No I didn't pay the money. The hotel wasted almost 30-40 minutes in back and forth. Then I was so frustrated that could not build up the mood. In the hindsight I think even if I had paid the money, he would not have allowed as the hotel was fully packed up that night due to some wedding or something with guests roaming around everywhere. I tried to bargain. If the girl doesn't come down, then I simply backed off. See, the girls need money. If we pay them more even by a bit, then we are doing harm to nobody but ourselves. Had a a terrible experience last night. Had confirmed from the reception their overnight visitor policy a day in advance. Was told 1. 5 k for upgrade to double occupancy and the girl will need to submit ID. When the girl came in (around 10 PM), the reception called me that due to high occupancy, the charges for upgrading to double occupancy went up to 5 k plus taxes and if I agree, I need to pay before they let the girl inside. The duty manager Mr. K (captain of India's winning world cup team in 1980's) is a cheap guy and extremely uncooperative. I will suggest to avoid this hotel.

Seniors, Please can you suggest good 4/5 star hotels nearby where the staff is more professional.
