service they will charge you 5 x 10 x the promised price. If you don't pay, there are thugs waiting around there already. Even if you call the police it could be too late. So do your home work, ask around of refer from friends.

- to answer the questions why there are ticket price and mandatory tip.

Ticket price are for the shop owner (rent / heating / cooling / water / cleaning / facilities / protections / employee not ladies / profit) and the Mandatory tips are for the ladies, because they don't get paid at all by the owner / shop. So your tip is their salary, and they live on it. Many shop they have minimum tipping policy is the same as ticket price. Some terrible shop / owner even get a % cut from the ladies' tip to make more money. That means, the girl even have to pay the owner to work there (so they can make money). So sometimes, if you get terrible service / attitude, mostly because the lady don't get paid enough / not happy with with what they are doing / making.

Of course, if you not happy with the service / price, feel free to talk to manager / owner. They might get you discount or something.

- Thats why, sometimes when I go massage in Hanoi, I always ask my locals buddies where they like to go, it could cost a bit more, but I get much better quality time and service, and reduce lot of risks (robs / thef / bad services /.).

I've been there last week, I came around 12 pm, there were only two girls. I don't know why, but I thought that I will have sex too, but girl told to me that I cannot have sex in this place. Overall massage + HJ was nice but for 1,2 mln dongs, it's way too expensive.

Thanks for your review, now I know this place, it is not far from my my hotel. I've been here for 2 weeks and checked out some places but there are not as clean. Cleanliness is very important to me.

My experience was great overall. Here is some more details:

First I found the manager's number in the ads, then I texted her via Zalo for some information, and direction.

Upon arrival, I am impressed it is a big tall building, like 10 stories tall. Which has beer club, restaurant, cafe and even Karaoke KTV, and massage parlor. It is like a big entertainment all in one shop, so you can come in and you can eat, you can drink, you can sing, and you can have a massage and a happy ending, all within this building.

The massage shop in is 4th floor, and after I sited down, have a drink, I talked in mama for a bit, and she asked me what kind of girls I like. I asked for Yen, but they told me Yen is not working today. And she told me they have a new girl named Thu, very beautiful with great body / service. I agreed, and chose the Vip Room for 600 K VND (about $28 US) ticket for 60 minutes.

The guy showed the to the room, when I get in, it was very new, clean and smell good. I feel good already.
