Molluscum is common and usually need no treatment. But it's always better to get tested for other stds.

It's recommended to get it removed to avoid spread to other areas and most importantly to others. It can come back even after removal.

You can try covering it with medicated tape and let your immune system do its work if its a dry period.

It can be physically removed through cyrotherapy. Takes just a few minutes for this treatment and no oral medicines required. The more delay he does the more it spreads near genital area. Once removed it will heal in a couple of days. Seek a good dermatologist. I have downloaded the pic for your ref. Ask your friend if it appears the similar way as in pic.
