Parque Bolivar versus Nutibara.

I stayed at Hotel Las Rampas for a week during the lockdown 2+ years ago. Way over rated hotel. What I learned is it is a bad area. Spanish has nothing to do with it. Starting at the southern end of Parque Bolivar, go 2 blocks north of the Parque to Avenida Oriental. Now go across to the metro line (3-4 streets west). Most of that square area is tranny central. You do not want to go into that area in general and never after 8:00 when the businesses are closed. Taking a taxi every time you want to go out is a huge pain in the ass.

Theres an apartment near Parque de Bolvar I saw within my budget that I was considering staying and according to his map, El centro is only a 8 minute car ride, so can't go wrong there. Any advice on where to stay along with anything else? I'm ok with my beginner Spanish but I'm taking virtual classes up until the trip to improve my comprehension and fluency. I already know about how not to stick out, and how to be aware with my surroundings and not to bring the chicks to my room (that's my safe house) so no problem there, but any advice I'd appreciate it.

Those apartment buildings around the park have liberal Airbnb policies, the administration committees don't enforce the government registration rules. That's why there are so many affordable apartments on offer. I saw an apartment that wasn't bad at all. The area is no more dicey than Nutibara and Plaza Botero during daylight hours but at night I am with you 100%. Your survival prospects are better around the Nutibara at night for sure.

Nutibara will be easier to navigate and safer between the two choices. It's also closer to Metro.

Parque de Bolivar and the area around there is not somewhere a first time visitor with limited Spanish is going to want to be walking around at. I highly suggest you stay at the Nutibara instead.
