As a very general guideline, the farther East and South you go in Cuba, the more the people tend to be of African descent. Guys that like Negritas should head to Santiago (again Santiago, Cuba not Santiago, DR). Guys that like Blancas are better off in the West / North in a mid-sized town like Santa Clara or Pinar del Rio.

Just arrived home from Havana and basically there is nothing exciting going on.

The chica scene is dead unless your into the late night disco club scene and nothing spectacular is happening there either.

Some advice for first time travelers:

* Havana is expensive when you take into consideration the quality of what your getting.

* Prices are increasing in anticipation of arrival of American tourists.

* $100 US will convert to 87 Cuban Convertible pesos at major hotels (13% Haircut).

* Poor food except in local paladars.

* Internet is extremely slow..

I agree to these observations from Adinga. Except the payment for the girls. 50 or 60 cuc does not make any difference if you fly from the other part of the globe to Cuba and sweating your balls off in the infernal heat in Havana haggling for 10 CUC. If you like the girl pay what she asks. 50,60,70 or 80, who gives a fuck if you are on vacation. As the Spanish say "el tiempo es oro!" Unless they ask 150 CUC for 1 hour like one moron average looking hooker in hotel Melia Cohiba's lobby bar. Well if you have the money, then rock out with your cock out.

I would like to add one thing to Adinga's list which is a major letdown in Cuba. Namely the goddamn hide and seek game with the police. This crap is a true mood killer and makes the mongering awkward and far less enjoyable. I did not remember this shit when I booked my flights to Cuba.

Cuba is maybe worth visiting once if you have max 2-3 hours flight to get there. And if you like Salsa and / or Cigars it is a good country to go. Otherwise I would not recommend Cuba to anyone unless you are a veteran punter with Spanish skills. Brazil or Colombia in SA are better places for the hobby. Better infrastructure, better food, equal or better looking putas who don't have to hide or run to the hills when seeing a cop. Euro and Dollar are now strong against Brazilian Reais.

My timing is completely off, dealing with Erika (tropical storm) and the Pope coming in two weeks makes my trip challenging, but I'm all-in.

I've been playing the Casa game for two weeks but decided to fall back to my trusted Casa. I sent 8 requests out on Airnb two months ago with no responses. I tried the casas that a member posted a few pages back but they all want money in advance. I explained that in Cuba a reservation with cash is useless because if someone walks up with cash I'm fucked, but they wouldn't budge on the deposit. Then I found a website that allows you to contact the owner directly and that was bullshit. Most never got back to me and the others said the Casa wasn't available and they had others but no pictures.

I usually like to know exactly where a regular girl lives in Havana but girls there are so sneaky or ashamed of where they live that they didn't allow me to escort them home. Because of this and the fact that their phone numbers are disconnected, I've lost some good fucks and have to reset. Its a nice white sandy beach with grassy dunes but there is no place for shade so be prepared if you are fare skinned.

I paid the guy who manages the [CodeWord118] to get an umbrella and chair. I think he asked me for 10, I said 5 for two hours. He was good with that. Next time simply gave him 5, he was good even I stayed for more than 2 hours.

You did not miss anything by not getting inside Tropicoco. If you still want to try the bar, tell the security guy that you want to exchange money, he will let you in.

Tropicoco has a bar in the playa. It is a bit hidden on the path that goes from playa to Tropicoco, the wooden walkway where the policia stands. If you can communicate in spanish, you can make a deal with the guy at that bar, 5 cuc for all you can drink. He wants to be anonymous, so gave me a wrist band as though I am staying in the hotel and then took it back in the evening. For no hassle like this, the mercado in front of Tropicoco sells all drinks at normal cost. A rum bottle of 3. 5 cuc would be a good bait to get amigos on the playa, who has the potential to introduce their amigas if all goes well.

Also 1 cuc (20 for the taxi collectivo fom the playa to Havana El Capitolio. If you want solo, tell him you will pay for other seats, 5 or 6 cuc max. IMHO, Save the money and tip the hard fucking chica more.

What I did before I left was print out some maps. I compiled a mongering map of Havana during my research stage.

This is good. I used to draw the streets and then mark them as I did not know how to create the red dot pointers in the map, I guess something new to learn.

I posted a while back how someone taught me to save maps on the mobile phone. At the time I was using an iPhone. Before the trip, I would goto google maps in the iphone and type in Santa Clara. It will show the Santa Clara map, then expand it in such a way that all streets with names are displayed. I would then type 'ok maps', same like typing Santaclara before, the phone will save the map. During the trip, I can open google maps and can see santa clara map without any data connection. When ever I opened it, a small blue dot will appear at the location where I was standing on the map. Very handy.

I would now learn how put important locations in the map and simply print it. That way I don't even have to carry the phone while walking around. Thanks guys.
