Was at 4 x 4 last Friday and noticed couple of guys walk-in to the bar area wearing the robes. Looked like cops and I asked my girl she said they definitely are. 6 ft, jacked up and very angry looking. They made a couple rounds and then left. What would be the purpose of this other than to make sure nothing illegal is going on.

Also, with the Tembici/Itaś shared electric bike program launch of 500 electrical bikes in Rio de Janeiro, at the end of October, 2020, biking in Rio is now even more fun (albeit with less physical effort need).
W/R to finding, "quality road bikes", along with Sperto's info, may I suggest searching https://rj.olx.com.br, as a possible alternative for finding a "used/previously owned" bike. Also check around there maybe other such local "buy-n-sell" websites/communities that may sell used bikes.
Also, its important to note, that there was (or still is) a world wide shortage of bike parts (and like used cars), used bikes (in some places) have increased in price and are very much the "hot" commodity in some parts of the world. So "cheap" may not be on the table for type of bike your looking for?

Posts: 112The Dishonesty at mabs continues
Is Anybody else tired of the bill padding and crappy service at Mabs? The last time I was there, I swore to myself that I'd avoid giving anymore of my hard earned to this place in the future. My solution: instead of buying drinks at mabs, I walk next door to angel's bar. There I'm greeted by the beautiful, honest and friendly Angelina and I pay a fraction of the price for my drinks. From there I stroll back down to Mabs and appreciate the eye candy. It's nice not having to keep track of what I have already drunk and how much money I owe the bar. If you buy your drinks at angel's bar, you don't have to keep tabs on your bill. Her and her staff are as honest as they come.

I remember seeing Charlotte at 4 X4 and 65 years ago, but unfortunately, I never grabbed her. I happened to see her pic online today as I was planning my trip in Nov. She is definitely on the Hit List. (Its rare you see such a white skinned girl with that type of ass. I know Cane said she was German and Brazilian.) https://www.rioencontro.com.br/charlotte/.

Not to feed the troll, but Dark7, a true buttman backpacker, stayed in two pretty good hostels, one in Ipanema, and the other in Copa, just inside of a favela, like right up the road from the motoboy post, which is the dividing line -- the favela that is at Copa P5 or P6. Inevitably, there will be many who can tell me exactly the location of which I speak. I have the data somewhere. It was a really cool hostel. Dark7 ended up hanging there with his fellow travelers.
Actually, super hot women are to be found in Hostels, young, backpacker babes in their 20's. As for pricing it is frugal in the same way as staying in communidade (IE, in a favela) is, which some of our ISG members seem to favor.
Vagabundo, for one, favors the very safe environs of Barra. But the favela hostels mentioned were good options. I would be super careful about when I went in and out, and what I wore (a vasco shirt would be mandatory).
All that said, one of our fellow members took down this member, Harry Dubois as a serious troll or at least someone who disclosed far too much of his own information.
