I kind of used to do that. But I've recently been negotiating more.

From my experiences, when you negotiate a fair price, the girls are not "cheap" with their effort. I don't find a difference. But note I'm not into GFE type of stuff as a lot of guys here are. As long as the girls suck and lick on command, then I am happy.

I have been through a couple thousand paid chicks. If it is not a place with a set price then I always negotiate and I don't normally give tips. The only time it seemed that a chick was not trying is from some of the street girls in Tijuana and a chick at the $6 spot on Calle 18 in Guayaquil.

To me it is riduliculous to assume things are not going to go right because you negotiated. I would like for some guys to give examples of the times they negotiated and things went bad, or is this just an assumption that is being made? Because in my experience it just does not happen that way.

And how would you do that? If he asked, I doubt it would have given the money back. There's no "manager" at the short time motel to force it to give the money back. Any other options, besides the physical one?

This similar type of stuff happens to everyone. I negotiate BBBJ, or some other stuff. In the room, she says no. I leave. I try not to get mad; if my old days, I would get pissed and it would ruin my day. It is a "cost of doing business".

If you negotiate a higher price with extras, it is better to offer the standard rate with a tip, instead of 1 set fee. Then if she reneges in the room, you are only out of the standard rate, instead of everything.

I found an ATM at Oviedo mall that gave me 2880, I was happy because I had went to another ATM and I got 2780. Also I didn't get charged any fees when I used BanColombia atms.

Ignore if you don't care about a few pesos.

- All ATMs will give out virtually the same exchange rate; virtually same as the Visa rates. If you discount for all the fees (fees that you can recover), you virtually cannot beat the exchange rate anywhere. Last week, I got around 3079. Yesterday, it just went below 3000.

- When you calculate the exchange rate, you need to factor in your bank fees (if any), foreign transaction fees (if any), and the foreign ATM machine charges. As written numerous times, you can get a good ATM (such as Schwab Bank), and they will not charge you any fees and they will also refund the foreign ATM fees, which can add up to a lot.

- I believe the Banco Colombia ATM charges you the 13200 fee. On some ATMs, they ask you if you want to see additional financial details. If you press no, then they don't show the ATM fee.

Why would you even consider ruining a potential great experience over $10.10 measly dollars?

Because you can get the same experience next block over for 30 K COP less.

But if you're a 2 week millionaire, then ya, go for it.

Just ask the price, I never negotiate. If its worth it, pay it. Soon as you start to haggle it ruins it and they loose interest. You are cheap with your money they are cheap with their effort.

I'm not one to spend any time bartering. If the price offered is outside my range, I'll just offer a no gracias and a smile. If you keep the little head out of the process it's a buyer's market. So now that I am safely home I will write a detailed trip report. This will not be a day by day report but more of a summary of what I learned in terms of mongering and just living in Medellin. Also I was only in Medellin for 4 days and am a complete newbie when it comes to this scene, so some of my information may be incorrect. I also don't speak a lick of spanish.

First let's get the logistics and non mongering issues out of the way. I landed at the airport at 11:30 pm, at this time there were plenty of taxis to take you back to the city. The cost of a taxi in to the city is around 70 mil. My airbnb host said they could send me a driver for the same amount of money, which I accepted. If you don't have COP on you when you arrive there are ATMs right next to the exit of the airport. The drive into Medellin from the airport is 45-50 minutes long. The airbnb I stayed at was the San Peter Apartments in Laureles for $29 a night. They are nice, clean one bedroom apartments. The only issue I had with them was that their wifi was terrible and the blankets they provide are quite small. They are girl friendly with no fee. A girl could even spend the night with you if you wanted at no extra charge. They just need her cedula. I recommend booking through airbnb rather than book.com as it is $10 cheaper and gives you direct contact with the host. Be warned that if you are a light sleeper they have music on at the bar downstairs until late at night, did not bother me though.

Now for money ATMs are the best way to get your money. They have the best exchange rate, much better than converting at an exchange. If you can find an divienda ATM use that as there is no ATM fee. Bancolombia ATMs have a 13200 COP fee. If you must exchange the one I went to was in the Unicentro Mall called Money Max, they had the best rates at 2755 per dollar, just remember to bring your passport.

I usually do currency exchange with my bank before I go to Colombia but this time I decided to just bring a like 1 k worth and use atms instead. My bank would give me a rate of about 2800.

Come to Columbia thinking I'm going to expect to spend xxx / girl. Set you maximum price per girl. If you see one close to your dream girl and you let $35 ruin the mental sexual connection for you two that's your own damn fault. Why are you even overseas without $35 to spare?! But after a few months they either decide it's not for them, or they do the math. A newly degreed professional in Colombia is lucky to earn 2 million COP per month. A prepago working Facebook, etc. Can earn that in a week. After a few weeks university is no longer part of the plan.

So, there's no "Calle de la Universidad", I almost choked when I read that, and there's no street where you're going to find a bunch of innocent university student streetwalkers.
