Let me introduce all of you. Very good question. Kerala public were not careless. We mostly wear mask. But the cases are not coming down even after long lock downs. One of my doctor friend is telling it may be spreading through air and stays in the air for sometime. All we can do now is just hope and expect some magic. Now lock down extended. Be safe.

Comparing in absolute terms to something like a UP or Bihar or MP, Kerala general public is not as careless. The lockdown has been partially / now fully effective for almost 20 days now. Any idea why the covid numbers aren't climbing down? Is there a cause for concern because of factors that are not very obvious? Where do you think it will plateau out? I have friends and family in Delhi and Mumbai and Lucknow and it looks like every family has 1-2 cases, 1 in every 10 families had someone pass away. Are things likely to get as worse here in covid count (not in terms of medical treatment as that is still far superior compared to these places in the current situation). I am just thinking if we should assume we will all get covid and prepare for it.

No where in India is the number of deaths being reported correctly and that includes Kerala. May be better than others but still nowhere near correct figure. I got covid last year and it was literally nothing more than a flu. I was able to work almost throughout. Things don't seem to be the same this time, it is just more grim and serious. Mortality statistics aren't telling the right picture, there should be a metric that tracks total cases to hospitalization even if for one day. I guess that would be 5 times higher than last year. Did any of you face issues in getting relatives an ICU bed or oxygen or something..

I must say despite high numbers I feel a lot more safe in Kerala today compared to the other bigger states. So we are doing a lot right, hope the number reflect that in a few days. Stay safe.

I was in Kerala till Feb. Seems Kerala are giving right numbers till will level. Other states are in the city level or numbers are manipulated. People in Kerala are more careful than most of the states in India.
