Curious to hear about your experience. I am a old, sleep early monger who doesn't like spending time in clubs and bars.

Would rather just pick someone up for a quickie, which is why I like Thermae. Very convenient too. But I find the women are average, don't really dress up and lack GFE.

I always looking to find better options. I am headed to BKK next month and excited to check out a new place.

Additionally, I have no desire for interaction beyond the act with p4 p gals. Hanging out at a disco or gogo bar hearing the same thing I've heard for ages is just not the slightest bit interesting. It's not like I'm going to get into a discussion about the latest Murakami book I've read with a Thai hooker. When I want to shag, I go shag and when I go out, it's with friends who I can converse with. When mates are in town and want to hit the gogos, I usually last about 30 min and am then bored to tears.
Soi 4 viets are really vfm. Soi 4 is full of viets.

Agree on no point of having conversations with gogo girls. Half of them can't understand one word you say. I also only go there when some friends are in bkk. Other than that it feels like a waste of money.

However, I have never tried picking up freelancers at bars / clubs such as Mixx, Levels, Insanity, Spasso, etc. Mostly because I don't drink alcohol and cannot tolerate cigarette smoke.

However, after RTFF, I am very curious about Spasso and have decided to try it on my next visit. My understanding is that Spasso typically has high-class, slightly older to milfy ladies dressed elegantly in cocktail dresses, and tend to be more expensive than the average wg. I also read that the ladies can be a mixed bag of ethnicities, ranging from Thai, to other Southeast Asian, Latina, and Central Asian. I am very much into older women (35-45).

Would love to hear the feedback of the wise men on this forum on what I can expect at Spasso. Specifically:

    - How much is the going rate for ST / LT? How many shots do I get? I read somewhere that ST is 5 k? Price is not really an issue for me, as long as I'm getting solid service.

    - What is the overall quality of girls, both in terms of looks and service? I realize this is highly subjective, and there will always be duds and gems anywhere. Just looking for a rough sense based on your experience. I'm expecting it to be a crapshoot like Thermae.

    - How well will the ladies react to someone of my profile: solo, late 30's but look young, East Asian origin but grew up in West, well-dressed, tall. Given the ladies tend to be older, will they ignore me due to my youthful looks? Do they prefer white guys?

    Thanks!

For those who like a healthy serving of tasty meat for a fraction of the price go to The Smokin' Pug out near Patpong.
Thanks for the tip. I may well try the Smokin Pug, although not sure they have steaks.

I have seen some incredibly expensive steak houses in Bangkok with steaks into the thousands of Bahts. Personally I prefer to eat a Steak for well under 1 K and save the rest for hot girls, but each to their own preference. Whatever turns you on. Go crazy on high fibre veg, is my motto. Ha ha.

Anything in Thailand imported can be rather expensive, and agents for importing get to be very rich with little work. That rankles with me somewhat so I don't like to support rich importers too much. Still there are some imported things we can't live without. I import a lot of Italian coffee in my suitcase ha ha, each major arrival.

I have found that Thai steaks are generally not very good. So not much point to eating them I think, and certainly not at a restaurant.

I also saw the Hong Kong Shark Fin soup restaurant in Asoke if you want to spend a fortune. Ha ha. For millionaires only.

If anyone knows where to get a really nice roast lamb at a reasonable price, I would like to hear. Some sports pubs used to do it on Sunday Roast, but not many any more. Lamb cutlets don't interest me so much. I see the Pug has a smoked lamb sandwich:

Not sure if I am really into ribs. Depends if they put sugar or sweet stuff on the meat, like American style. I prefer not. At home in Thailand I do stew up pork ribs (no sugar involved).

I've eaten there once and thought the food was very good. Expensive, but worth it IMO.

But I think you are underestimating the cost of fine dining. Infact, El Gaucho prices are comparable to top steakhouse prices in the USA. Speaking of which, the stateside cost of a steak dinner for 2 in a 1st class outfit like The Congress Grille, my favorite steakhouse in my home town, will run you $125 for 2 steaks, truffle fries and roasted wild mushrooms. Then add $25 for corkage to bring in your own bottle of quality red wine or pay them $40 for a lesser quality in-house bottle and you are up to at least $175 for 2 including tip. That's La Dolce Vita, baby!

Good thing I happen to like Thai girls and real Thai food.
I'm not paying USA prices for non USA steaks and service and I didn't like Guacho, altho the Fogo place is OK with eatigo. I'd rather find those little out of the way joints that serve a decent piece of meat at a fair price. The steak I had last night was comparable to a steak chain in the USA like outback, far cheaper though.

But you are spot on, like who wants to go to Angeles city? Third world.

Unfortunately, Bangkok has become quite expensive for p4 p. And truthfully for many other things. Rents, local food, health insurance, and some transport are still very cheap, but western food, alcohol, and women are pricey. Especially when you consider what locals make. It's the former costs that keep me here. Although I'm looking at other places.
Speaking as one who does go to the discos, I can assure you that the hags on Soi 4 are not quite at the level of what you would find in Mixx and Levels. But, too each his own.

I can only compare the costs here to the costs in the US because I split my time between here and there. But, it costs me far less to stay here and have fun for 6 months than it does to do the same things in the US. Last night, I had a fab steak dinner for $13. Probably 50% cheaper plus than in the USA. I'm here for food and fun and at this stage in my life, P4P is not the highest thing on my list to do. My accountant has me on a budget, and quite frankly its so cheap for me here that I have to go out and spend 10 K in a night just to make sure he doesn't start his crap, "well you aren't spending it what do you need it for?" "Well its my money dude, how about that". "Well you pay me a lot of money to do this job blah blah blah and then you make me line item BJs?" And so on.

I am like you in that I just want to dump a load and take off, because I have no interest in "getting to know" some hooker, not does my patience extend to trying to have a conversation about things I am interested in with some poorly educated Thai girl. I have a GF back in the USA for that. But it remains that in terms of infrastructure, people, culture, food and P4P this is the best place in the world for old guys with lots of time on their hands and the money to do whatever they want.

    For the record.

Just so you know, discussions about LB's are not permitted by the ISG Forum. It can be an inflammatory subject to say the least. There are other websites that you can get an answer to your questions so suggest you research these options on your own.

I know this might sound like I'm asking for the impossible, but if there is anyone with recommendations and reviews, I would really appreciate it.

I'm still seeing my regular girls while in Bangkok, but thought I'the take a walk on the wild side and see what it's like.

    Thanks in advance.

    Viets

Last winter, I inadvertently selected two Viets on two different occasions from Soi 4. One of them I actually met in Hilary 2.

The first one performed abysmally and the second one I kicked out after she demanded to be paid in advance. The first one I would see from time to time on Soi 4 later in that winter and she always looked at me with a look that said why not chose me again. So they don't not even know when they are terrible.

I did not know the first one was Vietnamese until we started talking on the way to my apartment where she revealed her home country. Before that, she was vague about this and said he had been working in a factory. Turns out, that factory was in some backwater delta in Vietnam. At the time, I almost felt like this session would not go well given my experiences with Viet girls I have encountered outside of Vietnam and my foreboding turned out to be accurate. I think that I was initially duped by the second one too as to her country origins but no matter as I booted her out of the apartment before any baht were exchanged.

The long and short is I would be wary of taking a Viet girl from Soi 4. This particular strain of Viets who hang out on Soi 4 are especially mercantile and non-service oriented.

Most are past the cut through to soi 2. Some will even be in front of Hooters. Seen them as early as 830 pm.
