Sometimes you have flaky people, sometimes you find good people who'll genuinely respond back. I am eternally grateful to some of the members of this forum for providing contacts and references. And there have been few who have been assholes.

But to be very honest, I haven't tried all these contacts. So it is possible that some of the behavior you have highlighted is from folks like me. This isn't intentionally malicious.

I have also received good advice from some seniors and regulars about who to share contacts with. Some are apprehensive that the rates might increase. Some just don't trust the poster enough to share a contact (lack of FR though they've been members for ages).

But still, imo, the idea of quid pro quo seems dubious at best. It's not like we are handlers. Maybe one spent a lot of time finding a "contact". But I'm sure when you share an FR and get requests, at least some of the folks would be sharing something new. Like, for each of my FRs where some has reached out, there are a bunch who reached out, got contacts and ghosted. There are a few who shared contacts without asking and then there were few who actually used the contact and wrote FRs. And honestly, that should be enough.

Apt point of view. I second it. When I was new, was helped by many seniors like Panvel bro, victorbhai and others. Still I depend upon fellow mongers to get new contacts. Since Majority guys are like me who doesn't have the courage, perseverance and ability to develop a new contact and as a result depends on others. It's always better to have the referred girl. But one point we should follow that we should freely share the old contacts like ritu, Raj Anjali types to anyone who asks. But new contacts should be shared to only handful peers periodically. This will prevent the sudden flood and the GPS like what happened with the couple which was first highlighted by Nicks bro to this forum recently.

+1 to this opinion if we are holding on to something and feel that it is unfair for new guys to seek help from seniors.

Sounds of prejudice. Trust me when I say that I stumbled upon this forum a few years ago and that is when I got into the mongering scene.

But, the points that I want to get through is.

1. There would always be newbies who would ask for help and fail to push through after getting a contact.

2. Many would have spa experiences only. And can share the location / therapist name if asked for.

Is it not better to provide guidance on how to hunt for new food?
