I'm preparing for my upcoming trip. I sat down with my priv-list from March and started to compare my addresses with new prives reported on Gpguia. I was very impressed! I havn't seen so many new addresses for many years. Of course, some of the new addresses are old places that have moved to a new location. Still it looks very promising.

Just on Av Rio Branco, no 156 and 185, and Av Treze de Maio, no 33 and 47, there about 60 salas I will check out, not counting all those I will stumble on during my exploration.

I was in Rio for the first time earlier this month (November). The boards told me that Rio's hotels weren't going to be guest-friendly; therefore, I booked an apartment on Miguel Lemos / Avenida Atlantica with a great twelfth floor view, peering down over Copacabana beach, for roughly US $70/ nt. The apartment was a 1 bedroom w / kitchenette in a guest friendly building.

On the other hand, there are one or two hotels that are supposedly guest friendly in Zona Sul. You can perform a web search and then email their management for the answer. Alternatively, you can locate a "love motel", but dong this is going to tack on an extra expense to your budget.

3 days Rio side trip recap. Went to MC on Sat, Mabs Sunday, 4 x4 and Centaurio (Ipanema). I was in Rio 8-10 years ago and had one of the hottest girls I've ever been with at L-Uumo. Not this time. Lots of young eye candy in Ipanema daytime but that's not the kind you get in the termas. Most girls were big butt ghetto hood rats for lack of a better term. MC and 4 x4 are not anywhere near what I had expected to be a Hi end clean, both rather dirty and dark dance floor places. Now maybe these were not the best nights and there are hundreds of other thermas in Rio but that's a lot of leg work. The ride from Ipanema to centro is at least 30 minutes and that's with no rush hour traffic. And if you are coming all the way on a 12 hour flight one should expect quality without therma hopping. Maybe things have moved to freelance scene in nightclubs I didn't get a chance to check those out. Also surprised a big city like Rio doesn't have a big late night freelance afters (like Love Story SP). If you've got a week and look in the right places you will probably do better. But in terms of quality and if you are looking for 18-21 age fresh girls I don't think you will find it in Rio easily. Maybe some escorts and searching Tinder profiles. I am comparing to what you get in Bangkok lots of fresh talent or German FKK clubs in terms of quality. But if you are looking to bang numbers Brazilian girls are the best, kissing, BBBJ etc etc is just normal for them. PM me your email so I can give you edit rights to map, of some reasons all info doesn't show in the link. It helped me out, I could see that the taxi drivers was on the right path and always options at hand if things changes when out drinking.

Black= terma it's like an FKK club a sort of a spa / club with a fixed price setting.

Yellow is massage where you pick a girl and gets a massage, also fixed price setting.

Blue is clubs with girls, can be strip clubs, bars, or in SP they call it caf. SP venues is also in this map, you have to negotiate with the girls and most time you have to pay to take them out of the club, most in SP have in house rooms you can rent per h.

The glass is restaurant's / bars / pubs, Mabs is the only one with FL girls in of my knowledge (have to negotiate with the girl), the ones in SP is non pro ordinary girls. But I guess there might be one or two working girls in the crowd.

Terma and spa / massage parlors have rooms and you're supposed to do it in the house.

Mabs is a bar with FL girls so you need to take them back to your apartment or hotel, alternative love motel (the girls know) and the same goes for Barbarella and other places (it's possible barb have rooms, I don't remember).

In SP I think all the clubs like Bomboa, Gauguin, Casario (at least the one I been to) and so on have rooms for rent or love motel close by, but you always have the option to bring them back to the hotel. I didn't found a FL bar option like mabs in SP.

Maybe my question was misleading. Year's ago I lived in China and the places I went to there I wouldn't recommend a newbie to; it would have been leading the lamb to slather, now my chines wasn't god at all but I dig get around with it and over the years I got the know how (today all gone) but without it I would had been screwed over million times (I only got screwed mile times learning hehe), now in China I never worried about things getting violent they just overcharge you as much as they could.

So my question was more related to that, if I venture out to the places I find in gpgua (they have similar type forums in China) for example that's more for the locals and not for gringos without the ability to speak Porto will they try to royally screw you over every possible way or will I get something positive out of it, and from a safety perspective, is it worth the risk?. I plan a new trip next year, but I guess I wait until after the Olympics. I think it's hard enough to get around in the tourist areas with only English but I would like to explore other areas like the ones you talk about. This trip we didn't even consider that, time was short and we just felt it would be too much work and as gringos with no Porto we would been too easy targets to roll around in those places / areas. And we believed that in those places / areas the ability to speak English among the working girls would be very limited. I don't know, am I right?

The price for all night at mabs was what we paid 3-400 but I wouldn't agree that this is the bottom scrap, for sure the lowest 30% is not much but when we was there it always turned up hot ones late at night. The quality in places like Barbarella, 4 x4 is just more even and don't have that bottom scrap. The different from my perspective was that mabs covered all the scale and the ugly ones usually with god English ability's thrived on that (usually the ones working the crowd hardest). That's how I looked at the situation.

The picture I got from the mabs girl I did when I asked why she didn't work in a place like Barb, she had the look, the moves, friends working there and everything required (I did 3 different from barb this trip). Normally at barb the get a customer every 2 e day, sure they get better paid but a bad week there can be hard. At mabs she got work almost every day, more party and she felt it was more fun going to mabs when she needed cash and bigger freedom. And I believe that's why the quality got up later in the evening, girls coming in from other venues. But I might be wrong.
