After seeing the food pics that Tomjackin posted, that reminded me of how much I enjoy the food and restaurant tips people share.

I recently picked up a bunch of bottles of sauces at a tienda, primarily driven by a search for the Castillo 7 Mares red sauce, it's in a white / blue bottle with a blue top, that I always use when I eat at the fish taco stand on Constitucion / Coahuila.

I picked up a couple more bottles of other sauces too. El Yucateco, a green habanero chili sauce, used it as a marinade with limes for pork chops. Also got Delipulpa Tamarindo sauce, and marinated some fish. Served both with white rice, black beans, diced tomatoes with cilantro & lime, and slices of mango and melon.

I much prefer doing the eating, but will do some cooking now and then. I'd recommend these to anyone who likes cooking.

Yesterday I flew from the east coast to San Diego. Now I'm stuck in SD with my boss for some days. Won't be able to slip into Tijuana. I'm sure glad the boss usually doesn't travel with me.

I lost the internet signal once while I was there and really needed to get a message to a family member. So I went down to the Business Center to use the computer. The keyboards are Spanish, and I could not figure out for the life of me how to type theatkey. Frustrated and pissed, I went and got one of the front desk girls. She came in and said,"Oh, that's easy. Just press the Alt button and 64." As if that information was fucking common knowledge! Either way, I got over it easy enough through tequila therapy.

In Gloria on Wednesday night and this dude was attempting to dance with a chica on the floor. When he gets done dancing, for whatever fucking reason, he decides to hop on the dance ring. And this is when it gets silly, he decides, for whatever fucking reason, he would hang by his ankles. Didn't work at all! He went straight down fucking head first. I about pissed myself laughing so damn hard! He got up, stumbled around for a bit, sat down, and then quickly left because the whole place was in tears laughing.

Now that would have been worth a dollar tip!

Because I live at the beach and it's now saturated with tourists, I decided to spend the 4th of July in Tijuana; and then some. I picked up my much older brother, Conezone (TJA) at the airport on Wednesday and we got to the border in a timely fashion. I was staying at the Ticuan, and CZ was staying closer to base camp; separate cabs and we were on our way. I love the Ticuan, the staff, food, and bar; class act, not sure why they let me stay there?

The hotel seems to be full of medical patients. In the Navy, we called them the "Sick, Lame, and Lazy." One day I was having drinks with my retired doctor friend, Sal, and he told me about all the scams. How doctors in Tijuana can cure cancer and HIV and many fall for these scams because they are desperate for some kind of hope. I guess it makes sense. But daily in the hotel, they loaded and unloaded the vans with the medical patients.

Food:

Three days in a row I ate at the place behind Sanborn's. I really like the food and the staff. Other than that, street food was the way to go. Photos are included. The last night, I finally had the chicken in red wine sauce at Nikki's; excellent!

HK:

CZ and I were hanging there on Wednesday afternoon and it seemed quite busy. Maybe I wasn't the only person escaping the 4th of July crowds. I checked the time and told CZ we should leave soon because the cousins will start their shift soon, and it wasn't a minute after I said that. 2 of 3 of the cousins were headed our way. The girls are fun, and not pushy whatsoever, so we hung with them for a while.

Saturday night I was in there for the sausage festival and was having a drink with the Twins, when this stunner came walking by and we both stared at each other, even after she passed us. She was looking back, I was looking back, and I got an elbow in my ribs from the Twins. I sent the Twins packing, and the stunner returned with a big smile. She sat down, drank really slow, and we had a nice chat. I asked her what the going arriba rate was and she said $80 for 30 minutes. I explained to her that at my age, it takes me at least 10 minutes to get undressed and another 10 to get dressed, which does not leave a lot of time for sex in between. I told her I set up afternoon / early evening dates in my room. She smiled, grabbed my phone off the table, and inserted her info; I will see her in the near future.

Wednesday night, CZ and I was drinking in Gloria and this one girl, which I've been hanging with for a while, came by and gave me a big kiss. I decided to buy her out of the bar, and CZ did the same with his girl. Headed over to MQ to listen to the band and chill upstairs. The girls were cracking me up big time because we had a big bucket of beers and they were drinking like drunken sailors! Every now and then the mesero was MIA, so the girls were biting off the bottle caps with their teeth. I was just waiting for a dental emergency to happen at any minute. Once back at the Ticuan, there was no hurry and it turned out to be a great night!

Thursday afternoon, I set up a date with one of my new girls at LC for 2 o'clock. She was dead on schedule! We played and she hung out for a few hours. I told her that I scheduled another LC girl for Friday afternoon, who she knew, but she promised not to get jealous; I love when they share! I was sitting in the bar on Friday from 2 on for a while. Got a text at 3, said she was in route, and I thought from where, Mexico City? Gave up on her, back in the room around 4, got a text,"Donde estas." She arrived, Por Fin! She stayed for a few hours, then we both took a cab to LC so she could work. But she was tanked after all the shots we took in the room; not sure if she could work.

This is when the 72 turned into a 96:

I got a text from my favorite girl in North America saying that she is off Saturday, would I still be in Tijuana. For her, the answer was easy, hell yes! She hasn't worked in HK for over 9 months, working 12 hour shifts in a pharmacy, and doing well. I tell her all the time, on FB and when I see her, just how proud I am of her. And if she ever needs my help, let me know. She came at 1:58. I asked her if she wanted some beer or wine, she said,"No, I want tequila." Damn I'm in love! She did not leave until after 7. She pulled this class act move, a first for me. I folded up some pesos and put them on her cell phone. A bit later, she put her phone in her purse and left the pesos untouched. I put the pesos in her purse before she left.

I was at Calimax buying some wine and I handed the cashier my HK VIP card for payment; got the WTF look! Even worse, I went to HK and handed the customer service girl my Ticuan room key for my free drink. I got the,"What in the fuck is wrong with you?" look! Hey, if you can't laugh at yourself now and then, life would suck!

Hanging with my brother at LC the last night when this dude comes over with those electrical thingys, and I never pay no attention to those dudes. I have one of my new girls on my left, and Alejandra, previously chica from HK, with her big ass, sitting on my right thigh. CZ decides to go the shock route with Alejandra, I pay no mind, but Alejandra decides she want to shove her tongue down my throat, and I like tongues, so I accept. She shocked the fuck out of my tongue. I wanted to punch her in the face, but she has been a buddy of mine for a couple of years; so I just choked her a little!

It was a great little vacation from the San Diego crowd. Yeah, my back account and my liver are in the Hurt Locker, but we will heal; some day!
