With all these posts about being threatened and being called up by fake police, I thought I would share my experience too. I had taken a SA membership in January after the pandemic hiatus. Prepandemic, whatsapp was the way to communicate so I did give my mongering number to two girls. Both seemed like hard-core pros so I did not pursue. Soon enough I got the call from a different number. There were multiple voice calls that I didn't pick up and the scammer got frustrated enough to message me. I've attached the whatsapp screenshots. Considering that this number was only given to 2 girls, one of them was involved.

Don't bother with their threats, just give it back to them. Those pestering for WhatsApp numbers are likely to be these kind of scammers.

I got the call saying the same as context but I generally don't give my Whatsapp num to anyone. I don't know from where he picked up this number.

He said he is calling from Delhi and said my number I=he found in a call girl who is a Bangladeshi girl and you need to give explanation. I just said you can file a complaint in my local police station, I can handle it here. I got panic after that call.

But after reading this post I got relieved that this is a common pattern that's going on.
