I know members who live in Brazil more than 5 months a year will disagree with your assessment about low-end brothel. As far as Colombia goes, it depends. Thanks a lot for this. I usually use my go to place in Rio before coming to SP but I am a bunch of nerves walking back to the hotel after changing a bunch of cash in Copa. Will try this one next time I am in SP.

I think you are more likely to get it if you ask in advance. The last report before yours is also CBJ. You can't rely on chemistry (IOP). I have gone thru this cycle many times. Always! This hotel is a famous monger spot. I ran into fellow mongers in the lobby a few times.

All business class hotels in Brazil are girl-friendly. It's part of the culture. Cane, you and I think a like (sometimes). KKK. I have been using the Schwab Debit Card for years and it is changed the way I travel. Now I only carry $500 to $1000 in cash as an emergency back-up. I need that much because my trips are always between 6 and 11 weeks.

But as you suggest, in the back of my mind I knew there is always the possibility that something might happen to my Schwab card and then I would be up shit creek and forced to draw money from one of my credit cards at a huge price. But just before I left on my recent Oct / Nov SP trip, I found a solution: another zero ATM fee bank debit card. It is called the Needham Bank Debit Card. It works just like the Schwab Debit Card only my ATM fee was refunded into my Needham checking account the very next day! You can't ask for more than that. I recommend it.

With all due respect brother cane. Nobody would care about places to exchange cash if they weren't showing up to Brazil with just that, cash! Some of us clearly prefer to use ATM's thus keeping small amounts of cash on hand. That's Fair enough. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that there are some mongers out there who like to bring cash to pay for their shady mongering activities instead. Some mongers are married and prefer to hide their everyday purchases from the prying eyes of their spouses.
